My three year old listens to it and I don't do anything about the cursing. It's just another word to him and he hasn't really repeated or asked much about it. I think he would listen if we told him they were adult words, though. He's a pretty compliant kid.
I am probably a terrible parent because I don't care at all about the explicit lyrics.
My mom and I always had an understanding that I could sing all the words in a song as long as no one else was with us. It worked for us.
But I do curse like a sailor so maybe that wasn't the best move.
This is me with my kids. They know they'll be in trouble if they say them at school or to friends, but while singing? I don't much care. And don't studies show those that curse like sailors are smarter? I'm setting them up for future success.
I was thinking it would be easier to buy the non-explicit version on iTunes in order to let my kid listen to it too.
I don't feel like there is *that* much swearing in the soundtrack. There is the F bomb in Washington on your side, they say whore a few times, obviously the entire song No to This isn't kid appropriate. Not much more than that?
Eh, my 6-year old just knows "Say No to This" as "that song Hamilton kisses a girl who's not his wife." But she's also not fully absorbing the lyrics, lol.

I turn it down for the explicit parts when DD is in the car or skip those songs. DD is an amazing mimic and very echoalic and loves to sing songs and has very little sense of appropriate time and place and would absolutely sing it on the playground or during free play at school. I don't want to potentially deal with that so I try to be careful.
DS is four and I either selectively lower the volume, make conversation, our sing alternate lyrics like "Britain keeps sitting on us endlessly" or "He pooped the bed at the battle of Monmouth" in songs that he adores. He's also never heard "Say No to This".
Does anyone remember the name of the instagram account with the memes of Hamilton lyrics over pictures of current politicians? I thought I was following it but I'm not and I can't remember the name to find it again.
It starts with giggling at some of the Hamiltics memes, and then you start seeing it play out every damn day.

For a split second, considering the thread, I read this as Daveed Diggs and
1) wondered how you managed to lure him into your car
2) Was impressed that, even though he has a problem with "blue language" was able to give such a great performance.

LOL I would be blasting that info every where with pics if that happened!

She turned her car into a Pokemon lure..... #endsmeat
Success! DS1 woke up yesterday morning singing "Here comes the general" from Right Hand Man and today he was muttering "I am not throwing away my shot" while watching his iPad. I checked out the explicit and the clean versions and am sticking with explicit.
I'm going to ask H for tix for my birthday/Christmas/everything else if that's what it takes. I *need* to see this on stage.
This is amazing. I used a Drunk History gif as my theme of the day yesterday (Hawaii Episode: "Ready to Rock and Roll this shit). That's one of the best episodes ever, and Lin will surely top it.
So, how does it work? Does LMM get drunk and tell the story and other actors act out his drunk version? I've seen it once and keep forgetting to try to find it online to watch more. Maybe I will do that this weekend.
Or, he reads someone else's drunk version? That's it, right?

He gets drunk and tells the story while the actors act out what he says. It is hilarious. Season 2 is a bit uneven because they let the tellers get a little too drunk, you have to hit the sweet spot of drunk enough to be funny but not so drunk that it gets away from the teller. Season 3 was good. They have covered some very CEP people/stories.
