So I got DH to listen to nearly the full first act on our flight to NYC. I think we're hitting up Trinity church to see if we can find his grave on Sunday before we leave. Lol

Oh, and I mentioned going to the NY Public Library because they have a Gutenberg bible there. DH looks it up and they have a Hamilton exhibit going on and maybe we should go there. Lol I can't believe he's so into this thing already.

You could also check out the Museum of American Finance:

I'm jealous - LOL. DH is on-board with going to see it, but hasn't gotten sucked in. He's listed to a couple songs, but he has the attention span of a gnat. You have to reall listen to it (*repeatedly*) to really appreciate the genius and the quality, IMO.
A friend is coming over Sunday night for the sole purpose of listening to Hamilton from start to finish. She hasn't heard it before.
I can barely contain my excitement. I sent her pics of the cast and she was all, "Omg. Omg! So beautiful!"
I keep thinking, "Just you wait...just you wait."
This is like giving someone their first piece of chocolate, or booze or pot or other addicitive thing. User beware Everytime i send someone the soundtrack i am all sorrynotsorry.

So I've read like 30 pages of this thread, but can anybody who has gone in NY give me any tips? My mom told me today she wants to go to NY together and see Hamilton, probably in January. We would do a 3 or 4 day weekend and aim for an evening show. I just clicked around a few third party ticket sites and saw some fairly reasonable ticket prices, but I'm not sure what is reputable. Also, I went on the theater site and saw prices start at 199, but I don't see anything remotely close to that (and I'm not looking at third party resellers). Any tips or info would be appreciated!
fuckyourcouch - is avoiding a snow storm not an option? December is much better than January. April next.
that's just when my mom mentioned wanting to go. Â is January really that much worse?
I don't live in NY anymore but my family still does and there is almost always a storm at the beginning of the month and again at the end, then again sometime in February. In January one of the biggest storms in history hit the city. I think they got around 27inches of snow. People were stuck at home or in airports for days. I would not plan to travel there for a vacation during that time if I didn't have to.

I need a DNC performance to happen! I hope they just flash a pic of Cheeto Jesus on screen and the whole cast dances and sings "well he never gonna be president now."
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."

I have images in my head of dancing around on election night when he loses key states singing this.
Wow, really? I wonder if it's tomorrow since today is a matinee day. I know the actress who plays Angelica campaigned frequently for Hillary during the NY primaries.
I am liking the suggestion in the DNC day 2 thread that it could be a performance of 'the Schuyler Sisters' You want a revolution I want a revelation' 'Gonna compel him to include women in the sequel' Etc would be on point

I just watched the "Hameos" clip on bravos website, which was great.
The bit with Javi, though... Are the actresses on that show always so terrible at acting?
Jill Kargman is the writer/showrunner, who plays *Jill*. She's not really an actress, but she's game. You wouldn't have seen Abby Elliot in the clip, but she's awesome on the show!
