Too early?
What are your kids asking for for Christmas/Hanukkah/holidays this year? How old are they? Are they getting what they want? Are you doing Santa? Have you already bought anything?
Already have: - 2 WellieWishers - dress up princess stuff
Going to order: - the wellie wishers house thingie - Welliewishers outfits to match her dolls - Carrot stuff for WellieWishers - some sort of keyboard piano because she is weirdly obsessed and has been asking for it for a year. I'm sure I will regret this.
We have no chill when it comes to Christmas gifts for her. I've decided to just embrace it.
ETA: Forgot that I already bought a Luvabella doll since it is projected to be a hot item this year. We'll see.

DD is 4 - she wants that huge LOL Surprise thing that hbombdiggity secured for me at her Target (woot!).
She's also into the tiny little Hatchimal eggs (they're like $10 for a 4 pack) so I grabbed those. I'm hoping to also get her a microphone/karaoke machine if anyone has suggestions, and a Harmony Care Bear.
DS is 2 and I have no clue what to get him. He just got a lot of stuff for his birthday. Looking for ideas.
We do Santa. We celebrate Hanukkah but do not do Hanukkah gifts.

DH told me this morning it's 2 months from Christmas Eve. NOT TOO EARLY!! I already booked an appointment w/Santa at the mall. Tentative list
DS (turns 4 in Feb - might hold something back for then) Hot Wheels track (we gave it to his friend and it's all he talks about wanting from santa) Radio flyer wagon Transformer Walkie Talkies Etch-a-sketch baseball glove Lego Batman stuff Batbot costume for dress up Books (where the wild things are, dragons tacos type book) scissor cutting practice Games: connect 4, Trouble
DD (just turned 1) play stroller play cradle skip hop back pack comfy chair (smaller than anywhere) etsy prints chick a chick a boom boom sit n spin décor for her next room clothes
Ugh yall somehow DH has convinced my parents my kid needs a powerwheel thing for Christmas. He was having her try ones out Saturday in Toys R Us.
I thought we were getting her a tent for the playroom, but apparently that is now off the table as well. SO I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT MY KID IS GETTING NOW! Guess I should ask her.
I do have (she's 4.5): - more magnatiles and going to add a couple expansion packs - books - moana dress up
On a good note the IL's are done! Ordered plaques and desktop calendars for them with shutterfly freebies and codes. My parents wall calendar is done, just need to add another small thing for them.

Nothing bought yet but I need to get on it since we celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas. Hanukkah they’ll get a present first and last night and candy for the others. Christmas we still do Santa. They’re now into video games so we’ll get stuff related to that probably.
My twins will only be 6 months old in December so we’ll certainly do gifts, but I’m trying to be practical. I’m also trying not to go overboard because my family is insane, and will likely get them a ton of stuff. We don’t have a very big house so I need to be mindful of storage space!
Santa will bring a jolly jumper and exersaucer them to share. Their stockings will have cups/bowls/spoons for when they start solids. Then we are planning on the want/need/wear/read philosophy. So a fun toy, some bath toys, an outfit and a book.
May still seem like a lot for babies but it’s nothing compared to the entire Toys R Us store that shows up in the living room for my niece and nephew each year 🙄 lol
DD will be six months old at Christmas. I haven't bought anything for her yet. I'm sure she will be spoiled by others since she's the only baby in the family so I don't want to go overboard (especially since she has no idea WTF is going on) ... but I would like to get her one or two things from us.
I need to get her a stocking but I have no idea what to put in it since she's not eating solids just yet.
I have my eye on an eco-friendly Starter Toys set with stacking cups, keys, and a pull elephant. I might be able to get it locally at Whole Foods, otherwise I'd have to order it. Costco has a Fischer Price Playtime Classics set for $17 ... and a learning walker for $20, although it's probably still too early for that and I'd rather not store stuff for months.
I think we will do Santa when she's old enough to comprehend.
For other kids ... I picked up a Secret Life of Pets action figure and snack cup at Macy's Backstage for our close friends' 5 year-old last weekend. I only bought it so early because SLOP stuff is hard to find, plus they were cheap. I will eventually find some kind of toy for his 3 year-old sister, and maybe an outfit or PJs for each of them as well.
We'll be meeting MH's cousin for a Brunch with Santa event before Christmas, so we need something for her 3 year-old DS, and another cousin's 2 year-old DD if they also attend.
IDK if we will be visiting MH's other extended family ... if we do, there are 10 kids on their side ranging from 2-18 years old.
ETA: melsbels I like your stocking stuffer and jumper ideas! I also like the want/need/wear/read philosophy and would like to implement that once DD is old enough to ask for things.
My girls are (about-to-be)7 and 5. They both want: - Hatchimals (I already bought them) - American Girl WellieWishers dolls (grandparents are getting these to be "from Santa" at their house)
They have also asked for these toys/characters, but I'm not sure which ones they'll end up getting: - L.O.L. Surprise dolls - Chubby Puppies - My Little Pony Movie toys (we have a big MLP collection already, but now they make Seaponies, lol. Of course.) - Aquabeads/refills - Shopkins - Kid makeup
Other ideas I have for them: - Room decor (Target has adorable PillowFort stuff) - Pajamas - Doll clothes/accessories - Fur Real Friends - Little Live Pets
DD (just turned 1) play stroller play cradle skip hop back pack comfy chair (smaller than anywhere) etsy prints chick a chick a boom boom sit n spin décor for her next room clothes
are you eyeing one in particular? I'd love one with a smaller footprint than the anywhere.
BB will be a month shy of 2 this year, so I think she will get it a little more. I don't want to buy her a lot, since I am sure others will. Plus I am anti-"stuff" for her.
We will do Santa this year, but early enough that we can avoid crowds or lines. I am curious to see how she reacts.
Anyway, here are a few things I've thought about for her, (we will do one or two of these at the most):
- pretend food for her play kitchen - a table and chairs for her room to play on/color on/etc. - a plasma car or similar - more duplos
I will probably put books etc. in her stocking since she can't seem to get enough of them.

