We’re past this now but the idea of an HOA in Philly is absolutely killing me. I’d read a book of complaints on my old street alone. The unspeakable shit it would contain.
lol there are so many assumptions being made in this thread. That the neighbor is a cam girl doing this for money, that she KNOWS she's exposing herself to a child, that she's PURPOSEFULLY exposing herself to a child, that she's masturbating, that she's getting pleasure from her neighbors seeing her and so she's a pervert.
The assumptions are killing me. I don’t know why I keep coming back. My eyes are going to be stuck in the back of my head.
Uh huh, yup. So the ladies that posted doing the same thing that thought they couldn't be seen are also perverts then. Gotcha. Yup, old pervy perves...
To me, walking naked in your home when you believe your window is at angle that is private, versus what was described by OP, is different.
I'm okay with not thinking this individual is that naive to think her situation is acceptable.
Our neighbor lives in a NICE house at the end of a cul de sac.
The house has tons of big windows and it opens up to a trail that is heavily used and you can see into the house.
As I said, the house is nice. It's expensive.
It has no window coverings at all. On any of the windows.
It entered my mind that these people might be in the same situation.
Honestly. Here is a scenario: the people enjoy sex, or feel comfortable with less clothes on, or she's a sex worker..
And, they don't actually have window coverings.
And, they don't KNOW or CARE about their neighbors. 🤷♀️
Guys. If I stood with my blinds open in my bedroom and gave my phone a softcore song and dance, the whole block would see it. These houses are soclosetogether. You know people can see everything. My blinds are always down in every room except for the kitchen window, which faces a brick wall.
Could be she's that oblivious, could be she doesn't care. Doesn't mean Meg is wrong for not wanting her 9yo son to catch a titty show while he's getting ready for bed.

That doesn't make them perverts.
Come on.
She said it's just an alley between houses, no? This isn't trail walking oopsie daisy this is a kid seeing gyrating at his next door neighbors.
I can respect that some cultures, countries, and societies may see this as NBD but in suburbia America, it's not only frowned upon generally but often illegal.
I would be 10/10 scandalized if my child's first exposure was next door neighbor across the alley knowlingly flashed her jingle jangles to the neighborhood.

As mom of a teen I can promise they will see and learn more at school than through the neighbors windows

Okay well the point of my post was that we don't know if the neighbors have curtains. Which can happen anywhere. 🙄
Some of this is so weird.
I'm laughing bc you are right: the US was founded on rigid Protestant ideals of sex and you are definitely selling it lol.
Also I don't get what Meg is supposed to do here "STOP! my sons first exposure to sex can't be THIS WAY! NO GYRATING women in the windows!"
That the woman isn't stupid and knows she can be seen and doesn't care and this makes her a pervert and I wouldn't frost my windows to indulge a pervert

Fin
Not caring and being a pervert aren’t the same, though. We don’t even know for sure that she knows she can be seen. If she was getting off on performing whatever acts she is knowing that her neighbors were watching, that would be a different story.

*rubs temples* but her kid is not a teen.
This is not the point.
Neither was my daughter when a kid brought a playboy to school to show on the playground. 🤷🏻♀️ Or hearing two middle schoolers talk about oral sex on the bus. Teens aren’t the only ones who hear and talk about sex.
At the beginning of the thread a law was posted that if someone could see from reasonable means, the person doing the act is actually in the wrong
It's her second story window looking into a second story window. So, it would be an interesting case, would it not?
In scenarios like this where people are living close together in rowhouses your windows line up. You can easily see second floor windows from the street. It’s not a McMansion on a cul-de-sac and a giant yard or even a Rear Window situation. It is very reasonable to think that someone can see into your directly parallel windows from a few yards a way. My rowhouse neighbors behind me were less than 25 ft away including the alley. I could tell if their part was crooked.
People get fined for this in Baltimore. I can’t imagine it’s that different in nearly identical houses in Philadelphia. I would write them a note but there is no way anyone with any sense doesn’t know people can see them.

Peeping or nudity?
I, personally, would 1) be mortified, and 2) fight like hell if I got fined for walking around my house nude. The reasonable expectation is that people aren't looking into your house.
(At this point this is an academic question to me.) It's like the Friends running gag of them looking into Ugly Naked Guy's apartment. They can see him, they know they shouldn't be looking, and yet who is at fault?

People touching themselves and/or lingering and/or dancing in front of the window naked repeatedly as in this scenario. Not people simply changing for bed or forgetting now and again to close the blinds.
In high density housing areas we all know we can see into each other’s houses and are more careful. Everything is exactly lined up so everyone knows you can see in your window with zero effort. There isn’t the blanket expectation of privacy you get in the suburbs. If you want to walk around nude it’s on you to have curtains or frost your windows. Or move, I guess.
I didn’t watch Friends so I don’t know what the naked man was doing.

It's the person who knows others can reasonably see into their windows fault.
I live across from a park and motel. I close my blinds. I don't want to be the asshole whose kid at the park saw my tit and scarred that kid for life.
