I would. It's fun and it's just hair.
I am seriously thinking about doing purple tips/subtle highlights this summer when I am not working. I wanted to last summer but never pulled the trigger. Unfortunately, my hair is black, so it'll be a process.
I've always been pretty "anything goes" when it comes to my kids' hair. It's only hair, it'll grow back. I have one who came home shaved after football practice one day (that's as close as I've come to freaking out over hair), and the other one rocks bushy sideburns and waist-length chestnut brown hair I'd have paid a pretty penny for in my youth. Sadly he wears it in a manbun.

I have a feeling this would end up as an argument with DH. I would be for allowing it, he would probably be against. Heck, I've thought about doing something similar to my own hair if I had a nice, long stretch with no work-related travel.
We've done hair chalk for crazy hair day at school, and it's kind of a PITA.

DS can do whatever he wants to his hair as long as it's within school dress code and kept clean. He's only five, but I can't see myself changing my mind on that.
Since she already has blonde hair, I would. The manic panic teal washes out easily.
My hair holds color really well. I had streaks stripped of color and professionally dyed teal and purple back in late November. I refreshed it in early February. I take a lot of care to preserve the color. The teal has been completely gone for just over a month and was barely there for about 3 weeks before that. The purple is still lingering but has faded to this pale pink. So doing teal once on natural hair will probably only last 2 months, maybe less of she spends time the pool. I say, go for it.
No kids, but I can't imagine having a problem with it. But again, no kids, so what do I know? Lol.
Those who are a hard no, what is the reason exactly? Just curious.
I'm here. I don't see the big deal, especially since it's just the ends, which would presumably be a few inches of longer hair that could easily be cut off without looking bad. I'm also curious about the no responses, especially the "no way absolutely not" ones.

My 5 year old son wanted blue hair so I let him. It was one of the 5 washes thing. It's just hair, so I don't really care what they do with it. Hell, I shaved my 9 year old's head when he came home with lice a few months ago. I wasn't dealing with that shit! (he was okay with it, I didn't do it against his wishes).
My mom used to perm my hair when I was like 7-8 so I'm really breezy about hair. (I would have rather she dyed it for me instead lol).

Ok, I'll bite since I've had some hard root beers. I'm pretty uptight about hair and dress. I don't know if being Southern plays into it or what. There is not an age I would find it appropriate either. I feel like a stick in the mud, but this just would not be done in my social circle.
I was ready to come in here with a hard no, but if it were just the tips I might be okay with it. I would opt for the hair chalk that other mentioned (does anyone remember the hair mascara that was all the rage back in the day?!)
YES and YES - we did the ends (last two inches) of my daughter's hair to start school last August. She loved it. She was 8 at the time and entering 3rd grade.
Yes. Mostly because I would have loved to have been allowed to dye my hair different colors when I was growing up. I was a big fan of all the neon colors but my mom would have killed me. Closest I was allowed to get was using sun-in starting in middle school.