They made out last year, so this year we're sticking to the four gift model. Plus, all of their birthdays are in Nov and Dec and this baby is due in Feb, so we're sticking to a strict budget this time.
Dd1 (13 in early Dec): Her "want" is nail polish stuff. She's big into taking care of and doing her nails. If funds weren't limited, she wants video editing software for her art youtube videos.
Dd2 (11 in two-ish weeks): Cat ears that move based on your emotions. Lol.
Ds2 (8 on Kwanzaa - 12/26): Video games.
Dd3 (3 in four weeks): We're going to get her an easel for her "want."

scm1011 , not eying anything in particular - the anywhere and the knock off version just seem too big*.
DS uses a Paw Patrol upholstered chair from Target - it was like $20. He LOVES it and at 4 it's a fine size for him still. But DD loves it too, so she needs a chair. TJMaxx had nice ones but they rocked and I don't want that feature.
Take it from me, don't spend a ton - DS's chair gets so dirty from food, pee accidents, etc.

DS will be 2.5. I was thinking his biggie would be Brio trains with a table, but DisJr marketing is already working as he gets super excited when he sees the commercial for this Thomas playset:
If anyone is looking for a coding toy for a younger child, DH bought DD the Cubetto last year via Kickstarter and it really is great. She loves it and it is fun to do together.

