I have a love/hate relationship with the never-trumpers and GOP making statements against this. On one hand, the more GOP politicians, including the talking heads on Fox news, come out against the way that Trump's narrative on Russian interference and Putin, the better. On the other hand, they should all eat shit.
They voted for or are the people who empower this asshole at every turn. The people who obstructed Garland. The people who confirmed Jeff Sessions. The people who ignored his mockeries of the disabled, the raped, the fallen soldier. The people who stand as Republicans when the RNC gave 200k to Roy Moore. Really and truly, they should be eating cholera-infested shit. And NeverTrumpers will never be shit because they will always think Trump is the problem, not the product of their own evil.

Yeah, they’re fine with everything he’s doing. They just wish he was more *wink wink* and smooth with his racism/bigotry than how blatant and boorish he is.
And listen, I don't like this idea that the entire GOP is behaving the way they are because they are victims of crimes because implicit in that is the notion that they would behave like decent and honorable people otherwise. THERE IS ZERO EVIDENCE OF THAT.
Look, the Russians hacked damn near everything. Yes, many in the GOP are victims of hacking. Some might be victims of blackmail or have not yet actually been blackmailed but are so afraid of what is out there on them, that they are conforming their behavior to avoid pissing Russia off. To the extent Russia actually has an ongoing influence on their behavior, I feel awful for our country. And even if the person is a shit human hiding shit behavior, I am pissed AF that Russia is trampling around in our business. GTFO.
But the entire GOP is not behaving like the scum of the earth because they are all victims of an ongoing crime. They are behaving like the scum of the earth because they are the scum of the earth. I'm ok generalizing until proven otherwise.
All of this. I wish democrats on tv would start talking about this. It irritates me so much when I hear bullshit about how “now the GOP has turned into Trumps version of the GOP”. That’s bullshit. Everything that’s in the news. Every new law. Every new policy. Every new position has always been their position. They just have ownership of our entire government now through their cheating the system. But it’s not trump. It’s the GOP. Which is why all you get is a little “well it’s troubling” bs. But it’s not to them really. Behind closed doors they are enjoying all their money and patting each other on the back and conspiring in how to take down the rest of us. The GOP doesn’t work for the people. They just pander and use them as their base as their own useful idiots. But the base doesn’t see that. They will never see it as long as the media distracts them with stories of their enemy (brown people) getting taken down. Which is what pleases them most. To us the stories we see are appalling. To the GOP base it’s what they were elected for.
The Republican ethos has always been control of the little people and pillaging of the Treasury in their favor, at least since Nixon. Nothing has changed except for who they partner with to carry it out. With every new revelation it becomes increasingly clear that the GOP willingly partnered with an adversary to hold on to power. It really is that simple. Those who can’t call it out are the ones who aren’t willing to give up the benefits it affords them.
All those articles after the 2012 election about how the GOP had to change its platform to stay relevant is what led them down the path I think. They weren’t willing to abide by democracy so they decided to cheat.
fuck you, too, McCain. WE KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO FUCKING HAPPEN.
Wait - why are y'all saying Fuck you to McCain?
Hasn't he pretty much always been anti-Trump? He bent to political pressure and endorsed Trump for like 2 months, but before the 2016 election he pulled it back in time for it to cost him his own election. He still won Arizona, but not by the margin he could have.
he has been pretty vocal this whole presidency and cast the deciding No vote to prevent repealing ACA.
Of the current Senators, he seems to be one of the few on the Republican side acting with any sense and in the best interest of the country, not his party.

McCain cast one “no” vote at a time when it mattered, sure. And IIRC he could have stopped the vote from even getting to the floor. He has pretty much voted lockstep for all other legislation, judges, etc.
He talks a good game, but he has power here to actually stop trump and his agenda so he needs to stop acting powerless.
Even fucking Newt is chiming in. This all reminds me of Charlottesville. He is at 87% after all that so this will definitely not hurt him.
Trump doesn’t need to clarify anything. It’s been pretty clear where his loyalties lie all along. It’s the rest of the GOP and some Dems that need to stop acting foolishly surprised, and it’s time for them to clarify their stance and loyalty with the US.

He’s been so anti-Trump that he confirmed all but 2 cabinet members and Gorsuch and passed the abominable tax law. He didn’t help Merrick Garland and vowed to obstruct anyone HRC nominated if she won. He once put women’s health in air quotes. I probably would have stopped writing after “he endorsed Trump.” But you do you.
The real estate company formerly headed by Jared Kushner exposed children to cancer-causing substances as part of a campaign to push rent-stabilized tenants out of their apartments, said a lawsuit filed by a group of renters.
Nineteen tenants of 18 Kent Ave. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, contend that Kushner Cos. tried to convert the majority of the 338 apartments in the building from rent-stabilized units to luxury condos starting in June 2015.
To do so, Kushner's firm harassed the rent-stabilized tenants with major construction all over the building, the lawsuit charges. The construction at the Austin Nichols House unleashed dangerous toxins into the air and caused a litany of issues, according to the legal filing. "The intentional and negligent actions of (Kushner Cos.) have caused plaintiffs, and young children, to be exposed to a constant cloud of toxic smoke and dust, illegal noise, unsafe conditions, unregulated and unsupervised workmen performing construction activity," said the suit filed in Brooklyn Supreme Court, which was dated July 15.

