I've been on a TCP kick and figured out quickly which ones I like and which ones are just "ok".
I'm almost finished with Bear Brook and LOVE it.
These are others that I very much enjoyed: 1. Someone Knows Something (Seasons 2, 5, 6) 2. The Orange Tree 3. Unraveled: Long Island Serial Killer 4. Your Own Backyard 5. Mommy Doomsday
These are okayish: 1. Crime Junkie 2. My Favorite Murder 3. Women and Crime
If you've listened to the first list and enjoyed them, can you give me some others that you think I'll like?

I haven't listened to your first list but I find Crime Junkie sooo fake dramatic that I have to be in the right mood to listen to them. I listened to and enjoyed Paper Ghosts and the Killing of JonBenet: The Final Suspects. Neither was amazing, but both held my interest. I can't recommend enough Unfinished: Deep South and You're Wrong About - the OJ series, which starts in October of 2019 I believe. Following for other ideas and will check out your list!
I've stepped back from TC podcasts since the pandemic, but I still listen to those guys. Their voices are so soothing to me and I just really like them overall.
Yes, I'm dying to listen to some of the TC "Your Wrong About" podcasts. I've heard they are really good. You have to scroll to find them because they have a bunch of podcasts that cover many topics. I also want to listen to their JFK episodes.
I enjoyed season 2 of Dr. Death. I just downloaded Spy Affair, but haven't listened yet. Most of the true crime podcasts are unsolved mysteries, which I don't really like. I need closure!

These are my favorite (same guy different women):
True Crime Obsessed Obsessed with Disappeared
I just started listening to Strange and Unexplained (brought to you from the same guy that does the same two above but isn’t on the podcast) and I really like it.
I’m in need of some good true crime podcasts. I’m not a fan of the one episode/one crime podcasts. I like the deep dive for a season on 1 case.
I just listened to Mommy Doomsday and am currently listening to Unraveled:Long Island serial killer and I’ve listed to bear brook too
Have you listened to up and vanished (I’ve listened to season 1) Monster (Atlanta monster, zodiac, and dc sniper) In the dark (I’ve listened to season 1) The thing about Pam is another dateline one like mommy doomsday Dr. Death Dirty John

I'm like this too! I need closure. However, I also like the ones where there is an obvious suspect but not enough evidence. So frustrating, but good to know their names are tarnished by these podcasts.

I tend to like series better with the same crime, drawn out by different events/perspectives/witnesses. But, I will do a single episode of a crime every now and again to break it up a bit.
Last Podcast on the left (especially the heavy hitter series but I think you can only get this on Spotify now), Dr Death, dirty John, Gladiator (this was about Aaron Hernandez).
Astray - this isn’t exactly about true crime, but about foreigners who go missing/dead in India. Most are related to a spiritual seeking, and the crime element isn’t really known. Dateline Small Town Dicks The Missionary Ear Hustle Mommy Doomsday The Thing About Pam Motive For Murder The Shrink Next Door S Town 13 Alibis The Dating Game Killer Dr Death This Is Actually Happening - this isn’t really true crime either, but each episode is a person telling a story about something really awful or strange that happened to them. A lot of them happen to be crime-related, though.
Casefile is my favorite. It's on the drier side - he's anonymous and is very much non-sensationalized. The newer ones can be hit or miss, but the middle portion of his BIG back catalog are really good. He also covers a lot of lesser known ones, and Australian ones (that's where he's based)

Hell and Back — I just finished Season 3 although all were good. “This season, she investigates the death of Mitrice Richardson in Malibu, California. On September 16, 2009, the Lost Hills Sheriff’s department responded to a 911 at a local restaurant where 24 year old Mitrice was behaving erratically and refused to pay her bill. Police took her to jail then released her in the middle of the night without her phone, wallet or access to her car. She was never seen alive again.”
I prefer the more chatty/1 episode ones since I like them for background noise.
My favorites are My Favorite Murder, Morbid, Wine and Crime, Small Town Murder, The Murder Squad
I did enjoy Serial, Up and Vanished, Cold, someone knows something (also check out missing and murdered if you liked this one) for the more serial type.
Crime junkie drives me absolute nutty bc it’s so scripted.
Unravel True Crime—Australian, several series of various crimes. I enjoyed it because it is cases I don’t know anything about unlike a lot of American series. ABC Australia in general has some good podcasts. I think I’m trying Thin Black Line next.

I love TCO and OwD, but they annoy H because of all the shrieking, lol.
I've been binging Redhanded recently. It's a couple of British women and I love their accents (they do curse a fair bit, if that bothers you). I also really liked Dr. Death.
Culpable was good. And of course Serial the OG. I still sometimes go back and relisted to it. I also love crime series but now I can't remember any other ones I've listened to.

Same! It was a glorious time in my life when I got to binge like 150 episodes! I’m glad you’ve said the more recent ones are hit and miss because some have truly sucked :/.
I also looove Tenfold More Wicked which is a historical true crime podcast.
The American Nightmare series, Season 1 was about the DC family who was held hostage in their home. It was addicting. Season 2 is in process and hasn’t gripped me as much.
Bards town was just okay, about four unsolved murders in a small KY town, but I was still subscribed and they started Season 2 about a murder in Louisiana and I’m really enjoying it.

They covered JFK? How did I miss that?
I don't remember JFK either.
Their series on the DC Sniper was great. Even though I was aware about it when it was happening I didn't really actually know anything about the case.

Well damn. I was going to link it for you but it's not coming up. I must be mistaking it for another podcast that was recommended to me.
I liked both seasons of Dr. Death. I also liked Bad Batch.
I am listening to season one of Accused and I am enjoying it a lot. Manslaughter was quite good. The Wonderland Murders, Dating Game Killer, Detective Trapp, Bardstown, Motive for Murder, and I started season one of The Sneak, which had some funny parts.

I wasn’t sure I would be able to handle it either but I got past it. They have ruined other podcast for me. Lol
