Randoms - Week of Oct 10

After the past few weeks I've had, I've decided to treat myself to new shoes. I need a new pair of nude flats, but I can't find the right shade for my nude feet. Then I was tempted by a pair of leopard print flats. I have always wanted some, but never bought them. Maybe I will get 2 pairs of shoes.

Nice choice. I love leopard everything. It's neutral!

Everything I want for fall is so expensive. I only want 6-7 things which is good, but they're all ridiculous.

I SO agree.  But there is one shirt I want that is $1K.  I don't know who I think I am, but I have to make hard choices this year lol.

It's actually all probably rather underwhelming given my new monochromatic minimalist shtick lol, but I will post it when I get back from my meeting.

I want to shop shop shop and I shouldn't/can't. I lost over 30 lbs since January so I legit need some clothes but the monies are tight right now.

Oh and add me to the "selling our house" list. Not immediately but probably after the holidays. I want a better laid out house (but not bigger) and a flat backyard that I can throw my kids out and say "play until dinner" but can keep an eye on them while they're out there.

Thanks! That's after I had cleaned up. Some friends were spectating and I saw them at mile 23. I literally stopped and said "this is too hard, I don't know if I can do this". 


But next month I'm headed to NYC to run that marathon. Lol

So there are actually eight.  I think what I've mostly decided is to get 1, 5, and 6.  Then for the holidays, I can think about treating myself to either 3 or 8, but not both. I can nix 2 because I already have so many blazers, even black blazers, and even one that looks like this.  I must nix 4 and 7 because they're too pricey for me anyway,  and luckily, objectively (and sour grapes) speaking, 7 is not all that, I'm just oddly drawn to it.

Moving into a new house has been so stressful. H and I got into an argument today. Ugh. I think I am just so tired and I need some time to myself. I am FINALLY getting my hair done tomorrow. thejackpot I am going to the woman you recommended. I cannot freaking wait. This is so needed.

We are going to see Adele tonight. I have been waiting forever for this concert. I bought the tickets last December. H and I really need this to get us out of this hectic moving funk. I hope we have fun. The weather has gotten nice. Hope it sticks around.

Thanks .  Lol @ tall people clothes.  Yes, I'm tall--well, I'm 5'6.5" (I usually say 5'7"), but people are getting shorter, so it definitely passes for tall now.

Thanks!  The bag is Tom Ford and it does have a strap (but after checking the length, it's probably just long enough for shoulder, not CB).

No, I haven't, that's a great idea, though!  It would definitely help my cause lol.

It's tall enough.  Especially in heels.  I'm only 5'3".  For some reason people swear I'm taller, but it's only because I have long limbs and a large head.  And my husband would add a long neck, but he ain't shit.

Have an awesome time! I took DD1 in July for her first real concert and it was a fabulous!

I'm hoping things slow down a bit, I have way too much on my plate right now. We're waiting to see if the teachers strike tomorrow which will mean that DD1 is home and I have to keep her busy. It'll be fine but it's easier to contain a toddler and get things done around the house, than a preschooler and a toddler together.

The concert was freaking amazing. I think it was the first time i got teary from someone singing a song at a concert. Definitely one of the best. Just what H and I needed. We both apologized and admitted that we are both stressed and lacking sleep.

I took a dress to get tailored, and had to sit through an extended lecture from 90-year-old Italian tailor guy on, "Why did you buy the dress if it didn't fit?"

A. That's your freakin' JOB!?! Why are you bitching at someone for employing you?
B. I'm 5'0" and wear a 36F bra. Where is this magical land of off-the-rack dresses that will fit me, because if it exists I am all for it!

I think this place mostly does custom suits rather than alterations. I can tell they'll do a good job, but hell if I'll go back there.

I'm watching and I love it, although yeah...you kind of hope the Creators get what's coming to them, lol. Honestly, all the actors are SO good.

Since someone brought up t.v. (I know, any excuse) -- let me recommend Timeless. Here's what I posted about it on the Geeks & Gamers board (although really I should have put it on Entertainment...kind of forgot that board existed):


lol, not sure if anyone's even around here anymore, but I watched the pilot of this show and really liked it.  I couldn't care less about the leads, honestly, but this guy from Better Off Ted is hilarious in it:



Some choice lines so far:

 "So the back of the bus was amazing."

"On a scale from Million Man March to Mississippi Burning, how safe do you think I will be out there?"

There's a lot more that's great, but I don't want to spoil everything.  Definitely worth checking out.  I loved this show "Voyagers" as a kid which was very similar...a guy who didn't pay attention in time-travel class and this kid who knows a lot about history travel around trying to "fix" timelines that have gone off course.
