Has anyone looked up their corral? I'm in D. My marathon time that got me in is one of my slower ones and I'm debating trying to see if I can move up. I don't care that much since it's more of a training run for me (for a 50k) but if more of you would be in another one maybe I would try and finagle it
I'm in D as well. I've got no ambition to move up although my London time was much faster than Paris, so theoretically I could. I'm not training for a PB on this - just to actually enjoy it and do it comfortably.
I am also D....LOL, but if I even START this race, I'll likely go back a few corrals. Looks like C is sub-3:30, and I think I used my Mountains to Beach time which was 3:32.
clseale, happy to take it super casual. I'm definitely NOT racing this one. I must have used my Paris time which was 3:43. I did London in 3:32 but I'm not on that pace right now (not for that kind of distance anyway).

Yes, that makes sense. Looks like corral D is for 3:30-3:45 qualifying times.

Are you ladies thinking Friday for a GTG? Would love to see/meet you and plan out my posters! ;-)
I could probably make that work! We were originally planning to fly in Saturday morning, but the more I think about it that might be too stressful. I don't want to stress potential flight delays running up against packet pick-up. I can't believe we're only 2.5 months out now - I guess I need to book flights!
We're at The Whit. Just a few blocks off of the NW corner of Millennium park.
Woot, we're close! Are you def running?? You seemed on the fence for a bit.
I'm still very much on the fence. Considering dropping back a few corrals and joining some of you guys. DH is definitely running though (also with minimal training, but much more than me), so we'll definitely be in Chicago.

You're welcome to pace me to a ~4:10 Glad I'll get to meet you in any case!
chitownbelle, I'm up for anything! I'm arriving Friday 3pm. I'm staying in a place that hannahb booked so I'm not certain where it is. I did look it up at the time but have forgotten the name now!

Ha! I had to look it up too. Pittsfield apartments near the park. Northwest corner. I'm definitely in for getting together Friday. I get in around 7:30 in the morning. I do not know chicago AT ALL so someone else make the decision of where to go
We haven't booked yet, but I think our plan is to take a flight in the morning on Friday. Which means we are also available for Friday night plans. We'll probably get a morning flight out on Monday to get back to L.
At Charleston we had a group text going around that was helpful with everyone getting in at different times. I can take the lead on this. I guess pm me your phone number and I can start it. It was through the group me app. Does anyone want to take the lead and try to get reservations somewhere on Friday evening or after the race on Sunday? Anyone interested in doing touristy things on Saturday. I don't want to spend all day walking but would like to see some of the city

So - if you've never run Chicago before, the expo is gigantic and awesome and you will want to buy all the things. Particularly from Nike who has the official gear. The lines at Nike will be looonnng. You can also possibly get Nike stuff the next day at the Nike store (Michigan ave) but don't totally count on it cause sizes run out. Nike store also does medal engraving the next day (so does Fleet Feet).
Touristy stuff to do - The Chicago Architecture Foundation runs a boat tour up the river. You get to sit on your butt and see all the skyscrapers and learn about them. People love it. We also have one of those Big Bus hop on/off tours. I'm sure there are other more interesting tour type stuff, but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Also - you could just go to Millennium park, see The Bean and then get a drink or apps at Cindy's rooftop across the street. London house also has a decent (and less crowded) rooftop bar but is across from Trump tower, so there's that...
Also - for your support crew - I have a spreadsheet that allows you to enter your estimated pace and it will tell your loved ones where they can see you along the route - including L stop information. It's super handy - I got it through CARA (Chicago running association) when I've run the marathon before. And I don't believe they ever change the course - but I'll check with my CARA peeps and see if there is an updated one. PM me if you want it.

So excited for you guys!!
That's amazing, thank you!! I will be definitely buying All The Things. Because I love souvenirs from running big races. For the tracking thing, I have my Garmin set for LiveTrack so my boyfriend gets precise information on where I am (but annoyingly also pace etc) so I'm covered. More importantly, we'll get to see you while we are there, right?
