DS1: At home, sleeping, 6am and woke up to my water breaking.
DS2 & DS3: if you're looking for natural going into labor stories these do not count. I took a labor shake for both of them (past my EDD and wanted to avoid medical induction). Worked like a charm.
I will say I think I labor best in the early morning. DS1 and DS3 were home births and both of them born at 6am. DS2 was a hospital birth and born around 10am.
So if I was going to guess on when I would go into labor it would be early morning at home.
At home. It started the day before, getting either BH or contractions every 10 to 15 minutes then would subside and get close to the 10 minute mark. I didn't sleep well that night waking up almost hourly and feeling uncomfortable. Then at around 4am, things started to pick up. H needed to go to PT but I told him to keep his phone on, they were 10 mins apart. Right at 6.30, I had to call him to come back home so we could head in. LO was born 24hrs later
Both times at the hospital. Two inductions both due to severe pre-eclampsia. After they broke my waters I kept apologizing because it just kept coming and coming and coming...

I was at work and stopped in the bathroom before leaving for the day. I felt a pop while peeing and every time I stood up it just gushed. It was so gross. They told me to come straight in due to GBS+ but I was able to drive myself home (in my brand new car, I grabbed my office cardigan to sit on because I was so worried about ruining it!) to finish packing and feed the cat. They started pitocon right away around 7pm and he was born at 10:48am the next day.
Both of my labors started in a hospital bed, courtesy of Pitocin. DD #1 was induced for medical reasons following a non-reactive NST and a contraction stress test and DD #2 was a scheduled induction.
In bed. I woke up at 4 am with period-like cramps, went to the bathroom since I was up, and lost my mucus plug. I had seen a much smaller piece a couple days prior. I went back to bed and tried to sleep but was really uncomfortable, so I took a shower at about 6:30 or 7, blow dried my hair and wasn't even really sure I was in labor, just felt crappy and blah. I had plans later with a girlfriend that I cancelled, and she called me immediately after I texted and asked about my symptoms and was like, "girl you're in labor!"
I told my husband I thought I was in labor and he said "I need more time" lol
It was 39 weeks exactly, gave birth the next day though.
At home in pjs. Water broke. I thought I peed myself so changed my pants. I soaked thru 3 pairs so when I went to hospital I put on a pair of shorts and used a washcloth like a pad.
I was at home both times. I woke up with mild contractions at 4 a.m. with DD1. With DD2 contractions started at around 5 p.m. and I hopped into my bathtub on and off for the next 6 hours as they progressed.
DS - I was at the horse races at the county fair walking around. Labor started earlier that day, but real labor started when we were walking around looking for crappy fair food, and an hour + from the hospital. Wheee!
DD - I had prodromal labor for a couple of weeks. The day I had her, contractions started and were 5-6 min apart through mid-morning and then stopped. I went out for a 4 mile walk mid day, came back and showered, napped and bounced on my ball. She was born that night.
At home, on a Sunday at 9am. I had very light twinges starting around 6, but by 9am, I knew they were contractions, by 10am I was sure. It's a small miracle that it happened that way in our traffic clogged city!

I was sitting on my couch, watching TV. Felt a few twinges. Then things ramped up quickly, FI thankfully made the "executive decision" that we were going to the hospital and DS was born 3 hours later.
