We had lots rain and wind yesterday. Part of our playhouse roof came off. Trying to decide if we even fix it or just use this as an impetus to take it down. The younger 2 don't play on it much anymore. Guess we will talk to them about it.
Younger 2 are going to spend the night at FIL's. DH and I are looking for a scary movie to watch with DS1, but will also enjoy a quieter house.
I found out this morning that there are houses IN Disney World. Like, a whole neighborhood called Golden Oak and the two houses that are currently available are listed for $6MM and $9.5MM. Do we think most people live there year-round or are these more likely the vacation homes of wealthy Disney superfans?

DS (6) was up late last night. He often plays in his room until we come up to bed (10pm-ish) instead of going to sleep. He doesn't need to get up until around 7:15 and it seems like enough sleep for him (it doesn't to me, but he's not cranky or anything), so I guess it's fine. Anyway, he has a bunch of games and various science kits in his closet from Christmas. H and I go upstairs for bed and he has apparently gotten out this fossil kit thing that you have to get wet, and chisel away at to find bones. So there is a gray dust all over my bathroom from him doing this, which is awesome. H and I start cleaning it up and admonishing him that he should have asked us first before getting that out, and then DS's nose starts GUSHING blood and he is screaming trying to grab some tissues and then he has blood all down his hands and arms. What a dramatic way to get out of getting in trouble, lol. So that tacked on another 30 min to my night when I wanted to go to bed!
We don't have too many plans this weekend and I am looking forward to that. DS has been asking to get a milkshake at this sub/ice cream shop by our house, so we may go there for dinner.
The Daddy/Daughter dance is tonight. The kid's dress juuuuuuuuuuuuuuust fit a month ago. This morning I noticed she looked taller. Measured her...yea, this dress is not going to fit. I'll be heading out at lunch to look for something.
Our oldest dog was sick yesterday and over the night but seems a little better today. Our newest dog is getting spayed today and spending the night at the vet. I do not want two dogs at the vet at the same time!
I am scared at how busy Costco is probably going to be today but I can’t keep putting it off and this is the only day I have free to get all the way out there until the end of the month. Why isn’t there a Costco in the city??
I’m having lunch with my dad and getting tax documents so I can do his taxes. Why do we live in a country where we have to know tax law and file ourselves??
My husband and I did take a knitting class last night that was fun but 30+ minutes away at rush hour and through dinner time which threw off the rest of the night. We got to bed late and had to get up with older dog when she was sick and then early with new dog to get her to the vet. I don’t know how people wrangle children and sleepless nights.

Oh wow, yes I have so many questions! I’m sure someone on here has to know more details. I would like to see a map of where this neighborhood is located. I can also imagine this being the setting of some horror movie where it looks like the perfect neighborhood and perfect families till you find out kids are locked in closets or something. Maybe just me who thought that? Lol.
tacokick I went to Costco last Friday over lunch and was horrified at how crowded it was. I don't understand why it is constantly INSANE. We have a Costco membership because it's worth it with rental car discounts, but only go to the store occassionally. I hate crowds and have such a hard time dealing with the chaos there.
I had a mammogram on Monday and was just notified that they need more imaging and have scheduled another mammogram and ultrasound for next Friday. So now I have to keep myself from panicking for a week, which is complicated by the fact that I am doing a national webinar on Wednesday that I'm already stressed about.

I wonder where within the resort these homes are? Disney has MILES of property, I have to imagine it's just a neighborhood just within their boundaries, no? At first I was picturing like a secret lot in a Disney park somewhere, lol.

Ha! Yes, the next thing I did was look it up on a map. It appears to be kind of north of the parks, about the same distance away as, like, the Disney resorts.
We are going to a rodeo tomorrow night, then I am seeing Come From Away on Sunday while the rest of my family goes skiing/snowboarding. Then the Eagles on Sunday night. I'm excited for a fun weekend!
My kid's school keeps sending out messages insisting that they are not operating on a delay on Monday even though Philadelphia School district and several other districts in the area are. I do kind of wonder what will happen if the Eagles win and some of the other last holdouts do a delay (in 2018 our school district had a very suspicious "weather related" delay after the Eagles won).
On a heavier note, my MIL stopped by yesterday to tell us that she had spread my FIL's ashes. She says he was very clear about where he wanted his ashes and that there was to be absolutely no "fuss", no gathering, not doing it as a group, etc. MIL seemed happy that she did it (it will be 2 years next month) and not sad that she was alone for it. But I can honestly say that in her shoes I'm not sure that I would honor the request to not mark the occasion in any way. There was also no funeral, no obituary, no big public notice. It was very very hard on my H not to have a formal way to say goodbye. He didn't seem bothered by not being there for spreading the ashes, but I really think he would have handled everything better if there was some kind of closure or way to mark his father's passing.
This week has been so long. Every day in a conference room with people, going over a technical document line by line. The weekend isn't totally packed, but there's enough happening that I'm going to have to be mindful of time.
But next weekend, I'm going away with a couple of friends to a gorgeous AirBnB, where we're going to basically just be alone together. I think the plan is going to be lunch at a winery on the way there, then pretty much just holing up at the house with excellent snacks, movies, whatever books/hobbies we each want to bring, and no one bugging us for anything for two days. We can hang in the common spaces if we want company, but no one will be offended by others just staying in their rooms for hours at a time. Having this to look forward to is REALLY getting me through, lol.
We have our monthly supper club dinner tomorrow night and we're going to a place that specializes in mezcal (since that's H's favorite spirit and it's his birthday month). Well, one of our friends is VERY into themes and celebrations so she had tee shirts made for H's birthday lol He doesn't know so I'll be wearing mine under my sweater. I made them promise no singing, but I think he'll get a kick out of the tee shirts.

