Historians responded with dismay and anger Monday after the White Houseās ā1776 Commissionā released a report that it said would help Americans better understand the nationās history by ārestoring patriotic education.ā āItās a hack job. Itās not a work of history,ā American Historical Association executive director James Grossman told The Washington Post. āItās a work of contentious politics designed to stoke culture wars.ā
If there was any doubt that he is a white supremacist... here's more evidence.

Yup.
this also really hits home (to me) how important elementary school history/social studies and such are. This read like so much of what I was taught in TN, 3rd/4th grade-ish. And it really hits home how that clouds your views for life. Like, I know better, but reading it, I was thinking āwow, this is what I was taught.ā And then, that reinforced how ingrained white supremacy is.
I can't wait to see the list of who gets pardons today. CNN says it will be around 100 people.
I've read that so far, he is not self pardoning, so that is something?
Except it didn't say anything about his kids not being on the list....
This says that he was talked out of self pardoning and pardoning his family.
"They all told Trump he should not pardon himself, his family or any GOP lawmakers in a prospective manner unless he was prepared to list specific crimes."
I looked at the 1776 report. It was a complete mess. Like, I'd fail an undergrad for turning it in. Not a single historian worked on it, the report has no citations, and they added in the entire text of the Declaration of Independence (to pad the page count?).
Plus the list of "challenges to America's principles" lists "progressivism" and "identity politics" next to slavery and fascism. š¤Æ

Oh god they're talking about caravans again.
Why does Hawley still have a job? Reasonable Missourians (that's a word, right?), do not let up on him. Same goes for you and your dumbass Senator, Texans.
I inadvertently clicked on the comments of a Twitter post about her nomination, and the responses were overwhelmingly āgood for her!ā And yes, there were a few negative comments but *every single one* said something along the lines of āI donāt like how she handled the COVID crisisā or āshe could have done a better job.ā Every single one was job performance-based.
Huh. That is, uh, not what I've seen. Like at all.
Transphobia is alive and well and it is vicious. I don't think that needs to be downplayed.
Seriously. I live in Philadelphia. The comments on the news Facebook about her are so gross and foul. It makes me want to punch people.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.ā
Forehead smack. Clearly was not thinking it through.
The garden is straight crazy, though. Wtf. I'm here for honoring contributions of US citizens to society, but what in the tacky-ass, haphazard hell is THAT idea?
There are a whoooooole lot of assholes on that list. Which I mean...sounds about right for a garden of Americans.

He knows some of those people are immigrants, right? I thought immigrants were evil.
I don't know if we have talked about this junk but it is like throwing gas on a flaming fire. It's just infuriating that a report like this was released by our own government.
YOU GUYS. Two of the names on the very bottom of the last page are students who graduated from my school. And I said out loud "of COURSE."
That document should only ever be used to teach satire. Then set on fire.
Is there any chance that the insurrectionist congresspersons will be ousted once the new Senate is sworn in?
I need to see consequences.
Doubtful. I am locally on my representative's case, as are many others here, and we won't stop even though we know expulsion won't happen. We expect she'll be gerrymandered out of a seat when we lose at least one seat in our state for 2022, or primaried.
ETA: The consequences I'd like to see that would be a bit more realistic is censuring each of the representatives and not allowing them to have seats on any committees. Basically, render them useless to their districts, like what happened with white nationalist Steve King (though he wasn't censured, just stripped of committee assignments).
CNN has been having live coverage all day of Biden. It must be killing 45. I wish it could literally kill him, it would be the best way to go out.
I love it. Iām so relieved that weāll have someone competent filling our highest office, someone our whole country can be proud of, someone who wonāt continue to make us a laughingstock on the world stage. Iām looking forward to not spending every day wondering what the chucklefuck will do next.*
*I have no doubt heāll continue to do horrible things and try to stay in the news, but at least he wonāt be in the Oval Office anymore
I don't think so. We're going to have a Madame Tussuads National Garden.
Fuck.
The "community garden" nonprofit here is selling a beautiful garden that was donated to them in 1988 for $1.2 million fucking dollars. The neighbors raised $500k in a matter of weeks to save it and they don't fucking care. The city doesn't fucking care. They have to sell it because they've mismanaged the fuck out of their finances. Fucking selfish assholes.
I know I'm hiding it well but I'm so fucking angry.
