Last week in January already!
I really need to start transitioning E to a two nap schedule. She fights the third nap hard and if she does nap, ends up sleeping until 5pm, then still goes to bed at 6:30. She just can't do a longer awake time in the middle of the day yet though.
Also, we took her to a birthday party yesterday and there were a million people there, and now I'm so worried she is going to get sick. Luckily no one except one person got in her face so I'm hoping we'll be okay.
B is getting ear tubes next week. I'm looking forward to breaking this endless cycle of ear infections and antibiotics. His hearing was tested last week too - it's in the acceptable range, thank god, but it isn't as good as it could be, so hopefully the tubes will help his hearing too.
I finally got my period today, at 14.5 months PP. It was nice to go two whole years without it, but as we think about trying for #2 this summer I'm glad its back.
We've been sloooowly moving back C's bedtime (he's resistant!) and we've progressed from 5:30pm to 6:15pm. I'm hoping to end up at 7pm sometime before he starts preschool!
oneslybookworm, oh no, I missed that G was so sick! I'm so sorry, how scary! Have they given you any indication of whether they think you can go home soon? Ugh, if you guys end up being sick too, maybe it's for the best that you have some help taking care of Lil G. Hugs to all of you.
scm1011, 5:30 to 6:15 must feel like a big improvement! 45 minutes at that time of day can make a big difference. Congrats on the period too, lol.
Oh no, oneslybookworm, I hope you and J haven't caught it as well! I hope everyone is home and feeling better ASAP. Hugs.
janegold, that 45 minutes really has made a huge difference. Before on weekdays it was a race to fit in C's dinner and bath before bedtime; now we actually have time to play too.
I am so sorry that you guys are all so sick, oneslybookworm! Sage got really sick over the weekend but seems to be on the upswing now. No fever so they were not concerned about the flu, thank god.
I am on my stupid 4th period since December scm1011--another reason I wish I was able to breastfeed! I just met with my midwives to discuss merena, so fingers crossed that will make them stop! thoseareradishes, I wish I could get S to do a 2 nap schedule but he just likes shorter, more frequent naps. Even if he takes an occasional 2-2.5 hour nap he still needs another one about 1.5 hours later.
Good luck with the ear tubes, janegold! Hopefully that does the trick!

Thanks ladies...it's been a hell of a weekend. Plus, I'm on my period, very likely sick with the flu, and I have no idea when we'll get out of here with G. He's definitely on the upswing though, so that's a positive!! They're hoping tomorrow he can go home...they want him off oxygen for at least a full shift, so 12-14 hours. He was off oxygen for 3 hours before he started desating last time, so....we're getting there! Now just waiting on lab results for me and J. Needless to say, it's likely we'll hit our OOP max for health care this year, so I"m going to go and schedule my knee surgery as well, because at least then I can get it done for free! J's hip surgery is still scheduled for late Feb, so...yay health care payments. UGH
S had a miserable cold this weekend that he transferred to me. G is now sick with a stomach bug or food poisoning that I pray we do not get.
S had his appointment today at the noggin clinic to check on his little flat head. It has not really changed much, so no improvement, but not worse. The doctor says it is still technically right on the line of being flat versus normal so they want to wait another few months as he thinks that it will improve on it's own enough not to need a helmet. Looking at him straight on is fine, but from the side his head is so flat and pointy, poor guy! Good thing he is cute
He turned 6 months on Thursday. Measuring at 19.5 pounds and 28.5" tall. He is either very serious and taking everything in or very goofy and happy, as evidenced below.
shauni27, that face kills me! And WOAH are his eyes blue!! <3 Also, I'm pretty sure your 6 month old is bigger than my 14 month old, lol. My kid is such a runt.
scm1011, yes but you guys are not giants like G and I, lol. Our baby comes from tall stock, haha. His eyes on the other hand...we don't know where those came from!

I come from giants, too! I'm the shortest in my family at 5'8" (and K is 6'0"). My sister is 6'1"! I was also a monster baby. Where my teeny tiny nugget came from I'll never know. Embryo mix up? lol.
Cross posting from GP, but I had an OB appointment last Friday. Baby boy is measuring 12 days behind now (he was measuring 5 days behind at my anatomy scan). He's less than 10th percentile symmetrically. I have a follow up appointment tomorrow with the same MFM that did my anatomy scan to do another growth ultrasound to see what he gets for measurements. Hopefully it's closer to my dates than what the u/s tech at my OB's office got. I'm hoping that a different tech plus different equipment is why he's measuring so much smaller than before. My OB also wants me to come in twice a week from now on for NST/BPP. I'm trying not to panic until we get results from tomorrow's appointment. But there are so many awful things going through my mind right now.
I have my GD test tomorrow, not looking forward to that. I have to get to the OB office bright and early to get a number for the blood test so I can get into work for a reasonable time. My OB scheduled a routine appointment during the 1 hour wait time so at least I don't have to go back again. I cant believe I am almost in the third trimester! Time is flying. (I am sure I will have different opinion in a few weeks).
I have my first prenatal barre class, I think I will try also go to prenatal yoga this week as well. I haven't worked out since before the transfer so hopefully I am not completely out of it. I did use to work out 4-5 times a week before. I found a studio near us that only focuses on pre and post natal so all the classes are baby friendly. I hope I like this studio so I can go back with the baby during the year I have off for maternity leave.

