A real random question, what do you use for virus protection for a laptop? My mcafee subscription just renewed for $150 for the year and that seems excessive. Is there a cheaper way? (And all with the hopes I can get my money back).
sunshineluv, I'm using Sophos for my new laptop. I reached out to my techie friends and they recommended it. I later found out that it's also what my company's IT department has chosen for our systems. Not sure on cost and how it compares to McAfee, though.
My random is that I'm working on a project for someone who is difficult to work with - just frustrating, doesn't communicate with me, doesn't seem to understand my role or value computer documentation (my job). I showed him what I've worked up so far, which I think looks great, and he was ... ... well, he came across as underwhelmed. So, OF COURSE, I've been obsessing about that ever since because my brain will.just.not.let.it.go. Fucking brain.
I just use windows defender and share a back-up program with my mom. I don't really use my laptop enough to justify paying for anything. It's mostly designs I do on my silhouette cutter and PTA stuff.
I'm starting to research work staff gifts. I try and do practical plus chocolate (they all like chocolate). I'm also the intern coordinator, but not the supervisor, so I don't know if I should get them all something small too. There's 15 interns.
I tried using a CBD/THC tincture to see if it would help with my anxiety and maybe give me a little buzz. Per my therapist, with my new diagnosis of PTSD in addition to my GAD I should have no trouble getting a Medical card, but I wanted to try it before going through the process. Anyway, I was told to start at a low dose of 5mg THC. I got all the way up to a 50mg dose and nothing and everything that I read said that I should be experiencing something. I don't get it.
Is there a way to politely retract an interview invite? I sent two interview requests to candidates and the back and forth with their inability to read my original emails and/or tell me they are doing the interview on company time/equipment has made me go, No thank you.
But I need a way to politely get out of now actually doing the interview.

Following up, thank you for your interest but we are going a different direction.

ssmjlm Ask A Manager says it is more polite to rescind the invite than to waste their time. She says to email this: “My apologies — we’ve had a change in plans on our end and won’t be able to proceed with the interview after all, but I wish you all the best in your search.”

Where did you get your supply from? What was 50mg? Because if you took 50mg of THC you’d be definitely feeling it. Lol. We take edibles that are 10mg, and we split them.
I’m wondering if you either were sold a bill of goods, or the CBD amount is what you looked at, or it was 50mg for the entirety of what you got. Like we get mints, and it’ll say xyz amount of thc for the whole pack. It’ll also say how much per item, but smaller writing for sure.

My son has a Medical card and he got it for me from a Dispensary. The bottle is 300mL and says that .5mL provides 5mg of THC. I worked my way up each day increasing my dose by .5mL and got up to 5.0mL which would be 50mg and felt nothing, and by everything I read I should have been feeling quite a lot. My son said that some people have a natural tolerance to edibles and that I probably need to try another delivery method, but I really have no interest in smoking or vaping.
Of course, now that I'm writing this all out I'm second guessing myself. I need to re-read the bottle next time I go upstairs.

If I were really really rich I think I would pay someone to bring clothes to my house for me to choose from. Like, here is my style and my measurements, you deal with finding the things and returning what I don't want.
This message brought to you by the absolute STRUGGLE I am having to find basic. jean. shorts. as I stand in line for a fitting room with more options that will probably be failures. If these don't work I may have to become a nudist.
My DD11 had mid/lower back pain, on and off. I'm worried because I have a horrible back and she's been growing so much. Like 4 inches in the last year. She hasn't gotten her first period yet but I'm sure it's coming soon. Maybe it's related to that?
We are taking her to the doctor but they can't get her in until Monday.
Today is my Friday, and I'm also taking a half day today! I have some vaca time to use up so I decided this week to take a bunch of long weekends before the end of the year. No major plans, but my H may take off tomorrow as well. If he does, we're going to walk the trail near our house and then go out for lunch. I have plans in the evening at a neighbor's for a Bunco party. I've never played, but it sounds fun. More of a reason to get together and eat/drink. We have a wedding to go to on Saturday, and I'm so happy the weather is going to be fantastic (mid-70s, so unusual for the NE)!
I really wish my sons coach gave us a rough schedule in advance. Its very frustrating to not know if I am picking my son up at 1:45 or 5 today. Its 11:30 and Id liek to know what my afternoon looks like Coach!!
Are honey baked hams good? I'm considering one for Thanksgiving because none of us really care for turkey.
Yes, I think they're pretty good! We've used them on occasion and have gotten the spiral ham. We'll often get one at Christmas; my H will make a prime rib or bakes ziti, then we have the ham as another option. They're super easy!
We are on vacation for Thanksgiving but I am debating with myself if I want to cook a meal the following weekend. We were in Mexico over Thanksgiving last year and while our resort did serve some traditional foods, they were not "right" and I missed the good stuff. We are going to go out on Thanksgiving but it might be fun to cook the first weekend of December when we're home and don't have any plans.
I am about $125 off of my goal for the 5k fundraiser I'm doing this weekend for the non-profit where I work. I'm so tempted to just donate myself, but I already paid $100 between our registrations and my first donation so I'm not sure I want to do more, especially since we'll also be donating to attend the fundraiser event in February with the same organization. I'm hoping I get a few more last minute donations so maybe I can donate a smaller amount to finish it off.

True random. My coworkers now believe I'm crazy. I don't know how the conversation started, but I told them all orange cats have an "M" on their forehead. There is a legend that there was an orange cat in the manager with baby Jesus and it comforted him. Mary in gratitude drew her M on the cat and now orange cats are forever marked. I realize this makes no sense, but the internet backs me up!

I think they are good but we actually like the spiral one from Aldi with the black label better. It’s normally back with their seasonal refrigerated items, not the sale/Aldi Finds hams

Tabby cats have the M! And most (all?) orange cats are tabbys

Huh. I've always heard that the M is for Muhammad, who marked his cat with an M after it saved him from being bitten by a poisonous snake!

They are and I've ordered them when I've really just not wanted to deal with it. There are hams at the grocery store that are really good, though, and almost as easy, especially if you prefer your ham warmed.
If you do order from HBH, choose curbside pickup. The line is always crazy long at ours (out the store and down the block) but I've never had a wait at curbside.
@sameoldstory, in regards to the THC - you might be like me and meds just do not work no matter how much you take. I had genetic testing done and my body metabolizes everything incredibly fast, that is why nothing works for me.
A great example I can give right now is Ritalin (the generic is methylphenidate). Most people take 10 mg. I took 60mg this AM and it is not working.
It's the same with alcohol for me. I can drink everyone under the table and never get drunk.

I volunteered at my kid’s Scholastic book fair this morning, and I want to report it is *still* the happiest place on earth. Their wide eyes and excitement! The absolute avalanche of books! Arms full of stuff! It was so fun!

I was reading the book fair thread on MMM and got wistful wishing that book fairs existed for adults and then I remembered that bookstores exist...
I pretty much exclusively use the library now so I kind of forgot lol

Interesting. I had some genetic testing done at some point that shows that I metabolize several medications very quickly, we were testing various anxiety meds. I also have an extremely high tolerance for alcohol (I drank a pint glass of whiskey last night and barely had a buzz) and don't even bother with things like Vicodin when I'm injured because even the highest dose doesn't help with pain, but never really put two and two together.
I also double checked the packaging and it is definitely 5mg per 0.5mL, so I definitely took 50mg.
