DS asked me if I could drive a friend to their practice today. I picked DS up after school and the kid was with him and we got back to the house and DS packed up his gear and then we were going to head to the kids house to get his. The kid asked to use the bathroom before we left. I just got home from dropping them off and went into the bathroom and realized my bra was hanging on the hand towel rack. I am mortified. This was the first time I have ever met this kid.
I drove Lucy to school this morning since I had time, with David being off for a faculty meeting. Then I went to the nice suburban target to get soda and diapers and boring stuff like that. I love that I don’t have to buzz someone for toothpaste and soap there! I got a pistachio cream cold brew at Starbucks too. But I’m tired and ready for a nap now.
Ok it was a 2 margarita lunch date today, but what does buzz someone for toothpaste and soap mean? You have to literally push a buzzer and they keep this stuff behind a counter?
Yes, haha sorry, all this stuff is locked up in the city. shampoo, soap, toothpaste, advil, the list goes on!
DD1 got invited to a roller skaiting bday party this weekend too! I’m making my H take her because I hate roller skating so much! As a kid, our school went every year as an end of the year field trip and I was the kid that always got hurt. I have terrible memories of falling, hitting my head in the floor, and then sitting out the rest of the field trip. DD1 doesn’t know how to skate either and I’m sending her with a bike helmet. I hope she has fun but I was surprised the parents want to deal with a bunch of 8 year olds where most probably can’t skate!
We did a party at a roller skating place and have gone to a lot of parties there as well. They let parents go in the middle circle with their kids if they need help skating, parents wear their regular shoes. Make sure you wear something that you can get run over and not be in too much pain...our first time was in the summer and I wore flip flops
Ouch! Oh that’s good to know! I’m still sending H since I need a break. 😂 He’s a better skater than I am, ice skating anyway. I have no idea if he’s ever roller skated.
Ugh a neighbor wants chickens. Our HOA says no livestock. Apparently since we’re only 9 houses the HOA isn’t important? The county would likely disagree because of our common areas.
We already have an active fox, but yeah, let’s bring more food for it to stick around our houses.
My Dad needs to give me a few papers and he asked if he should fax them to me. LOL what? I definitely don't have a fax machine and I don't think he does either?
Tomorrow I'm taking the boys to a birthday party at the roller rink which should be interesting given that they have no idea how to skate.

Oh no, that definitely doesn't sound fun! I loved roller skating as a kid and have very specific memories of the rink.

My dh and dd just left for y-princess camp, and I just dropped ds off at a friend's house for a sleepover, so I have the house to myself for the first time, in maybe ever since we moved here (well, except for the dogs). I have no plans except to go to bed early and get a fabulous night of sleep.

gummybear, I saw an article on NPR about Philly and the Superbowl and this quote jumped out at me:
"When we hear they're greasing the poles, we hear that as a challenge, like 'Grease them jawns, we're going to come climb them,'" one 29-year-old said.

I only knew what jawns meant because of you!
Haaa!! If I have made my mark on this board in any way, let it be this! I am honored.
Someone posted the other day about being pregnant and nervous because of previous losses, but now I can't remember who it was. I was searching trying to find the post and I think I accidentally liked someone's post from 2021, so... sorry about that. lol
If the poster I'm talking about sees this, I was thinking about you today and I hope all is well.

Idk where else to put this. I can’t stop crying. I’m scared h is going to change after his surgery and we’ll grow apart.
Not sure if anecdotes are helpful, but I had WLS and know several people who did as well, and all 10 of the people I know (including me) are still happily married!

It’s crazy to me that all my friends have no idea how depressed I am. I feel like it’s almost leading a double life. What’s even more mind blowing is how the majority of our families either know or should know that I’m depressed but as long as everything is presented well and they don’t have to be involved they just ignore it. I have valid reasons to be depressed due to circumstances beyond my control which they are well aware of and yet they don’t give a shit.
You really see people’s true character in circumstances like this.
Big hugs to you, newnamesameperson and @bernadine. And yes, all those dance and cheer “competitions” and travel sports teams are total money grab scams.
newnamesameperson -- I feel exactly the same way with my mental health struggles. It's a whole other self that I keep (or try to keep) locked away. It's lonely 🙁
