No, his dad cut him off after the bad business deal. He wasn't working for his dad at all.
(Sorry I'm a season 7 apologist lol)
I really don't think Logan and Christopher are the same. I can see how ASP wants them to be. I thought it seemed like he was waiting for Rory to say that she wanted him since she turned him down in season 7.
She really didn't even watch it?
No she didn't.
Also, did she forget Chris is rich now? That happened in S6. And now the only reason he can spend all kind of money is because of his dad's expense account?

The expense account stuff was kind of weird. I don't know. The whole interaction was weird I guess. Well obviously Rory was awkward, but usually Chris acts a little more like family and less like a stranger. I thought he was more self aware toward the end of the regular series, but he was back to being clueless.

I think I remember there were a couple of things ASP was going to ignore happening in season 7 for the revival. I wonder if Christopher's dad dying and leaving him money was it.

God Rory is an overindulged, selfish, cheating, bitch! I let it slide during high school and college because young adults make lots of mistakes, but it's not a good look to be a side piece at 32. Lorelai never would have done that. She was furious when she cheated with Dean. Rory really never grew up.
I've always loved Jess, even as an angry 17 year old. He's her Luke.

Then I have no idea. Maybe Christopher already burned through the money? That wouldn't shock me given his track record.
I can't quite work out the timing, but do you think Rory was pregnant when Logan came back with Colin/Finn/the other guy? She was staring out the window and nearly crying and he asked what was going on in her head. Then at the end, lLorelai asked nearly the exact same question, what's going on in there?
After some time, I don't think Logan is her Christopher. I think she has a deeper connection to Logan and really wants him, where Lorelei did love Christopher but more in a first love kind of way. When Rory asked if he was going to marry Odette, Logan pretty much was saying, "Not if you say so." I think Logan would leave everything for Rory but for some reason she just can't do the same. And I don't think it is that Logan isn't right for her, but that she wants to be a strong independent woman and THEN get married. And now that's all gone to hell.
I 100% agree that Logan was waiting for Rory to tell him to leave Odette.
Logan already made his intentions clear with Rory once, I think this one was on her.
I also agree that's a shitty way to start a life with each other...imagine the backlash from that community.
I love that Emily left the community she was so intertwined with, to go out and be independent. Just like Lorelei did so many year before.

Not the point, I know, but was the idea that the British woman Rory was writing about was the one footing the bill for all of Rory's flights to London? Because how could Rory be broke but afford all those trans-Atlantic flights?
I slept on it and still don't care for the ending. I actually would like an ending where Rory ends up single and not with any of the guys but I don't like the pregnancy story line. I know she is older than her mom was when she was pregnant, but otherwise, it is kind of the same thing that Lorelei went through and I don't think that fits Rory's character, or at least the Rory from HS/college. I don't know. I'm having trouble expressing my thoughts on this lol.
And though Logan is hot, I am team Jess all the way. I agree with the poster that said Jess always pushed Rory to be a better version of herself and Logan did not. I like to think that Jess and Rory end up together someday.
Well they certainly painted Rory as someone who might forget birth control (eta: this sounds more shamey than I meant it to - I just meant that it aligned with her whole not knowing where her underwear is, etc.). I hate who she turned into in the second half of the original run. I know Paris is hard to get along with, but I can't imagine even her staying friends with Rory after a decade of her antics. I thought the SandeeSays thing was the perfect example - they wanted her, but she still came totally unprepared.
The Sookie scene was the only time I laughed out loud.
It really is interesting to watch it as an adult. I am about the same age as Rory, and on the rewatch I remembered my youth but found myself more drawn to Lorelei and Emily's story lines. The same held true in AYITL for me too.
I have a stupid continuity question about Michel. I must have missed something. In Spring, she thought he was going to leave. In Summer, he told her he was leaving. Why does he still work there in Fall?
The time thing created odd transitions and continuity issues in this version (i.e., not much changed from the original run lol).

GQ is Condé Nast. The lines piece was the outcome of that, no?
Ya, but did she ever finish that? She was supposed to come back with a pitch. So she started the lines piece and fell asleep (wtf). And then did she pitch it? Or submit it?
I think we're supposed to assume she pitched it and nothing came of it? I mean she and Loralai then visited all those lines together. I think she finished the piece, her falling asleep wasn't her only interview. She ended up with the geeks and the Wookie.
Do you think that the reason they didn't have Jess and Rory get together was because of how awful Milo is IRL?
Is he? I hear conflicting opinions on this. I know there was that one report of him yelling at Alexis Bledel when they were dating and calling her a C but then read that was unsubstantiated? And that people seem to think he's super nice now?

Yeah, even being pretty much the same age as Rory is now, I identify far more with Lorelai and Emily's story lines. I don't have much interest in Rory's, tbh. She also isn't as compelling to watch, IMO, whereas Lauren and Kelly are both incredible in their roles. I find Alexis kind of boring to watch.

Oh and probably a flame full but I hated the scene with Sookie. It was so obviously done that way because she wanted to be a part of it but was probably really limited on time due to her other work obligations. Still this scene seemed so thrown together just to have her in it for a minute.
If they got Melissa for a five minute scene, I wish those five minutes would have been at the end and have her be there for Lorelei's wedding.

Who knows!
He is the only one she didn't physically interact with. Dean and even those idiots from the Life & Death brigade got hugs. They just looked at each over across a desk.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."

The more I think about it, the more "meh" I am about the whole thing. I loved being back "in Stars Hollow," I loved seeing all the characters again, and it was fun to watch, for nostalgia's sake if nothing else.
But a lot of it didn't jive with me. We never really got a conclusion to the Paris and Doyle story line. And I can't picture Paris having kids. We hardly got to see Lane at all even though her and Rory were BFFs (and maybe this was an issue with Keiko's schedule, who knows). If Lorelei was supposed to be starting her hike at the southern terminus of the PCT, which is where most people start, that was not what it looks like (lol petty and trivial, I know, but it bugged me!) I fucking HATED the Paul story line. It was not even remotely funny or believable. I don't get at all why it was in there.
I think I may re-watch all four episodes in time and maybe feel differently about them. I still loved Emily's story line and how L&L's relationship ended up. But a lot of the other stuff....meh. Like I said, enjoyed being back in this world and it was entertaining to watch.
