Ulta didn't have the cleanser I wanted today so I picked up the "pH balanced" one from Alpha Skin Care. Except the bottle itself (not the box) says the pH is 6.2.
Yay I got an Ulta email for 20% off everything which is great because I need a new Origins moisturizer. I've gone a bit crazy ordering things this weekend. I haven't been feeling very good this month so I decided to get some things I've been wanting.
I went to marshalls and tj maxx today to browse the beauty section as usual. I don't know why I enjoy doing this so much, but I do. Anyways both had tons of the schmidts natural deodorant for 3.99 (I know a few people have wanted to try it around here) I found a boscia Japanese cleansing ritual gift set that was on clearance for 16. It has my favorite cleansing oil in it and it's full size (full size oil is 32 normally) Score!
They also had some karuna sheet masks there. Box of 4 for 9.99. Anyone tried these? I was curious, but not curious enough for 10 dollars worth. Lol

Beauty Brands currently has their friends and family sale going. 25% off makeup and skincare. 30% off hair care and nail polish. I ordered more Dr Goss Alpha Beta peels and some dry shampoo. I looked at the makeup, but couldn't find anything that really struck me.

Omg thank you! I love those dennis gross peels! I still can't afford to use them daily so I'll do 3 days a week at that price!

I only use them 2-3 times a week too. They seem to work just as well for me that way.

I got a 20% off my entire purchase at Ulta. Still debating what to get. I have work travel coming up over the next couple of months and that makes me want to buy makeup.
I've started using the First Aid Beauty kit that I picked up around the holidays, and I might try some more things from their line. Or some of the new Smashbox Cover Shot palettes are really pretty, and they are doing 5x points on Smashbox right now.
I also need to re-stock on Bare Minerals foundation.

Those smashbox palettes look pretty. I've been living the Tarteist pro palette and I'm not usually a Tarte eyeshadow fan
I'm not sure what to get either. I kind of want a new hair towel but that's about it. I'll have to see whether they sell it in the store.
If anyone needs a lipliner the Maybelline Color Sensational liners are pretty good. I got the toffee one Tati was raving about and I think it's similar to the Tarte liners.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain
Has anyone used the Baby Feet exfoliater thing? Good?
I got 2 on Amazon a couple months ago and almost forgot about them. My H has super dry heels, so I'm hoping it helps him. I ordered them after reading this article, which contains some good tips:
We are leaving for vacation in 2 weeks, so I think this is the perfect time to do it and get my feet ready for flip flops and sandals. I know what I'm doing tonight! LOL.
I tried one of the Tarte lip paints and my lips looked absolutely terrible by the time I got home. Holy cow, that's going back.
I thought the same thing. The old formula wasn't as long lasting, but the new formula is so drying.
Interesting, I actually really like the lip paints. I don't think they feel dry at all, almost a moussey like texture. I never tried the old formula though.
I'm see a lot of pastels in eye palettes. How are people wearing them? With darker contouring in the crease? I'm just wondering how to avoid the female cartoon character from the 50's look (a la Daffy Duck with sky blue eyeshadow).
Recently I've developed hyper pigmentation wherever I had a pimple and it's so annoying. Is it the retinol I started using? anything I can do to prevent it?
What is great about it? (Said woman who is looking for new foundations)
It's the perfect consistency, spreads well, and has a nice medium coverage.
I'd gotten Hourglass Illusion, and it was so thick and settled into my pores like tiny saucers of pigment. And LancĂ´me Teinte Idole was too much like a paint. Thin and painty. Maybelline Dream BB is great for a less "done" look.
And I've learned after much error that I don't want the makeup people at Sephora or Nordstrom to help or match me. It never goes well. I just need to do my thing on my own to find the right one, and wear it all day to see how it looks in different lights and over time. That's what I did with NARS Sheer Glow, twice in fact. So I was sure when I spent that $50 (with tax) that I liked it.
I think you and I have similar concerns based on things you've mentioned--redness and pigmentation and staving off times winged chariot hurrying near. So you should give it a shot.
mrsukyankee- I'm on the Nars Sheer Glow bandwagon of love too. I bought this when my MAC Waterweight foundation ran out in December. The Sephora lady who did my Christmas Eve makeover used it on me and I just loved how it covered a bit of redness and my pigmentation issues without looking cakey and gross. She also told me it came with a pump, but not that it was a "sold separately" thing. I bought a pump off Nordies website for $6, and I can re-use it when I get a new bottle. This really is my perfect foundation, since I'm not able to get a color match anymore with my previous HG foundation.
