Remember how I said that I made a totally functional computer training with software I've had not any training on and have now had for two weeks? We presented to our director and VP and they are both reeeeeallllly pleased. The slide I used to demonstrate the voice over capabilities was particularly well received. They are talking about having me narrate SOPs for training on the go.
Apparently I've missed my calling as a voice actress.
That's so neat. Now I feel like I need you to narrate this message I am thinking a cool, paced voice that soothes but doesn't bore.
Guys. Last month, my mother sent me some new Mukluk slippers from one of these sites--maybe Zulily or something? Anyway, they sent some dog and cat sample treats in the box, who knows why. I threw them in my kitchen drawer and every week, I mean to give them to my coworker but every week, I forget to grab them. So anyway, I gave one to the dog earlier. Then, at 5, I put some food in her bowl and some water in the other bowl. She killed the water but wouldn't eat any of the food. So I put two treats in the bowl. She ate the treats but no food. So I gave her all the treats. Then I remembered how some people are all "my dog only eats whatever, don't feed my dog anything." I hope that's not the case here and that I didn't feed her the wrong thing? It looks good, all organic and whatnot. But two, I hope she's not going to refuse her other food now. But how is that possible from one treat?

This is a fabulous quality to have! Also, my husband had a client who used to use a voiceover person--he lived on some island and did everything via telecommute!
Every time I hear my voice on recording, I think, "Who is THAT, omgosh, she's the worst ?" I sound like such a grown up lady in my ears, but the recordings all say, "Nope."

Dude, I don't get it. I sound soooooo high pitched to my ears when I hear a recording. But apparently I sound like an adult. lol
My coworkers have been teasing it about me almost hourly now.
I'm going to a meet up group for brunch tomorrow morning. I almost convinced myself not to go because I would love to still be lounging around at 10:45 when I need to leave, since Saturday is my only day off of work, but hopefully it'll be worth it. It is all black women that have RSVP'd so I hope it goes well. I've done meet up groups for playing soccer, but not for any other social activities, so I'm excited to be doing something new.
My friend from Ghana decided he wanted to hang out, but not till almost 10pm. Yolo! So here I am. He just ran in to the gas station so I'm waiting for him and then we are going to hang out at a bar. I'm regretting saying yes to that brunch in the morning already!
The bunch was so fun! Everyone was really nice and we had great conversation. I can't make the next outing which is a happy hour. But there is a dinner and a brunch scheduled for Nov that I should be able to make. Some of them have been getting together for awhile and seems like have become good friends. Yay for more (black) friends.
We took DD to the pumpkin patch today. There is a really good one almost directly across the street from our new house. I am so glad we decided to move here. Now if we can just get everything out of boxes and put away.

meshaliuknits That'/ awesome about the execs liking your work. Most people don't like the sound of their recordedvoice, me included. I think I posted an article a whole back about this exact phenomenon and why are our voices sound so weird to us.
sfy Did I miss you getting a dog or are you dog sitting? 8 really hope it's the former, because I can only imagine how fly your dog would be. One treed shouldn't stop them from eating more, but if you are dog sitting and/or a dog is in a new environment they may not eat.

Lol! I'm just sitting. I am not equipped for a dog, that is what I have learned since yesterday morning. She's very good and super low maintenance, but it's still too much for me. Picking up feces? I spend my whole life practicing fecal avoidance and now I'm actively seeking it out . It's wrong. Also, and not on a completely unrelated note, I'm washing my hands 88 times a day. This morning, her tags jingled and woke me up at 5.45. I'm a light sleeper (now anyway--more old age fuckery).
Anyway, I'm glad you told me this. She has barely been eating. Per her care guide, we're to put a half bowl of food out for her at her feeding times. She's eaten less than half of it each time, which was worrying me. I wanted to call her folks, but DH said I was worrying too much. So okay, I guess it's just the foreign environment.

sfy I love that she has a care guide! She'll eat when she wants to. Also, re the treats, dogs will specifically pluck them out and leave food. It's like they have opposable thumbs. It's rather comcical to watch.

It's my last Sunday at work for a couple of months, wahoo. My boyfriend is flying in for the day and leaving tomorrow. I'm bummed I'll be at work until around 7. But he made dinner reservations for tonight to a restaurant I've been wanting to go to, so I'm excited about that. I was pleasantly surprised that he remembered I had mentioned I wanted to go there
I plan to have several drinks, but then I think I'm going to start on a "detox" tomorrow of no alcohol for a few weeks...we'll see how that goes lol.
Also, maybe I'll remember to take a pic for ootd tonight! Everyone have a great rest of the weekend.
Cleaning, meal prep, and maybe taking the little one to breakfast. I was thinking of taking my oldest and her BF to a pumpkin patch but H is cutting his outting short to get home and food shop so that may not happen.
I think the dog is depressed. She seems very down. I walked her for an hour earlier and took her to Petsmart for new toys. Yet she's still lying around looking bummed and she barely touched the toys. H is on his way home from golf, I think he/we should take her to the dog park.
DS may stop by later today so I'm cooking and finally going to make the Rice Krispies treats I've been plotting on for days. If he comes, I won't end up eating the whole pan myself, which is good. If he doesn't, then I will, which is the other kind of good .

Aw, poor doggie. How long have you been watching her? How much longer? I promise it's not you. Some dogs just get really attached to their people and get out of sorts when they're away from them. You're doing all the right things, Maxx would love you for life if you took him to Petsmart.

Here's hoping she perks up soon.
Thank you . She's only been here since Friday morning and she leaves tomorrow morning. She ate much better than she has been this morning, so that was good. Maybe I'll take her back to Petsmart this evening then. She doesn't care about the toys but she definitely seemed to love sniffing their floors lol. And she encountered two other dogs she seemed to like.

I am about to freaking lose it. Sister's party is next week, I have been doing the heavy lifting. We're having a conference call now. Menu was pretty set, now all of a sudden things are changing and expanding. Make up your damn mind. I've got stuff to do. Stop making it hard. Ugh.

Why in the world is anyone trying to make changes the week before? How annoying. I hope it's smooth sailing moving forward.
I was tempted to respond in the new randoms but let's leave this headache in last week lol.