You are missing a list of the things McCain has actually done to further the best interest of the country while Trump was running for office and has since been in office. Voted the right way on health care once is not a list. It is one thing. Which he undid like a week later by voting for the next shitshow health care package that came up.
Nobody gets cookies for tweets when they have the power to do actual accomplishments, like votes or use of his power to influence. At a minimum, he could change his party to independent and announce he's caucusing with the Democrats.
Talks without action is actually just as harmful because he's giving solace to people who claim it is possible to be a member of the Republican party and not be a white supremacist. He's legitimizing their hate and corruption. I am not applauding that.
So Google tells me that Rounds is a Republican senator from South Dakota. This is quite a statement.
Wtf is that?
It *almost* makes Trump's speech about Elton John's organ look like Shakespeare. Which ironically was given in South Dakota. WTF is in the water there?

while I generally don’t like you (the likewise sentiment having been made repeatedly clear), I appreciate the examples of your reply because I haven’t the bandwidth in my life to keep track of every senator’s vote on every issue. Those were the types of examples I was seeking. So minus your consistent and unnecesssary sarcasm, thanks.

Lol. You’re married to a Trump voter, so your gauge on likeability is of little interest to me.
Administration officials had hoped that maybe, just maybe, Monday’s summit between President Trump and Russian President Vladmir Putin would end differently — without a freewheeling 46-minute news conference in which Trump attacked his own FBI on foreign soil and warmly praised archrival Russia.
Ahead of the meeting, staffers provided Trump with some 100 pages of briefing materials aimed at laying out a tough posture toward Putin, but the president ignored most of it, according one person familiar with the discussions, who requested anonymity to disclose internal deliberations. Trump’s remarks were “very much counter to the plan,” the person said.
“Everyone around Trump” was urging him to take a firm stance with Putin, according to a second person familiar with the preparations. In advance of Monday’s meeting, the second person said, advisers covered everything from Russia’s annexation of Crimea to its meddling in the U.S. elections, but Trump “made a game-time decision” to handle the summit his way.
---------- lolz that anybody thought he'd do anything different...all these people are so stupid, even Cory Booker was like "I'm shocked!"

I used to live in that building. All true. Luckily my lease was up a few months after the Kushners got ahold of it. Also, typo in the article. Correct address is 184 Kent

Right I’m surprised by the shock and outrage on twitter and by cable like on this board, we could have told you how it would go. Last time he met Putin he said the same thing oh he told me he didn’t do it. I saw some of the presser and it reminded me of Charlottesville because they were simple questions but he’s so insecure that he immediately reacts in the worst possible way. It truly is what he believes though.

Maddow reporting that Manafort's trial suddenly delayed again... lawandcrime.com/high-profile/legal-experts-say-manafort-could-be-cutting-plea-deal-as-judge-suddenly-delays-proceedings/ he judge overseeing Paul Manafort‘s federal court case on charges of tax evasion and bank fraud in Virginia delayed proceedings in a surprise move on Monday afternoon. According to legal experts familiar with the federal court system, this could be an indication that Manafort is about to cut a plea deal.
Per Politico’s Josh Gerstein, U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III postponed a hearing set for tomorrow on issues regarding change of venue requests and trial delays. Gerstein noted, “Jurors were to be summoned on the day following the rescheduled hearing. Jury selection set to open the next day.”

Not the point, but I’m pretty sure it was actually Montana.
It genuinely makes me sick to see the deplorables acting like they have a monopoly on patriotism when their Commander-in-Cheeto is out here selling this country out. This is a slap in the face towards anyone who has served this country in any way - militarily, diplomatically, etc.
We had our town festival over the weekend. Dems set up a tent and we were talking with folks and promoting our candidates. A Republican/Trump supporter walked past and commented along the lines of "how dare we set out the flag like we were patriots." We had a Marine Grandma, a Coast Guard vet (Rep. Lovick) and me (Navy wife/daughter/mother/daughter-in-law/generations-long-resume...) How dare someone impugn us as NOT patriots. But then, Tammy Duckworth is not a patriot, Ted Lieu is not a patriot...
This absolutely enrages me, that they have co-opted the flag and patriotism.
