I’m taking G and dd to the home show h is working this weekend for his company. Tonight, MIL is taking dd to a dinner show and I think h is going out with BIL, so might just be a quiet night for G and I.
Tomorrow, I’m taking G and dd to a trampoline park with a group of exchange students. They’re fun to hang out with, so looking forward to that.

Sounds fun!
I’m getting a pedi now and then grabbing Starbucks and going to the park with DS. He woke up at 1am screaming and didn’t go back down until 5. I asked him when he woke up this morning what was wrong and he doesn’t remember any of this.
We stopped by my in-laws' place on our drive back from Florida. It used to be hell on earth for me to visit them, but this time it hasn't been bad. I think after 13 years, they've finally learned to leave me alone.
There is so much Boomerism here. Two adults who live with 4 cars, 4 bedrooms and 4 refrigerators.
Yesterday evening right when we were trying to figure out what we wanted for dinner, the couple that lives in our neighborhood texted and asked if we wanted to grab a drink with them! I ran outside to H and was like, “We have friends! Actual friends!” Lol so we did dinner and drinks with them and it was super fun.
Today I’m cleaning and packing for our overnight in Ft. Worth for the Turnpike Troubadours concert tonight. They don’t go on until 10pm 😩 and it’s standing room only. We would not be going if H wasn’t obsessed with them lol But I also really enjoy their music so it should be fun.
I’ve done my meal planning and need to get dressed and go to the stores. The kids have a birthday party this afternoon, so I need to take them to grab a gift for that. Otherwise, I’m just getting the normal weekend chores done.
Hoping to spend a good amount of time reading.
I am considering maybe getting a dog again once DH is feeling better. Timing could work out for summer-ish, which would be good. We don’t have a lot of plans. I still have to get myself past all the logistical headaches of dog ownership before I bring it up to H though.

I’ve been holed up inside for a bit during recovery (partly because of pain and partly because of wound healing issues) and I’m excited to get outside and go for a walk today. I’m dressed, I put on makeup for the first time in five weeks, and it’s gorgeous outside. I feel human!
Also, H and I got into pretty significant debt several years back due both to things beyond our control as well as living beyond our means, and next month we will have entirely paid it off. 🎉
Last day of DD's covid exposure quarantine, so it was already going to be low key. Well, we were all up half of the night because she has a stomach bug or something, so we're all just recovering from lack of sleep. Thank goodness she seems fine this morning! Hopefully it was a one night thing. I'm planning on taking a nap when she does.

We are heading to synagogue this morning once I can get out of bed. My goal this afternoon is to pack most of our Passover stuff away - we acquired a lot this year so I don’t think it will all fit in the usual cupboard…I’m going to need to figure out storage. And then tonight…I’m looking at you, pizza! Woot!

We’re going to my in-laws to celebrate Easter.
Yesterday I checked my bank account and saw that I got paid a LOT more than I expected in short-term disability for maternity leave, despite our HR guy explicitly telling me it’d be next to nothing. That was a fun surprise that makes me feel better about how much we owed in taxes this year. 🥲
Why is shopping in stores such an aggravating experience? I just want a basic black shell with short sleeves. Is that really so much to ask for? I always forget how fruitless it is for me to do this.
Did a 60-minute endurance ride this morning, now doing errands, and have lots of house purging to do. Maybe a nap. C is going to see a movie with friends this afternoon, and another one with other friends tomorrow.
ETA: add greeting cards to the list of things that are unexpectedly expensive. I grabbed one that was $16!!! That one went back….there were maybe 5 cards in all of Target that were under $5.

I’ve been not-so-great at keeping the weight off my ankle. My house is tiny and full of baby and Kid related obstacle (no no, it’s fun to have each kid in a fully different phase of childhood, really 🤪). Crutches are more trouble than they’re worth, or so I thought. Not so shockingly, I’m feeling it today. I can’t wait to get this huge splint off Thursday. All I can do it sit around f and get annoyed at all the disorganization!
DS started meds for ADHD today. He’s such a nice, fun teenager at the moment, BUT he’s a disaster as an 8th grader about to go to hs- forgetful, disorganized, inattentive. I hope it helps…..
I came down with a bad cold (not COVID) of course when we FINALLY have nice weekend weather.
So instead of grilling in the park with friends, and doing my volunteer gig, I get to sit around inside and cough up a truly incredible spectrum of phlegm.

YAY for outdoor time and feeling human! H and I just sold a house and paid off all our debt except the resort and it is so nice not having any of that stuff hanging over our heads. Congratulations on both of these things!
My only plan for today is to meal plan for the next couple weeks and watch the Super cross race at 1:00 if H is back from the neighbor's by then. If not, we'll record it and watch it later. I also need to fold laundry and I really should start resort laundry, but I might wait to do that until next week when it's nice outside and I can hang the laundry on the clothes line to dry instead of running it through the dryer. And if H isn't home in time to watch the race live, then I'll probably start cleaning out our back porch so we can move a cooler out there and maybe get our outdoor kitchen sort of put together.

