Tarte really doesn't get it do they? Or, are they just super comfortable being racist fucks to not give a shit? I just started watching Jackie Aina's video on the shapetape foundation.

Racists ducks that don't give a shit. I had no idea Jakie Aina was working with tf to bring new shades of BTW foundation.
Tarte was also shady this month with the vol 2 clay play palette. They just don't seem to care about anything.
I'm sufficiently grossed out still by the Ulta selling used makeup accusations, especially considering I returned two palettes last year that had been clearly used. I just assumed someone opened them in store, and that's probably what happened.
I was reading a reddit thread about Coloured raine deleting negative comments and then being insanely rude when questioned about it. I've been wanting to order their lovlies palette but this turned me off.
Totally agree Tarte is just racist and doesn't give a shit. They're announcement of oh we're coming out with deeper shades 'later' is ridicules. I bet they won't come out with any. I already was done with their brand after that meme but yeah they suck. ALSO I was watching an old livestream from Jenlovesreviews and Tarte was offering free products at a beauty con if people went online and left a good review for the product first. So yeah

huh? I hadn't heard this. Not that I've bought new makeup in ages, but please share.

Terrible. I don’t even understand it from a business perspective. The product they released costs money. If it doesn’t match anyone, they take a financial hit. What is even the point?
I can’t remember who I was watching or what brand they were talking to, but a vlogger questioned the shades on offer and the spokesperson replied that 80% of the population falls within their range. And the brand seemed happy with that. That isn’t acceptable!

Ulta is investigating, but quite few people have come forward saying their stores do the same. On the flip side many stores have said no way they do that so it seems to be a store by store thing.

This is the biggest bullshit move ever. Instead of scrambling to cover your ass, try doing better in the initial launch. I really, really need to find a shapetape concealer alternative for my undereyes. At some point the tube I've been working on since before the IG stuff is going to go bad and then I'll be SOL.

I can't believe Tarte with that shade range. Based on that, I'm not trying their new foundation even though Shapetape is my HG. Also looking for a shapetape replacement.
Did anyone see the new ABH Palette - Soft glam. I don't need another palette but if I use Ulta points does it count? I'm interested to see what the reviews are on this one. I may have to get it.

Oh but then I also saw this one yesterday and it looks very interesting. I've read good thing about Milani shadows also waiting to read the reviews on this one.
The Anastasia palette looks like it has some permanent shades (Orange Soda) mixed in with Modern Renaissance shades (Tempera, Cypress Umber, Burnt Orange). Not impressed.

ColourPop! It's really close to Shape Tape. I wore them both the other day and couldn't see a difference at all. Plus it's only $6.

Makeup revoltion just released a dupe and everyone seems to love it.

I have some- not quite the same opacity as shape tape on my undereye area.

I don't have any ABH palettes, but I'm super tempted by this one.

I barely ever post to the board, but read it fairly often. I just saw the ulta used makeup article, and yes that is exactly what they do. I am a former employee and we were told to look at the makeup and determine if it really should be "damaged" (destroyed later instead of resold). I once had a manager wipe off a clearly used foundation pump so she could put it back on the shelf for sale.
I still shop at ulta, but I carefully inspect everything. I get glances and looks for opening boxes to check if products have been used. I don't care, I know what goes on and I'm not paying for used makeup. If I wanted to do that I wouldn't buy from the store. I also check at Sephora. I don't know their policy but my ulta experience has influenced how I shop.
It can also happen with hair product, skin products, everything. My advice is to check everything for signs of use. If there is product in the pump or nozzle in any way grab another one. To me it's just a part of how I shop now, but a lot people just assume if it's on the shelf it hasn't been used. (Kind of like just grabbing a loaf of bread, I don't count the slices or check if the twist the has been undone.) You as a consumer should be able to trust that it's a new and intact product, but in the case of cosmetics you can't.
I’ve read on other makeup forums about how people get grossed out by makeup testers (which, I’m not mocking since it is a gross concept) but then they just open up a fresh one to test out. Noooooooo! I wonder if there will be a swing back to the makeup counter or some kind of controlled contact with product at places like Ulta and Sephora.

I usually order online instead of going to the store. I wonder if that's "safer".
Tarte just needs to shut the fuck up. I'm so done with them.
The new ABH palette is pretty. I might give that to my FSIL for her birthday. I'm eyeing the White Peach palette as well but I'm trying not too buy stuff I really don't need this year.

I have to return a palette to Ulta that I used twice and made my eyes itch. Now I feel guilty that they'll put it back on the shelf. But it was $45, I want that money to buy something else.
Also, I have Sephora GC I want/need to spend by the end of the month to get the birthday reward, and I don't know what I want! Anyone have a matte blush they love? (my previous HG was Tarte Exposed, but yeah)
I'm glad the reselling of used makeup is getting some attention. My DH bought me the Naked 1 a while back as a gift and when I opened it the entire thing had been obviously swatched. Like I could see the finger prints and everything. I returned it and got something at Sephora instead lol. Anytime I buy in Ulta now I have them open it at the register so I can see if it's broken or used first. I'm not paying highend prices for used makeup.
I've heard people say just online but Ultas shipping minimum is so high that I'll just shop somewhere else.
Tarte had now released a totally fucked up response on IG stories. I don't know how to link it.
yeah, I saw it last night too. It was like "we hear you, we're sorry, we take full responsibility" but then a list of excuses/reasons for the limited colors. Tarte used to be one of my favorite brands. My skin loves it. But I'm officially done now.

I do think online is "safer", at least that's what I tell myself. I doubt that this used and returned stuff is making its way back to the warehouses, but who knows.
Do not be afraid to ask the cashier to open things for you to inspect, especially if you don't want to open it on the sales floor. And NEVER use a tester on your face. EVER. And that is the makeup used for makeup application (that you pay for) so I would steer clear of those as well. It is "sanitized" with alcohol, but it's different using a makeup artist that keeps their kit clean. Anyone can touch those testers, it's not the same as a freelancers kit.

I know it's not Sephora, but I've been liking the ones from la girl. Very pigmented and stay all day. Another tarte exposed like blush is the chanel one on rose ecrin. Has a slight sheen, but not shimmery. Kinda went to opposite ends of the price spectrum with that.
Eta: duh you want to use a gc and get the gift. So for Sephora maybe try Bobbi Brown. Her blushes also stay on me all day and look natural.

And while I'm on a roll, Norvina from ABH is also high on my shit list too. I wasn't a fan of her response to subculture and then last night I read her response to the Soft Glam leak giving the middle finger to Kicks. Well, they said it was Anastasia Nordic that have them the ok so she should be blaming her own damn company and not the store.
I've been up a lot the last few weeks with my 1 year old so I've been reading a lot of reddit, lol.
Tarte can fuck all the way off. They also did some giveaway apparently which required people to post palm trees on posts about the foundation, thus trying to drown out the criticisms people were leaving on social media.
