Has anyone watches the first 2 episodes of season 2 yet?
I wonder if they are going to have Miranda stay in California long term and how that will work with only having 2 of the original 4 in NYC interacting with each other? I think it would be great if they had Smith Jerrod do a cameo - run into Miranda in LA.
Carrie’s podcast. I know nothing about podcasts but it seems so unlikely that they would cancel every podcast that recorded in a studio because Carrie didn’t want to do 1 advertisement especially that quickly when she was actively rewriting it like they told her she could… that just seemed extreme.
They’ll all end up back in NYC so Kim Cattrall can make her big comeback. Although that may take all season.

Oh we also laughed a lot at Carried “having something” in her closet, as if she wouldn’t have four hundred fittings of a dress before the actual Met Gala, especially if the stylist is a newbie.

yes. I just watched and I agree. Which just adds to my take - the stories all seem so contrived and forced.

I watched the first episode of season 2 and it’s just so so very bad. Beginning with the opening montage of the women walking out of their bedrooms going to seduce their people.
The dialogue was so forced and cringe in every single scene. It really takes real talent to make it that consistently cringe.
I watched, and I agree that the writing is still bad and the situations are so contrived. I was mentally rewriting scenes in my head as I watched, and it would have been so easy to make them make sense, or at least not ridiculous. How is it so bad? Do the good writers boycott this show, or what?
Mild positives: The first two episodes of season 2 are a *little* less miserable than season 1 when Big died. And it’s great that they’re representing more diversity, since there hardly was any for the first series’ entire run. But poorly written diversity is still hard to watch.
That said, I’ll probably watch every episode. Sigh. I don’t know what kind of hold this show has on me that I’ll watch no matter how bad it was. I guess if I sat through the second movie, I can get through this.

I loved the Met Gala dress that wasn’t meant to be but the whole ‘oh I might have something in my closet that’ll work on short notice’ seemed gimmicky

Why do I think Miranda is gonna have something with Che’s ex? I will admit I was pleasantly surprised to see Oliver Hudson. But, yes, she’s gotta get back to NYC somehow and a break up with Che will do it.

I watched the first episode and part of the next (until Miranda gets picked up). It’s not great, but it’s mindless entertainment. I think the sex feels over the top and I’m not puritanical by any means. I may even have said this in last year’s thread, but I don’t at all enjoy the new simpering insecure Miranda. I continue to think Carrie is self centered and the characters are parodies of themselves. But I also hadn’t watched the original since basically it aired so maybe I just remember it differently:

I was coming in to say the same. I mean, Emily in Paris is bad (my other guilty pleasure), but it knows it. I feel like this show is just bad and isn't self aware enough to know. I'm embarrassed for the characters.
1. Honestly, it would be an amazing world where a woman's vaginal dryness cream had that much promotional power to bring down an entire podcasting entity. They made it seem like Vagisil was basically a billion dollar sponsor, which would really be incredible. What would it say about the state of the world if women's feminine products held so much sway.
2. It was a little silly, but I loved seeing Carrie re wear her wedding dress, I wish they showed just a few more seconds. I also loved the scene of the red costume with the husband. 😍
3. Someone at the clean up would have helped Miranda come on.
4. I feel the characters are still ridiculous, but less parodies of their 90/2000s selves..the first two episodes have a little less try hard this go round

When the woman (I can’t remember her name, Lisa?) was trying to get ready for the Met and was all stressed and her H just kept trying to have sex, I was so irritated on her behalf. READ THE ROOM DUDE. Let her do her thing and simmer down.

Also, she told him no. That should’ve been the end of it. Men who continually badger women for sex are gross.

I have a question because I don’t know/can’t remember-did Miranda quit her job/retire? Are they retirement age now? Like why is she just out in Cali hanging around with Che now? I’m sure they covered this in the first season but I’m blanking. It does seem like the antithesis of what she was during the OG series and it’s annoying.

She is one of the best parts of the show. Her husband is annoying AF this season.
Also, I still find it odd that Carrie, who writes a sex column, is so prudish about things. Can't say vaginal dryness? It is so odd.
I could see not wanting to support the product if it was like a jade egg or some other “vaginal wellness” product that is not helpful/potentially harmful but I agree that she should be more open/comfortable talking about vaginas when she has made a career out of talking about sex.
I didn’t think it was vaginal dryness… I thought it was more of a douche-type product for “a clean and fresh vagina” and she didn’t want to endorse that specific product. …
I loved the young Asian guy on the beach. “The world is already dead” and the snide side-eyes 🤣
I loved the Met outfits but it was only like 5 seconds!! Come on. Give us some fashion!!
I can’t stand Miranda this season. She threw her entire life away for what? Che? I don’t like the way Che treats Miranda either. It shouldn’t be a surprise to find out that your partner is married to someone else.
I like the podcast producer guy and really don’t want to see Aidan again. I couldn’t stand his character in the original show.
This show is so spectacularly bad yet I still watch.
Carrie is insufferable but always has been.
Charlotte is the truest to how she was in the original series and I enjoy her story lines the most (although maybe that’s because I relate to her the most as a hugh strung perfectionist parent of teens lol)
Miranda - WTF. She’s having a mid life crises and those drive me crazy. She’s lost all the self confidence and stubbornness that was her character before. I do NOT understand what she sees in Che. Nothing wrong with Che, just I do not see what Miranda sees in her/this life. This is a woman who has major trauma over leaving Manhattan for Brooklyn. Come ON.
They have lost what made the original show frothy and fun - the 4 women getting together and discussing light hearted sex and life issues. Now there are too many independent story lines and lots of scenes of two characters talking but none of the (3 now) main characters getting together and talking .