I got groceries done and went to the library this morning. My city's farmers market has started back up and it's right next to the library... so people will park at the library and walk over. Completely ignoring the signs that say it's library parking only during library open hours. Hmmph.
Then someone took my cart at the grocery store and I think I must have glared because we crossed paths in produce and she apologized. Of course I told her "no worries there are plenty of carts" and smiled. But still... Hmmph.
Then an unknown car was in my assigned parking spot when I got home. (Insert Sheldon's "you're in my spot" gif lol.) There's plenty of spaces so I just park somewhere else. No big deal... But Hmmph...
And then H was hangry and complaining about how he felt and (being a loving helpful wife) I suggested he eat something and maybe think about getting some blood work done because he's been complaining about these symptoms for a while and it might be his blood sugar. And he countered by telling me there were things (exercise) that he feels I need to do but he's nice enough not to nag me about it. Which, lol forever. If I complain about any.thing he lectures me about diet and exercise. So fine. He wants to feel like shit and do nothing about it? Fine. I'd like to keep him around for a few more decades. But whatever.

We went out for a single drink at a local pub last night. I had cricket training this morning followed by doing errands and my H is cooking dinner tonight. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night so just want to relax and go to bed early, especially as I'm playing in a cricket match tomorrow afternoon. We'll go to the farmer's market in the morning (grab breakfast and a few bits) and then go out for a drink in the evening.
I took DS1 to the mall to look for football cleats for his enormous size 11.5 feet and there none to be found. Hardly any online either. He needs white, green or blue for his football team next year and I finally found some on Amazon for the tune of $180! Dang expensive kids! I have to go to Total Wine tonight and buy $700 worth of wine for the school auction next weekend. I’m both excited and dreading going.

Tonight is the last night of our middle school musical, Annie Jr. I love directing but I’m so excited to get my afternoons and evenings back! We had the show and then cast party last night. I slept til 9am! I never get to sleep that late. My DH is a rockstar for taking care of the boys this week.
Tomorrow I plan to sleep in and have breakfast ordered in. Then I’m going to sit on my ass on the couch with a movie and some grading that I’m seriously behind on.

We went hiking at a new nature preserve about an hour away. They have thousands of bluebells that are currently in bloom and it was so beautiful to see! The weather here is gorgeous - sunny, breezy, and 80 degrees. The nicest day in a long time. After our long hike, we came home and are going to mow the grass and put the kiddie pool up for our dog to cool off in. Tonight we're grilling out burgers and hanging out on our patio. It feels like summer!
My son and I were the only people that showed up for chess this week. Private lesson for us! I ended up playing the chess coach, much to my horror, but he said I did pretty well. We have to start practicing more. It really trains you to think things through and we could all use more of that.

There is definitely a cleat shortage. I started looking for cleats for a size 11 wide and a size 9 months before we needed them because they've been impossible to find. We even went to the sports resale shop and nothing in the right sizes. DS2's are uncomfortable and we told him he just had to deal with it for the season because we'd never find another pair and they won't fit him next season anyway.

Trader Joe's are 99 cents and have nice paper (they're not those really slick, flimsy cards you get for free in the mail - which I've definitely been using for card-giving occasions lately). I was surprised and picked up a couple for the next few months.
I cleaned up the weeds and dead plants in the front yard this morning, then had a massage. When I got back, my H and I finally walked over to a local restaurant that we've been talking about trying literally since the day we moved in here - 2 years ago. We had been waiting for the pandemic to get better and then just never got around to it these last few months. Anyway, it's kind of like a clean version of a dive bar and our burgers were actually really good. And my beer was $4.50! That's super cheap for around here. We are excited that it is within walking distance and they have a ton of TVs so we are thinking it will be a good place to watch sports. They also have live music on Friday/Saturday nights if we ever got really ambitious and wanted to go out just the 2 of us in the evening, which almost never happens lol.
Now we're just going to hang out and probably watch a movie. Hopefully play a game later. Tomorrow we have no set plans but I'm hoping to go for a hike in the morning. Also need to do something schoolwork at some point.
I was saying yesterday how I am getting more and more sweaty as I get older and damn. I was dripping this morning when weeding, and just got really hot walking home too. It's not even that hot out! I am dreading summer.

We went to the mall with MIL this weekend so she could buy our son a backpack. We had that very specific mission. She bought him a backpack, 4 pairs of pants, overalls, I think a hat, a toy and had to be physically restrained from buying him more. She was hopped up on the excitement of it, seriously jumping from one item to the next like she'd just had 4 coffees hahaha. Please keep in mind he is too young to be aware of any of this and that even his birthday is in 9 days (it's fine, I'm fine) she was saying none of this was a birthday present!
I need to put our living-dining room back together because everything is pushed into one corner from having the rug cleaned yesterday. Then I can finally put together our new TV stand (is this what it's called in English even if you don't actually put a TV on it? Just like, a piece of furniture for random living room shit?) and put away the storage bins that have been filling that space for 2 weeks. Very exciting stuff over here.
