I can click on it to see the full sized pic. I love the look of those shifty blue/purple highlights. I wish they showed up on me though haha. I think I’m going to do a big purge of my makeup this month and just get everything I don’t love out. I’m still having fun panning but there are just some products I don’t even want to use. I think I’ll put it all together for my DD to play with.
I love that you chose a picture of someone with freckles and non-Instagram brows (where you can see the individual hairs)! It's gorgeous and also looks more attainable than many of those really sculpted looks out there.
Oh! I ordered a couple of things from Sephora and picked up the Bobbi Brown crushing on pink 500 point perk. I only tried one color so far (the crushed lip color in Babe), but I really like it! I'm also excited to have Sandwash Pink lipstick back in my collection. It was my go-to "professional" lipstick for interviews, etc when I was younger. Pretty sure it's what I wore in my last passport photo, too.
Our MoM ( I can't remember what we decided to call the picture) has some amazing highlighter going on.
I'm glad you guys love it too!
If anyone's interested - this is from Priscilla Ono's instagram -- she's a makeup artist for Fenty Beauty. It says the model is wearing Fenty Matchstix for brows/eyeshadow/contour/blush/highlight/lip. Lots of beautiful makeup on her page.
I recently bought the Sephora velour powder pouf as a backup for the one I got at a beauty supply store and love. I HATE the Sephora one. It's like it's all satin on the inside or something, so when I try to fold it, it slips around way too much. I'm going to see if they have the Laura Mercier one in stock and if that's any better. I just want two so I don't have to stress about my favorite one maybe still being damp from washing! I'm mostly annoyed that the beauty supply store doesn't have any more.
I bought a new vitamin c serum with vitamin e and ferulic acid from Timeless because TO company is going downhill fast. It reeks. Like raw bloody hamburger spritzed in lemon. Maybe I will get used to it?

The most offensive one I ever smelled was Skinceuticals. I never got used to it. I used it because it was expensive, but I would never buy it again. I have been using the Drunk Elephant for a couple years and could smell it a bit but mostly didn’t notice it. I JUST opened a Paula’s Choice one today and I can smell it, but again not bad.

That's weird. I have the same serum and just went to smell it (2 months old) because I never recall it having much of a smell at all, outside of a generic chemical smell if I stick the bottle up to my nose. If the smell from in the bottle or after it's been on your skin? I've tried several C serums that smelled metallic after I put them on my skin.
I’m ok with this. Especially if they are sending out warning emails before hand. I don’t believe those claiming they returned something one time and got banned.

On my skin and hands after I use it. I have to brace myself to use it. It seems to fade once I finish my routine since I use j one black jelly pack and it smells like blueberries.
I finally used my soft glam palette that I've had for almost 2 months and hadn't used yet and OMG it's stunning. I think I'm going to destash my modern Renaissance , soft glam is so much user friendly.

I just went and picked up my birthday gift at Ulta. I also ended up getting the new UD 24/7 eyeliner in goldmine, it's part of the new sun collection. It's super pretty!
Other than the things I run out of frequently (foundation, mascara, eyebrow pencil, eyeliner) I really haven’t purchased any makeup this year*. I’ve really committed to using things up in my collection. I’ve gone into Sephora and Ulta a few times to swatch things but nothing has really grabbed my interest. If I purchase self-care items, it’s been skincare and hair care. I’m curious to see how long I can go like this.
* I did purchase a lipstick with a gift card and bought a lip gloss at Target a couple of months ago so I haven’t been perfect.

I recently got it too. I haven’t tried out the shimmery shades yet but can’t wait to try them, they look so pretty.

I've definitely been buying makeup but I've noticed I'm getting turned off by the constant release of products/collections by pretty much ALL the makeup companies. There was a discussion on Reddit about it recently

Yes, I get very over all of that too. I used to be part of an online community for makeup addicts like us, got into the hype of lots of collections/products, but now I'm over most of it. I've bought much less eyeshadow recently. Lipstick is still my biggest vice, but even that I haven't been buying as much. Most of the things out there just aren't exciting to me.
That said, I did just pick up an eyeshadow at Target the other day because it was on clearance and I've been eyeing it due to its name for a while. L'Oreal infallible eyeshadow single in Brass Knuckles. But overall buying most makeup just isn't exciting lately.

Reddit has been good cuz I look at the makeup addiction sub but also the makeup circle jerk DISCUSSION sub (not the actual circle jerk group) where it's just talking about makeup without the "I bought this new product!" feel. Also I look at makeup rehab sub which is good for tempering the hoarding tendencies.
Doing the “18 in 2018” challenge has been revelatory - things I genuinely like but get overlooked vs. stuff I’m holding on to because it was expensive or popular. I think I’m gearing up for a giant throw out at the end of this month, halfway through the year.
I don’t think I’m going to buy another eyeshadow for a very long time. And I’m going to be much more thoughtful in my lip purchases.
I’ve been seeing this trend in vloggers too. Get out of the ALL THE THINGS mentality.

Yes! One of the YouTubers I follow has been doing a ton of decluttering videos. She calls it curating and does them for all the different items in her collection. I think I'm going through and doing another big declutter of my makeup, since it's been a while. Lipstick is absolutely the hardest for me. I probably have 10+ lipsticks in my purse right now.
