I left The Nest years ago and recently decided to check it out again. I arrived just in time to watch the clusterfuck conversion and exodus. I think I like the newness of this board better.


1.) What was your "home board" on the nest? When did you first join?
I think it was around 2003. I was mostly on Married Life. My contemporaries were Gerbil and OctoberBrideGirl/OBG (her holiday CD is still mandatory listening for me around xmas). Would love to know how they are and if they have been seen in the last few years. I don't know what board(s) I will call "home," but besides liking the topics here there are some sad complications in my life that make TIP make sense.

2.) If you're comfortable sharing with a bunch of internet strangers, where do you live?
Hoping for a little anonymity this time around. I live in a state in the middle of the country with mountains.

SQA manager (IT)

Married 8 years, 2 kids (DD is 2 and DS is 4)

Dancing (ballroom, swing, mid-eastern)

6.) Political affiliation?
Unregistered, but socially liberal. To summarize I think adults should be able to marry whatever other consenting adult(s) they want, women should be able to make choices about how many babies they have, and how people look and/or the languages they speak should be completely irrelevant to how they are treated.

I'm a registered R, but I hate the direction the party has taken and realize more and more that I am really more left than I thought. My view: leave the uterus alone, we have bigger problems, let's spend our money helping ourselves instead of dumping money and lives into wars/conflicts in other countries where they hate Americans anyway, everyone needs better healthcare/more access to care.

1. Joined knot in '03, was on the nest since it started with only a few boards and ML was the general place to go. No real home board after it got diversified, and not enough time to establish a real presence on one anyway.

My home board was actually the Cincinnati Know / Planning & Etiquette / New York Knot (I was a NY bride planning a wedding in Cincinnati). Around spring / summer 2007 I found E08, and P&CE became my forever home. []

This is still a tough question for me. I hate politics and don't trust politicians. I think both parties are ridiculous. Sometimes I agree with one side; sometimes with the other; sometimes with neither. I have very strong religious views, but I am not actively trying to impose them on others. Having said that, I still have social conservative views and can not officially support anything that goes against my religious views. I think I tend to respond to this question by saying I'm Catholic first and foremost.
