We're taking Molly (9) with us in January to see it in NYC.........but Lucy is going to be so pissed when she finds out.
I'd love to take her to Chicago - we can get super cheap flights from MSP. Do you think I'd get dirty looks if I brought a 6 year old to the show?
DD1 started going with us this past season, just before she turned 5. Honestly, all the regular theatergoers love seeing her --- so many little old ladies have asked her which song is her favorite, what she thinks, etc. As long as your kid can handle sitting still for an hour at a time I think you'll be fine.

insominac I missed that you went to Hamilton! How was New Burr?
New Burr was good! Honestly, it took me a while to warm up to him - I was missing LOJ hard. But by Dear Theodosia, he had me. Oh but he had me. His acting was really excellent too.
New Layfayette needs to work a bit on his French accent, but Thomas Jefferson was on point. I also missed Daveed's hair. Lol
New George Washington was fantastic and brought the house down after One Last Time.
The women were all really great - Angelica and Eliza both!
I think because I was so familiar with the music I could really focus on the acting and staging... All the little asides, gestures, etc really stood out. These folks are really great actors and the show is really fantastic.

Got my tickets this morning for August 5th. So excited!
I posted on Facebook and one of my friends said New Burr was one of her best friends all the way up through high school. When it gets closer to August she's going to see if he can meet up with us.

I don't think CJ left - he has a part in a TV show, but I just saw an article where he said they're letting him balance the two - so he films in the morning and performs in Hamilton in the evening.

Maybe he was on vacation when she saw it.
That makes sense... We saw a matinee.
Eta: sorry to freak everyone out! I haven't been following things so I figured all the main folks had left. CJ is amazing and you'll be lucky to see him.

Ha ha, it's ok!
I think the only originals left at this point are CJ, Anthony Ramos and Jasmine Cephas-Jones. Hoping we can catch them in December!
Quick question--how bad is the weather in chicago in late march? I am thinking of trying to get tickets over DS's spring break and doing a short Chicago trip then, as opposed to the summer when we are super busy. (also, I live in the midwest, so its not like I am unaccustomed to cold weather)
It can be pleasant and warm-ish, or it could be snowing. No two years in a row seem to be the same!
Thanks for the notice! I managed to get tickets for April on the app. Seats are okay (Mezz RC in the first 10 rows).
Mine are Mezz R, Row D. I've looked at some seating charts that have that area shaded is "obstructed" but it doesn't say how...but Row C is marked as "good seats". We're 6-8, so near the aisle. I'm hoping it isn't too bad.
I've had such a shitty week (and it is only Tuesday). This is making it so much better. I didn't love putting $400 on the CC we're trying to pay off by December, but I told my DH these tickets can be my Christmas AND Anniversary gift, I'm that excited.
elletr13 , I managed to find a tripadvisor reviewer photo that looks about where we'd be sitting (Mezz CL instead of CR) and it actually looks pretty good! Better than the fuzzy Youtube videos I've seen, anyway.
Good to know. I'm actually in Mezz R, not CR. According to this chart, my seats are just one row behind what they consider "good seats" so I'm hoping it isn't too bad: blog.tickpick.com/bank-of-america-seating-chart/
From what I'm reading, the front of the stage may be difficult to see without straining, but since a lot of the action for Hamilton is on the turntable, they should be more center stage? IDK. I'm also 5'2"...I hope a giant doesn't sit in front of me.
I couldn't get through on two computers or my phone but just wrapped up an order on their automated phone system.

Are they supposed to mail you a receipt when you do the automated? For some reason I thought the system would pull my ticket master account from my number and address and link them to email me a confirmation but that hasn't happened. And ticket master doesn't have humans answering phones to ask.
