Another exciting week! Lots of things going on!
Jalapeñomel, I hope your Day 3 embryo report is perfect today!
I officially stopped BC and have my CD0 monitoring appt tomorrow, all of my meds should be here tomorrow, and I will probably start stimming Thursday or Friday!
Nothing for us this week. I have 1 more week of BC pills before going for another ultrasound on 06/20 (will be CD21). Hopefully the cyst will be gone so we can continue the IUI.
I still find it weird to be on BC while TTC. I get it and the reasons but still weird to me.
Tylenol and antihistamines are already on board. I have chronic allergies as well... it's been a delicate dance to manage my allergies and be ttc-friendly as well. Decongestants like sudafed are a no no through the end of first tri since they are vasoconstrictors and can decrease blood flow in the uterus and placenta. I maybe can do Afrin, but I won't until I ask.
megstoo , my H was like, "Are you sure? It starts with BC?"
I think mine said almost the same thing and he just can't wrap his head around it.
My only good thing was yay no forcing a period then since it'll be CD21 and my baseline is done. Of course if it's not down enough (or gone) they'll have me force a period which I'm used to at this point.

Oh man, this cycle is such a comedy of errors. I am going to be so glad when this is all over. Everyone keep your fingers crossed that I don't have to kill anyone.
Boarding my flight. Transfer tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed there will be some embryos (they don’t tell you till your bladder is full and you are in the chair).
Got my order for my stim meds today and my beta came back negative (below 5). Just waiting for AF to start my next stim cycle.
I'm also probably going to the RESOLVE group my therapist runs tomorrow night. I've only met up with one other woman in my town before through RESOLVE (she started a peer group, but there aren't too many of us yet, lol). Since this one is led by a professional, it will be a different experience.
I have my lining check tomorrow. I've never had a problem with it, but I'm always nervous leading up to it. Fertilization is Friday, and I'm a broken record, but trying not to think too much about it all. I wish I could fast forward a month!

shoeless, good luck tomorrow! Our embryologist asked how my bladder was holding out and then told us a funny story of a woman who didn't realize she had to go to the transfer with a full bladder, so he looked like a creeper just randomly asking about her bladder. Poor guy!
Retrieval was this morning, they got 5 eggs, will have fertilization report by noon tomorrow. The whole experience was very positive, it wasn't my own RE that did the procedure but this doc was great. All in all we feel hopeful.
We'll know by Saturday how many will be biopsied and PGT tested. That will take 1-2 weeks but the embryologist I met with today said it's usually closer to one week. Hopefully that means we can do a transfer next cycle if we end up with a good embryo.

@slk4117 I’m sorry that is stressful. I’m really not a sperm expert but yeah, the morphology and specifically head shape does seem to be pretty out of normal range based on what we were told to look for when our donor did his SA.
One question- where was the SA done? Was it by a lab that focuses on fertility, or in a general office or hospital? Morphology is one of the trickier and more subjective parameters, so it is recommended to get it done at a fertility lab where they have more specialized experience for better accuracy of results.
Also, is it your GYN who received the SA results? Can your H make an appointment with a fertility urologist? A fertility urologist or possibly even an RE would be able to recommend a lab and do an exam to potentially identify a physical cause such as a varicocele.
I assume they will want to run it again in a few months for consistency’s sake.
Anyone want to analyze my H's semen analysis? I forwarded to the doctor but naturally I'm Dr. Googling and it's stressing me out.
Total: 96M Volume: 3.2 ml Concentration: 30m/ml Motility: 70% Total motile: 67.2M Progression: 2.5 Morphology: 0.5% - worried about this, this should be at least 4%, right? Head defects: 99% - worried about this Midpiece defects: 1% Tail defects: 0% Viscosity: 3
No clumps, no contaminants, etc.
Even if only 0.5% of them are good, if you do IVF with ICSI, they can still pick out the good ones from 96 million. And they will pick the ones that look perfect.

It was done by an andrology lab. It was sent to his primary care doc for a referral to a urology specialist if he needed it (which... I guess they’ll tell him? I don’t know, he logged into his patient portal and saw it. They haven’t called him yet). I need it sent to my gyn, which once received she’ll either refer me to an RE or start me on clomid or femara (I think that’s the name?). I see her again on Thursday to discuss next steps. She said today she didn’t want to pass me to the RE until they had a full picture of what’s going on, which included his analysis.
I’m glad you have a proactive doctor but it definitely sounds like you will both benefit from speaking with specialists about next steps. compassrose is right that ICSI can overcome a lot of these issues but I know that can be very scary to hear when you haven’t even seen an RE yet or done any other treatments. Please lean on us if you need to. <3

I had to google ICSI 🤦🏼♀️ You’re both right, I think that makes sense. I appreciate her being thorough, but I just want answers and a plan in place.
On top of that, I looked up the costs and whoooo boy 😳 do RE’s take payment plans? I don’t have $30k just laying around unfortunately.
If you do get to that point the board will help you brainstorm: price comparing different clinics, traveling for treatment, financing options, med discount programs. There are a lot of options out there and it is so overwhelming to sort through them all but everyone here is a great resource. *hugs*

My doc told me this today as well. Like I have to take the day off work (in your case FLY there) to tell me they didn’t divide appropriately and not gonna happen??

In my experience, it doesn't cost that much. More like 11-13K. Which is still a lot.
We started saving a year prior to our first IVF cycle which was OOP. We also had to do ICSI for crappy morphology and anti-sperm antibodies.

Yep my first FET cycle, I didn't find out until we walked in that none of them survived thawing. It makes sense, since they're not going to thaw them until day of. My fresh cycle was much less stressful because I had daily updates.

@slk4117, I echo what the others have said about speaking to a specialist. However, just to put your mind at ease, we did IVF with ICSI and have been successful (we just had 15/15 fertilize, one great one was transferred today, and the others are developing). So try not to stress too much until you've got an RE making a plan for you.

I’m on a fresh cycle though. 😭
Are they not updating because they don't want to disturb their development? We're getting/got updates on days 3,5,6 and 7.

Yea I think it's BS to not have daily updates on a fresh cycle.
