I have another one that is probably kind of flameful: having pets.
There are aspects of having a dog that I miss, but mostly I’m happy not to have to deal with one.
Right there with you. Our dog is 14 years old, and probably on his last legs. We love him dearly, he's our first "child" (DH and I got him when we had been dating a year), but at the same time, he's another thing to take care of. We are NOT getting another animal when he passes, not anytime soon.

Dogs … I loved mine dearly and miss them greatly but it isn’t enough to get another one. It was a parenting win when I was able to convince dd that pandemic hamsters were ok vs a pandemic puppy.
Family vacations with young children. (Said as we drive up to Breck for the week. Lol)
I’m joking kind of.
Family vacations are a twist on labor and delivery in that you're all crammed into one room, someone is always hungry, someone else is crying, and someone's screaming in pain. Bonus points if you brought a dog.
LOL. As a former L&D nurse, I can vouch this is totally accurate! Omg.
