I was totally in denial about being in labor. I had like 2 contractions on Sunday. Overnight S-M I had woken up once for a contraction, went back to sleep, woke up and had maybe 2-3 while getting dressed (over an 1-1.5 hours), then went to work. They were picking up at work and I finally called after lunch even though they were still 15-20 min apart. A few hours later when I got to the Dr, they were 3-4 min apart and I was 3 cm. DD born 4 hours later.
DD1: Induction, so I was in the hospital in the bed.
DD2: We shall see! I'm seriously contemplating another induction so I can be sure my OB will actually be the one to deliver me. Last time I missed her shift start by 10 minutes, and my delivery was horrible and I didn't love my doc. Definitely do not want that experience again.
In the hospital, both times. With DD1 my water broke at work, but no labor started until after cervadil. With DD2 I started contractions as they were getting me set up to be induced.
In bed. I woke up at 3:30 a.m. with back pain and got up to stretch. My water broke shortly after, and I eventually realized that my back pain was actually back labor.
At work, which just so happens to be the L+D floor where I planned to deliver. I worked 13 hours of my 24 hour shift before one of the nurses finally convinced me to let her check me, and walla, I was 6cm.
I like to say I delivered 3 babies that day, but only one of my own.

DD1 - at the hospital. I ended up being induced. Labor started a couple hours later.
DD2 - at the hospital. I was induced again (AROM this time), but no labor for quite a while. I was just waiting around for a while.
DS1 - at the hospital. I was planning a homebirth, but was induced at the hospital.
DS2 - at home. Planned homebirth. We started the induction process early afternoon, but labor didn't kick in for several hours.
DD3 - at home. Planned home water birth. My membranes started leaking the night before, and we started the induction process the next day, early afternoon just before eating our Thanksgiving meal. Mild contractions kicked in about an hour later, abut I was unconvinced it was actual labor, and still was unconvinced 10 minutes before her birth. I was in denial.
It was a fine, a little wet spot, but more came out when I went to the bathroom right after. I mean you're laying so I think that helps a bit. Do you have a mattress protector? I think most are waterproof.
Detail wise, after it broke I finished painting one of our hallways doors while DH made bacon & eggs. After we ate I called the doc and they said to come in. I was hoping the painting would help get things started but nope. Started Pitocin around 9:30am, DS arrived at 6:45pm.

Went to doctor for routine appointment at 39weeks. Had my membranes stripped (bad idea)...starting having strong contractions at my sister in laws wedding rehearsal that night. Went into the hospital that night. Missed wedding. A wedding that both DH and I were suppose to be in.
My water never broke. The doctor tried to break it but DS head was already causing a plug.
1. In bed at home, contractions started at 12:30am. 2. In bed at home, water broke at 2:30am. (I was quick getting up and had a towel right by the bed, so the towel + my sweatpants caught most of it and it didn't drip down my leg until I had been standing on the hardwood floors a few feet away for a minute. Nothing on the mattress, although we had a waterproof cover on it.) 3. In bed at home, contractions started at 3:30am.
With DS1, I woke up from a nap, ate dinner and was getting ready for bed when the contractions started. H was already asleep when they started and when the pain became more intense, I woke him up and started timing the contractions. Once they reach that 5-1-1 stage, I called the doctor and then headed to the hospital. With DS2, I just woke up and realized I was leaking fluids and had a little cramping. H got DS1 ready for daycare while I laid down on the couch trying to time the contractions. They were all over the place but they were getting more and more painful. Once H dropped off DS1, I called the doctor, went to the office to get checked and then went straight to the hospital.
I just got back into bed after a bathroom trip, around 3:30am. I heard and felt two quick pops. I got out of bed made it to the bathroom before my water began to leak. There was so much of it, and it didn't let up until 11am. It was by far the worst part about being in labor. It was so...moist.
Contractions started around 5:30am, admitted to hospital around 8:30am, and Cervadil started at 10:30am. I finally delivered DS at 1:39am, about 22 hours after my water broke.

In bed at home. Contractions started off no different than the BH I had for a couple of weeks leading up to it, so I didn't think much of it. My water broke after I got out of the shower and that's when I realized it was the real deal.
Home both time, but I WAH some I'm home pretty much all the time.
DD (first) I had some contractions early in the AM but they went away when I got busy at work. As soon as I wrapped up my work for the day I went into a fairly textbook labor. I hung out and had a light dinner and watched TV for a few hours. I texted DH around 10 or so and he came home. We ended resting until about 4 AM or so and then going to the hospital.
DS I work up with contractions but there was no pattern so I felt like it was false labor. We had plans so we went out, came back and I napped for a while. Around 5 pm we had DH's parents come for DD just in case. They left around 8. As soon my DD left my labor really picked up. We went in around 11:00 pm and delivered at 1:30 AM. I think it would have been even faster had I not gotten an epidural.

At home. I had contractions at home every day for 5 days leading up to delivery. But my water broke at home around 1am when I got out of bed to walk around.
At home both times. Both were a few hours after I got home from an OB checkup where my OB discussed my lack of progress and possible induction.
With my first, contractions started gradually. With my second, I had a very painful contraction out of nowhere, I instinctively jumped up off of the couch, and my water broke.