Hey all! So sorry for the sickness that is going around oneslybookworm, shauni27. I am afraid S has another ear infection so back to the doctor we go this afternoon.
S is still not walking but oh well. She will walk when she is ready ( I think sometime in February). She is so stinking cute and LOVES to dance. If you tell her "dance, dance, dance" or to "shake her booty" she will shake and dance. OMG it is TOO cute. If she hears music, she will start dancing.
Did I tell yall she outgrew her milk allergy? OMG is life easier!!! She eats almost everything now!
we have a cruise scheduled in april and I can NOT wait!!!!!!

shauni27, S and E are almost the same size! E was 19.4 lbs and 28 inches at her nutrition appt last week. I think she might be the biggest micropreemie ever, heh. Amazing she started under 2 pounds.
thoseareradishes, that literally made me tear up. I am so happy that she is such a healthy little girl! kellikans, I am thinking good, healthy thoughts for you guys!! scm1011, why did I think you were shorter than me??

You're almost 30 weeks, right?
Don't know if you recall, but A was a very small baby. At an ultrasound to check on my cervix around 32 weeks, they determined she was quite small (bottom of the charts small - like 1st percentile). I had follow up scans every 2 weeks for measurement, and weekly NSTs (which changed to bi-weekly towards delivery). The specialist told us that as long as she kept her curve, we would keep her inside until at least 37 weeks. She was also symmetrically small, and he said that was a good sign, but they were still going to treat her as IUGR. He said it becomes a problem when the abdominal measurement gets way far behind the other measurement, as it's a sign the placenta is not giving the baby enough nutrients.
She did stay on her curve, and was born at 38 weeks weighing 5lbs10oz. They never told me if my placenta was to blame or not. My H and I are not big people, and were both smaller babies when we were born, so that might have contributed as well. A continued to stay under the 15th percentile until she was about a year old.
A small baby is totally doable. You will likely be given some steroid shots just in case, but in my non-medical opinion from what you've told me, you will have many weeks ahead of you to grow him on the inside with lots of monitoring. Just don't do what I did and drink 2 milkshakes a day, hoping to fatten your baby up because apparently that doesn't work and it only made me gain a ton more weight than I needed to.
kellikans, I hope it's nothing. At my anatomy scan the doctor wouldn't tell me what the baby was measuring. He went on a rant about how there's such a wide range by that point that it hardly means anything and only just worries people unnecessarily.

My OB said the same thing. Good luck tomorrow, kellikans!

Agreed, same thing for me as well kellikans. At my anatomy scan they said nothing in regards to measurement but DH was in the room and was staring at the screen. He said that the tech measured a few times during the entire ultrasound and baby measured from 3 days behind to a week ahead from where I was dated in the same ultrasound depending on how they did the measurements.

janegold, good luck to you and B next week! C is already on his second set of tubes, so let me know if you have any questions. The surgery really stressed me out the first time, but it’s really pretty quick and easy.
(((kellikans))) I think measurements are reeeaally subjective. Try not to worry!
C is starting to learn to walk (even though he doesn’t really even crawl!). Yesterday, he was able to do 3 steps at a time while holding my hands. Today, he easily did 10-15 steps at a time! Also, did anyone’s kid struggle to take milk/water from a sippy? C still does. Not. Do it! He’s almost 13 months! We give him 3 bottles a day (2 of WCM and 1 of formula, but we’ll probably transition that to WCM once this can of formula is gone). Help!

His second set already?! I thought they were supposed to last a year! Or do they replace them more frequently when the babies are so itty bitty?

janegold , The doctor noticed that the first set was starting to fall out at his 6 month post op appointment, so we scheduled to put a new set in. She said that it can happen that soon when they’re little because the canals are so tiny and growing quickly. She custom-ordered a teeny tiny tube for his December surgery and commented how much his canals had grown since April. I don’t think it’s common though, just not unheard of.
Chrysanthemum, A never liked regular sippy cups. And I think she only figured out straws when I let her try my coffee frappucino at 15 months. Mum of the year, right here.
Yesterday my 4 year old asked me where did the first people come from when there was nothing before them. I was prepared for where do babies come from but not this, lol!
My baby didn't wake up at all last night! Her naps were crap yesterday so maybe this is related, hmm. We'll see what happens tonight.
