Busy, busy day today. We have to drive to Athens for a karate tournament this morning, so I am already up, showered, and dressed. We get home this afternoon, then I have hair and makeup appointments for a wrap party tonight. I generally despise these things because I don't know anybody, but it's an open bar and I get to hang out with my best friend from Chicago who used to be a talk show host, so it should be mildly amusing.

It's Opening Day at the ball field today. The day kicks off with a parade and then both kids have a game. At different times, 2 hours apart. I'm going to volunteer for Connor duty so I can escape for a while.
Also, has the fidget spinner craze hit your areas? These things sell out in one day around here. Both of my older kids have one and I love to play with them.
If by best friends, you mean that several times a year, we're in the same room and she recognizes me but would never know my name, yes. Just call me new Gayle. 😝
Also, our cleaning people must have thrown away my deodorant. It was missing this morning, but was there yesterday. I had to use DH's, so now I have manly smelling armpits.

Birthday weekend for T! Today is his party and his first t ball game of the season, and tomorrow is his birthday!
Of course I was worried all night he was getting sick. But I am reasonably convinced now that it is seasonal allergies. We've had days of rain and yesterday was the first sunny day. His nose is stuffy. But thankfully no other symptoms and no fever. So I am loading him up on Zyrtec and hoping for the best.

They are not allpwed in my classroom because they were being abused. I hate those damn spinners!

Ugh. Fidget spinners. Pretty much every kid in my class has one. And they are not allowed to use them in class because they are distracting to everyone. And of course, one went missing yesterday out of a cubby. I am so over them.

Pretty sure every single teacher will respond the same way that we just did.

That seems to the consensus everywhere. B (2nd grade) isn't allowed to bring his to school or in the bus (my rule) but he said lots of kids do. I bet they'll be banned soon!
Caleb's birthday party is today, but he still only has 2 kids coming. Dh is going to invite the kids from the T-ball team, in a kind of, "Hey, I know this is last minute, but if you're available. None of the kids from his preschool can come."
We have pictures today! Just of the kids thankfully. I am so excited though. We will be at a battle field (Antietam) which will be fun. We've had pictures there before and they are beautiful.
My grandpa is doing an honor flight to D.C. today with my dad as his escort. I hope they have a great time, they're both so excited! I watched the video of their motorcycle escort to the airport and I cried. Lol! It's just so sweet and I'm glad my grandpa gets to have experience this.
I hope he has a great time! My H has done a number of send offs at our local airport and the videos get me everytime.
imimahoney - Noooooooooo!! I shuddered reading that. I hope he's a Lone Ranger and doesn't have any friends nearby!
I'm a terrible soccer mom. Rain and thunderstorms have been forecasted all week and I thought for sure G's game would be canceled. Alas, the storm won't hit until afterwards now and I'm cranky about it. I have so much to do!!
It's snowing here, it hasn't snowed since the beginning of January so I packed away all the cold weather gear.
My parents got home from a long vacation and offered to watch the kids, so date night with Indian food tonight it is!
A is getting her hair temporarily dyed (it lasts like 15 washes I think?) for her birthday, she's been begging to have blue streaks in her hair since she turned 3. I hope no one judges me lol.
DD and I jut saw "Life in China" and it was so wonderful!
As we were walking out I asked DD what she learned. To which she replied, "I learned that mamas do all the work. Where in the world were the daddies?!". Baaahahahahaha!
My H bought a million traps and we caught him! Not sure if can still live, we put down peanut butter and poison. Sorry little mouse!
I'm glad you caught him. I'm going to make a plea to not put down poison though. It's so bad for the environment. Rodents are important food sources for owls, bobcats, fixes, etc. and rat/mouse poison is a huge problem for all of those species.

Taekwondo tournament done. That was exhausting. He did well, though, and won a medal. I'm proud, but secretly hoping he doesn't want to keep doing these things. 😝