I am off work today!!!! I spend a lot of sundays travel, I work weird hours, spend lots of time in hotel and I finally found a day that I could take off as a comp day. I am so excited. So far I’ve slept in and am now drinking coffee. I have a workout and a pedicure in my plans today.
Tonight we’re meeting H’s brother and his wife who are in town for the weekend. BIL suggested this super weird restaurant for tonight, and I made H text back and suggest something else, lol. We haven’t seen them in 7 years, so no BIL, I don’t want to meet you at a place with shitty, loud music/a show where we have to buy pricey tickets, buy a full dinner, and then can’t even catch up. Whatever, BIL agreed (also weird, he usually is the kind who HAS to be in charge of picking a restaurant) so now I’m looking forward to this, too!

Today is my day to volunteer with the kitties at Petco. I wish I could have cats in my home but stupid allergies say differently. It's my austistic DS' allergy so don't @ me about how he can just take medicine. He could just do a lot of things if it were that easy.
I'm also walking my sister's dogs with her this afternoon. That is the level of dog ownership I want and it's good chatting time with my sister.
toepick - was this your first? This is SUPER common. Try not to stress. ❤️
It's not - I have had them annually for 7-8 years now.
❤️ I know how scary it is to get a call back (I had 13 procedures over the course of two years before I had a prophylactic mastectomy due to being high risk). Try hard not to stress. The vast majority of the time it’s benign.

I drove Lucy to school this morning since I had time, with David being off for a faculty meeting. Then I went to the nice suburban target to get soda and diapers and boring stuff like that. I love that I don’t have to buzz someone for toothpaste and soap there! I got a pistachio cream cold brew at Starbucks too. But I’m tired and ready for a nap now.

toepick - also, the good news about the scans you’re having next week is they usually have a radiologist on hand to tell you what they’re seeing and give you results immediately. So you hopefully won’t have to wait more after already waiting.
We were supposed to go out for dinner last night for our anniversary, but my H was buried in work and I was supposed to have class anyway (which I was going to skip, but felt weird about it) so we called the restaurant and they were able to switch our reservation to tonight. I think tonight is better anyway, because when we're done with dinner at 8-8:30 it will still be early enough to go get a drink or whatever afterward. It's in a fun neighborhood so there are plenty of options. And we can still get home before all the kids come out and things get too crazy.
I put off Costco last weekend so I need to go this weekend, too. I know it's going to be nuts, probably even worse because of the Superbowl, but it's always nuts there so IDK if it really matters. I love Costco but I wish they would build more in this area or something because it's always just jammed with people. I never even get gas there because there are always so many people in line that they are blocking traffic, and there is no way I'm dealing with that just to save a couple of dollars.

Thanks - I've read the statistics and know that this is common, but as am I'm sure you understand, hard to keep my brain from going to worst case scenario here.

Oh Bernadine. My heart is breaking for you. I guest my best advice for you would be to be honest with your H, voice your feelings. And take care of yourself. <3

My anxiety is off the charts. I think I need to step away from the news for a bit.
We ordered new patio furniture (polywood!), but it won't arrive for a few weeks. It's 60 degrees out today so I am taking advantage to have someone from Buy Nothing pick up our old set today and I am wiping down some areas where some rust settled on our deck with dawn and water. I cannot believe how easily RUST is coming out of our trex. Love that stuff!!!
I also finally pulled out our dead tomato and pepper plants and tossed them.

Bernadine as someone who is not going through what you are now, may I offer a rational thought?
You could grow apart at any time, with or without surgery. This has just been an occurrence that has amplified that fear that you have. I hope you’re able to talk openly about how you’re feeling and find support for yourself.
I hope for happiness and health for you both and a journey you can walk together and not separately.
