At work both times but didn't really realize it First time contractions started at work but I wasn't sure what they were. Finished the day went home walked my dog and started timing, they were 5 minutes apart Second time I felt a leaking at work. Didn't know what it was, again finished the day went home, asked on here what I should do and ended up going in. Despite my water having broken I never went into labor until I was given pitocin

pinotgrig, get a waterproof mattress pad on your bed! It's $30 insurance against buying a new mattress.
Water broke MOTN while I was sleeping. It GUSHED and woke me up. when I got to the hospital they said that my membranes "had grossly ruptured." I know it's not the norm, but if it gushes, it gushes.
Of course, contractions never started on their own so it was basically an induction from that point on.
I worry that I wont recognize labor this time if it doesn't start with my water breaking.
1- in the car after a doctor appointment to get my membranes stripped. Started with contractions about 3-4 minutes apart lasting about 1 minute around 11am. 4.5 hour labor. My body doesn't mess around with early labor and such.
2- in bed. Started at 4am with contractions every couple of minutes lasting 60-90 seconds. 2.5 hour labor. Shit got real immediately.
3- at home after dinner. Started around 8pm. Despite my quick labors I went grocery shopping and was barely able to make the 5 minute car ride home. Contractions (although back labor so harder to time) is how it started. 3 hour labor.
With ds1, I was chasing a cat around the house at 6:30am trying to catch her and take her to the vet for surgery at 7am. It wasn't until I got home and laid down to go back to sleep that I realized I was having contractions.
With ds2, I'd just had a membrane sweep, and dh and I were out having brunch when the "hmm, these cramps are kinda regular" realization started.
Target. I was supposed to be induced that day, but they didn't have any beds. So I went to get acupuncture to kick start labor, and an hour later or so, I was walking around Target in labor. We got lunch, because contractions were still kind of far apart, and then walked the halls of the hospital until they were closer and they had a room ready for me. She still broke my water, but I didn't have to be induced.
my water started leaking for the second time that morning so I was already in the hospital and going to do an induction the next morning. Around 11pm my water broke all over the hospital bed and contractions started. She was born 3 hours later.
At home. I was working from home and started contractions. I finished up early and relaxed till things kicked up later that night. Went to the hospital around 3am I think. They broke my water at the hospital.
At home, I was teleworking, but realized an hour or so into the day that I wasn't going to be able to work that day. I labored at home till around 4pm, my midwife finally broke my water around 10pm and DS was born 2 hrs later.
Boring - was induced so at the hospital. Should be the same this time too. The planner in me does like knowing when I'll be having a baby, but I do wonder when I would spontaneously go into labor if allowed to.
DD1 at the hospital (induction). DD2 at work, apparently, thought I didn't realize it at the time. I had painless squeezy contractions all day then went to my doctors appt and I was 3 cm dilated. Had her 4 hours later.
