At the vet right now with our dogs. Annual checkup, vaccines, etc. But our golden has lost 13 pounds since his last visit (from 72 to 59)! I asked them to check him for heartworm and diabetes. Waiting now.
Update: didn't see anything wrong on a full chemistry panel. Heartworm negative on both dogs. Recommended Science Diet JD (which is for joints, but he said dogs gain weight on it), and feeding our 2 dogs separately so the little fat one isn't stealing the big skinny one's food. I'm going to do some research since I haven't really heard good things about Science Diet.
Thanx ladies, I feel much less emotional about the decision this morning.
Also the fire did not grow over night, it is at 380 hectares. The winds are supposed to stay down today and we are not supposed to get as warm here so all of that will help with the fire.

I just realized I didn't have coffee today. Actually no caffeine. Hopefully I don't get a headache from the lack of caffeine.
I bought a new backpack. The price was great thanks to back to school specials. I wanted a unique pattern so i know it's mine. It will double as my vacation backpack too. I bought one with mustaches all over it lol. I find it funny as an adult I'm excited for a new backpack, as a kid it was the worst day ever when my mom bought me one.
I have to go to my mom's later to hook up her life alert system. FX I don't end up calling for an ambulance trying to set it up lol. She's excited that I'm bringing Chinese food with me for dinner.
ewall I actually laughed out loud when I saw her face in that one picture!! Terrible of me!!!
pooh8402 how about I tell you how the OTHER two kids behaved? There were three chairs in the room where they did the cleanings. Both boys were at their first appointments too. I actually had hope when I saw L watching them be soooo good for their Hygienist. They watched as she showed them the equipment they would use. They laid back in the chairs to watch cartoons from the suspended televisions above the chairs during the actual cleaning. Their Moms didn't have to use force to hold them down. There was no crying or screaming while they were getting their teeth cleaned.
MY KID...who has never had an issue with doctors...had this weird "something is about to go down look" on her face the minute she walked in. Why?! I don't know. The pediatric dental office was bright and cheery. The staff was super sweet when we checked her in. They had cartoons on TV's on the wall, toys galore, kids books around...etc. the exam room was even fun looking. I even had to carry her back to the exam room when she would normally walk back with me just fine. It's like she was psychic about what was going to go down. The staff was so patient and kind with her. But eventually, we had to hold her down so they could do the cleaning. After the cleaning, they gave her a tooth brush. She really liked that and talked about her "too brush." But it resumed when we had to lay her back again for the dentist to check her out. I was trying to encourage her and be reassuring the entire time...she was just not wanting to trust these people LOL
MrsMB Oh dear God... I hope. He is normally great with doctors and nurses. But they're usually not poking in his mouth very long (just long enough to check tonsils/throat).
MrsMB - If it helps, L's reaction is what is expected of first visits. In my experience, two calm boys were definitely exceptions! I have no doubt that it didn't even phase the staff in the office. It's worth it to get her used to the process, so when she's older it'll be no big deal for her when you go.
pooh8402 - I'm so sorry about your dad! I'm glad that he's going to be okay. My FIL had a pretty major stroke a couple of years ago, and doesn't have any lasting effects from it. Hopefully your dad has a similar recovery!