My son turns 5 in Feb. The target is 5 gifts for him. I don't like to overbuy.
These are things he has really seemed to want. I will buy mid-December or earlier only if I see a deal. - Imaginext Batman playset - Dress up set from Costco - has police, fire, army, something else (4 vests, hats & accessories) - Set of 5 one-step changing Transformers from Target - probably a board game - probably a DVD
My mom will likely get him something small. She does not buy a lot of presents.
Santa helps to deliver, but parents are responsible for buying the gifts. I have told him that we need to stick to a budget and decide on things we really want.
DD will be about 17 months. Last year we got SO MUCH STUFF from family and she really does not need any more stuff so I think we might get just one nice thing for her from us if anything. I haven’t thought about it all yet but DH is always coming up with stuff he wants to get her
My ILs don’t know how to not buy a lot of stuff so I think I’ll tell them to get her art supplies, and if we can hold out that long, a snowsuit and boots.
We try to subscribe to the Something to play with, something you need, something to wear, and something to read philosophy. Plus one Santa gift. Generally I fail, but I try!
DD age 8 - New ice skates, although this won't be a surprise, and probably an ice skating jacket from Ivivva. I also already got her a Hatchimal and an AG school set at Costco because the prices were awesome - I can always give it to my mom to give to her. Her teacher suggested a Chromebook since they will need one for school next year and they have good discounts at Christmas.
DD age 6 - her birthday is two days before Christmas (poor thing!) and I got her a Wellie Wisher doll from Costco for that. For Christmas she's getting a keyboard because she'll start piano lessons in January. Not sure what else to get her - maybe some Wellie Wisher accessories/clothes.
We have some ski trips planned next winter plus Disney in August - I don't feel the need to go overboard on gifts this year!
I usually do several books a set of PJ's or funny T's and then 1 or 2 fun gifts. A lot of these are considered family items. The books usually float between their bedrooms or live in the playroom.
The kids asked for Hatchimals so I think we'll do that + legos.
for us the question is more "what ISN'T AJ asking for?" since he's at that lovely stage of telling us he wants every toy he sees on TV. Yay for being 4?
I think a "big boy bed" will be his big gift since he's still in a toddler bed. Other than that, I'm not sure. He's got too much stuff as it is so I really need to purge and decide what's going to my niece, to work with me, or getting donated.
Slime kit AG Grand Hotel Books Lego Friends playground Fingerling monkey Razor Scooter Wellie Wisher cocoa stand Art supplies (glitter pens, journals, stamps, etc.)
Some will be Christmas, some will be birthday. The AG hotel is her Santa Gift.
She really isn't asking for much this year. The hotel has been all she's talking about for months so I had to get it. She has also asked for Tenney Grant (AG doll), Logan's drumset, and a beanbag chair. I will give those idea to grandparents.
We got this Hot Wheels table for DS (4). The box is currently under a blanket in the guest room. We told him it's a Christmas gift for his baby sister, so hopefully he will leave it alone for the next two months...
We will likely get him another small thing, maybe a game and a few puzzles, and of course books, since I work at a bookstore and it's pretty impossible for me to NOT buy books.
We'll get DD something, but she'll only be 3 1/2 months, so it will probably be books, clothes, and maybe a stuffed animal.
DD will be 3.5 at Christmas. Thanks to Nick Jr she wants every toy she sees on commercials. Right now her list includes: Sword Mr. Bucket Lipstick Mermaid/barbies that can take a bath with her And my favorite...a unicorn that grants her every wish.
She will get a few of those things as well as some necessities like new slippers and she wants a robe.
Could some one explain the difference to me between the regular AG dolls/Bitty Baby and Wellwishers?
For a 3 year old would a Bitty Baby or Wellwisher be more appropriate?
Wellie Wishers are considerably smaller than the 18" regular AG dolls. I think they are 15" plus narrower. They also have hair. I want to say they are all plastic, but maybe they have a soft torso.
Bitty Baby has no hair and is a cuddly baby doll.
I think Bitty Babies are great for 3 year olds. My 5 yo loves the Wellie Wishers, but not sure she would have at 3.

I need to throw out a bunch of toys. At 3, we got my DS an excavator, the Furreal Friends talking Dragon toy (that he wanted), and some slippers. None of those ever got very much use.
This year he already talks about wanting Superhero stuff, but I don't want to get him junk. Does anyone have any super awesome superhero toys-that aren't just figurines?
My DD will be 21 months old, and I think we will get her a Doc McStuffins nursery toy. She already loves Magicclip dolls but I see they were discontinued. Boo!
Well.... DS just turned 4 this weekend, but we're only having his party in a couple of weeks, to combine with DD. DD turns 2 next month.
I have no idea what family is getting them for their birthdays, so my lists will probably change in a few weeks. But whenever I see something I think they might like, I add it to an Amazon list, so these are my current ideas:
DS: Maui's Magical Fish Hook (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CQTW85C/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=ISL1AWKJY70ZC&colid=3GYJF6P35OJWM ) Dinosaur Taco Holder (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LZNTN8S/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I2UA3R18S3EURM&colid=3GYJF6P35OJWM ) Paw Patrol Sea Patrol Vehicles (He's getting the Sea Patroller from my ILs at the birthday party) Rolling Back Pack Pete The Cat Books & Plush Lego Table & Legos Uno Moo Game Car 3 DVD
