Why would you even want them there? I’d cut a parent off for far less than this!
I'd rescind an invite so fast. And if there were a chance he'd show up anyway, I'd circulate his pic (do you know who I am?!) to all security at the venue. Fuck that.

Who else he’s following the Michigan gubernatorial primary? The Kevin Rinke ads attacking Tudor Dixon forhaving supposed never Trump support are just….and TD is a terrible candidate. Whoever gets the GOP nomination will be by a small margin—like 30% if the vote IMO. Rinke injected 10 mill of his own dollars into his campaign and has the most money of all GOP candidates which is why you will be inundated with his ads the next few days.
And I totally frivolous note, Gretchen Whitmer looks amazing in her new ads. Like whatever she has done, if anything, her skin looks great and she looks really beautiful.

The Republican candidates are all absolutely terrible. There’s Rinke, who reportedly has said women shouldn’t be allowed to work. Kelley has been arrested for participating in Jan 6. Soldano is a chiropractor who opposes any measure of public health. @@@@@dixon thinks a 14 year old rape victim needs to see their baby resulting from that rape as a blessing. Rebandt wants to have the Bible taught in schools.@@@@@
And that’s just the very beginning of awfulness about each candidate. For the August primary, every Dem I could vote for at the state and local level is running unopposed, so I was considering voting for the least objectionable Republican. But with candidates like this, I really don’t think there is a “least objectionable” one. If Whitmer doesn’t win in November, this state is completely fucked.
It was three tweets and they were all about January 6th. I agree with the tweet that you can't be pro-police and pro-insurrection and I also agree that you can be anti-police brutality/racism/union etc. and be anti-insurrection. I don't think they are mutually exclusive or even the same thing.
I support and applaud the police who protected the capitol on January 6th but I don't support the majority of policing in America.

Plus a lot of people who participated in the insurrection (or supported it) are supposedly pro-police. They are the same type of people who are all "blue lives matter" but that's only really because they don't care about Black folks being murdered, not because they aren't going to disregard the lives of police when it isn't convenient for themselves.
I have said something similar before when watching videos of the insurrection where police were being attacked - this is the really the blue lives matter crowd participating here? Hypocrites.
Of course it is hypocritical. But I also think being pro-police in general is problematic. So just pointing out the hypocrisy without also acknowledging the harm police do just seems par for the course for Biden. Just my opinion, that’s all.

The AG race is really scary. Delperno is a walking ethics nightmare, has been sanctioned by judges numerous times, sued by old law partners, he has no ethical standards at all and its frightening to think about what he would do wtih the AGs office.
20 Republicans voted NO on renewal of anti-trafficking bill. Their names need to be shouted from the roof tops. Not that it would make a difference to those willing to vote for them. One is Matt Gaetz who is under federal investigation for sex trafficking.

“Attorney General Ken Paxton and more than 20 other attorneys general are challenging the federal Food and Nutrition Service’s new policy that recipients of food assistance funds update their nondiscrimination policies to protect LGBTQ people.”
The second time in 2 months that US conservatives have had Orban as a speaker. My loved ones in Lviv won’t leave despite how close they are to the west because they are gay and Jewish. They are landlocked by anti-gay countries, of which Hungary is the most terrifying and so flagrantly anti-Semitic. One has family in the Balkans but they have to cross Hungary to get there, so they stay in Lviv under regular threat of Russian missiles. And so twice in 2 months, US conservatives look to this evil man for inspiration and guidance for their party which checks out.
A gathering of US conservatives in Texas next week will still include Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban as a speaker despite his recent comments which prompted a long-time ally to resign from his government and compare his comments to Nazism.
In a speech over the weekend to supporters in Romania, Orban railed against a “flood” of migrants being “forced” on Hungary. He said he wanted to prevent Hungary from becoming a “mixed-race” country, adding that countries with a high level of racial mixing are no longer countries. Zsuzsanna Hegedus, who is Jewish and his long-time ally and adviser, resigned. The Romanian foreign minister also criticized the remarks.

Blegh. The party system sucks, but a third party isn't going to do anything. We need major electoral reform first and foremost (generally, and for anything to break the two-party system).
Former Republicans and Democrats form new third U.S. political party
The new party, called Forward and whose creation was first reported by Reuters, will initially be co-chaired by former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang and Christine Todd Whitman, the former Republican governor of New Jersey. They hope the party will become a viable alternative to the Republican and Democratic parties that dominate U.S. politics, founding members told Reuters.

This is so sick. I read a different article earlier (NBC and Politico) that said they think it’s a broader inroad to LGBTQ protections (sports, locker rooms, etc) even though it is only a USDA mandate. But they will hold food hostage, and the USDA can’t really withhold funds because it’s fucking FOOD, so these guys know they can play reindeer games and keep spreading the hate around.
There is a lot of speculation that Manchin was playing McConnell on this one. McConnell had been threatening to fillibuster and kill the CHIPS bill if the Dems attempted to pass a reconciliation bill. Manchin announced he was opposed to the reconciliation bill, CHIPS passed, and now Manchin is saying he'll vote for the reconciliation bill. I'll believe Manchin when it actually passes and not a moment before, but if it is indeed the case there may be hope for the Dems learning how to play politics yet.

Oh, the Christy Todd Whitman who stole from the state pension system, effectively decimating it and creating a budgetary crisis that remains today? Cool, cool, business as usual, I see.
Help me understand why democrats aren’t out there trying to convince people that the reason they are struggling with inflation and rising prices for everything is because republicans are hampering every single effort in Congress to create relief? Because the Republican focus on the economy and how bad it is is going to work in the elections if people don’t understand what’s actually happening.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

And in the meantime the Republicans blocked the PACT act from getting renewed, which helps veterans exposed to toxic burn pits get access to health care out of spite.

This seems … unwise. Almost if not all of the veterans I know personally vote Republican. I don’t think they are an anomaly. Why fuck over your own voter supporters?

Oh that's nothing new for them. Even if their supporters don't realize it.

Because their own supporters are willing to believe everything that they say. If they say, "Oh, that's the Democrats' fault," they'll believe it.
