I just cannot wrap my brain around how people can continue to support him. The stock market is (currently) up, so simpletons who only care about their money are happy. But how can ANYONE with a shred of information about Russia and its history be OK with what happened today? If anyone sees an article supporting why this meeting was a good thing and why they’re happy with the outcome, I’d be interested in reading it.
Which is foolish, because while stocks are up, all other indicators are showing inflation on the upswing. Real estate (even here) has softened, food prices are up...

On twitter they tell me that inflation is a great thing!

I'm so tired of people being like, "Please President Trump, clarify what you said, I'm sure you didn't mean it that way!" Dumbasses, he meant it the damn way he said it. I know he is a crotchety old man and all but even in his own Trumpian verbal diarrhea way, he's quite clear in what he's saying. He's saying he likes Russia more the United States. Clear now, Newt?

The deplorables are pretty much just yelling about uranium soooooo any chance of this being the last straw for the vast majority of them is gone. Not that I expected a turnaround but just in case you were curious.

Interesting but not particularly detailed take from Political Orphans, including this tidbit:
"This indictment came from the FBI’s counter-intelligence division, not the Special Prosecutor. We have no indication of whether the Special Council’s investigation contributed to this indictment, but even if Mueller’s investigation was terminated this line of prosecution would continue.
If you’ve been wondering why Congressional Republicans scrambled so aggressively to squash this investigation, or why so many Republican talking heads have bent over backward to defend Trump, well…take a look at that picture. This indictment hints at the casual breadth of contacts between Russian agents and Republican political figures, going back many years.
Butina herself has been operating in Republican circles since at least 2013. The Trump organization let her ask Donald Trump an “audience question” at one of their first campaign events in Las Vegas in July 2015. She was a special guest of the NRA President at the 2014 convention. She’s been EVERYWHERE, leaving an incriminating trail of emails, texts and money."
The Trump campaign let a Russian spy ask a public question at a campaign event. Wow.

I just read the comments on FoxNews FB page, and the talk about Hillary and Obama (his apology tour and using the word “flexible” when talking with Putin), and “what was trump supposed to do, beat up Putin?? Illegals voting and electron rigging??Liberals make up your mind!”

You know what kills me? All of these people tweeting about how horrible today was and we all know tomorrow it will be forgotten and nothing will happen. It's a sad, sad world we are living in right now.

I've seen some real mental backflips. Like, the reason that Democrats don't want a "normalized" relationship with Russia is that they are scared what will come out. Like, that somehow Russia has all the goods that will finally, finally lead to the Takedown and Lockup of Hillary, Obama, Most of the Democratic Party and Also Many Deep-Staters in the Federal Government. Also RINOS. So all of those dirty birds are fighting tool and nail against Good Guy Trump in an effort to hold on to their dastardly power, with the heavy implication that only Trump and Russia can save us by putting all those people in jail, because the FBI clearly should've at least convicted HRC and didn't so they are partisan and not to be trusted.
Seriously, it all still comes back to her emails. I read the comments and wonder how many of them are bots and how many of them are just nuts. And either possibility is scary. Because there are enough people out there who think Russian interference is FINE, IT'S FINE as long as we didn't end up with HRC in the WH. And holding onto hope that Russia -- that a foreign enemy, Russian hackers and spies and liars, the effing KGB! -- is the way they're finally going to get to Lock Her Up the way that they've always screamed that they wanted.
Oh, then there was the guy saying that WaPo and other mainstream media outlets publishing criticism are warmongers and "against diplomacy."
It genuinely makes me sick to see the deplorables acting like they have a monopoly on patriotism when their Commander-in-Cheeto is out here selling this country out. This is a slap in the face towards anyone who has served this country in any way - militarily, diplomatically, etc.
We had our town festival over the weekend. Dems set up a tent and we were talking with folks and promoting our candidates. A Republican/Trump supporter walked past and commented along the lines of "how dare we set out the flag like we were patriots." We had a Marine Grandma, a Coast Guard vet (Rep. Lovick) and me (Navy wife/daughter/mother/daughter-in-law/generations-long-resume...) How dare someone impugn us as NOT patriots. But then, Tammy Duckworth is not a patriot, Ted Lieu is not a patriot...
This absolutely enrages me, that they have co-opted the flag and patriotism.
I refuse to say they've coopted shit. They've tried to redefine patriot as trump supporting and respect for the flag as not taking a knee at football. No! They don't get that right.
Yes there are liberals (and atheists!) in foxholes. 5 deferments for bone spur president is not a standard I'll accept.
So, other than the word soup from South Dakota, is anyone in any official position supporting what happened today? When even FoxNews is almost(?) completely aghast and against what happened, it should have people thinking twice. Yet, Trump has been so effectively gaslighting people, that they will somehow add FoxNews to the Fake News list...and add Putin to the truth-tellers list, since Trump speaks only the truth.
The number of people in my newsfeed continuing to stick their head in the sand and pretend like nothing is happening is sickening.
ETA: I had to go to Breitbart to find support. Saw Coulter and Ron Paul supporting him. Ron Paul even said he “won.” Coulter says media and politician’s response is just like with the Muslim Ban. I couldn’t stomach any more.

am i catching up on all of this today...and all i can think of is Obama did and or said .05% of any of this, the right would be losing their fucking minds.
i don't even care anymore if there was collusion....our investigators showed another country fucked with our election. OUR ELECTION. and this is all just getting brushed aside like oh hey no biggie.
I wish Ted Lieu could run for President. Or even better, if dictionary.com could run for President.
I learned a new word today: Quisling (Definition from dictionary.com of quisling: Quisling: A person who betrays his or her own country by aiding an invading enemy, often serving later in a puppet government. #NothingLikeAGosling #OrADuckling

Quisling was a Norwegian politician who assisted the Nazis and led the government during the occupation. After the war, he was arrested for treason, and his villa was seized by the government and later turned into a holocaust museum. Imagine all of the museums we can make out of Trump's hotels. One for Muslims, one for black America, one for Hispanic studies, LGBTQ, women... (And can we just turn Mar-a-Lago into the HRC honorary presidential library?)
The President gave an interview to Sean Hannity, apparently just after he concluded today’s joint press conference. The interview just aired on Hannity’s 9 PM show. Below are three notable clips. A lot of the discussion was a rehash of things we’ve been hearing for weeks or months. But though he didn’t say it directly, the clear import of his account is that a primary or perhaps the primary topic of their conversation was Robert Mueller’s investigation. Trump repeated that President Putin confirmed that there was no collusion. More notably, he said that in their private conversation Putin repeatedly lamented that the Mueller probe had driven the two countries apart and prevented them from doing great things for the world.
I am on vacation and so missed this in real time. I'm so angry. I knew he would be awful but he keeps exceeding my expectations for how awful he can be. The GOP is the party of Putin because they refuse to do anything about it. I'm terrified November can't come soon enough and can't possibly be enough (it can't) and we will lose all hope of recovery.
did anyone notice the difference in how he walked out with Putin vs the way he did with May all excited holding her hand for the presser. Not sure if he was just tired or scared but Putin completely looked like he was leading him and in charge.
I just turned on Fox and Friends because I was curious to see how they could possibly spin this as a good thing. Within the first 10 seconds I heard the commentator say (paraphrased). “Yeah, Trump said the wrong thing but let me remind you, it’s all Obama’s fault.”
