NETANYAHU HAS CALLED FOR THE ANNIHILATION OF GAZA AND BIDEN GAVE HIM THE GREEN LIGHT. AND THE WORLD IS CONTINUING TO SIT BY AND WATCH IN SILENCE.
Facts:
-Netanyahu has shut off electricity, blocked water, fuel, and food, and all goods from entering Gaza
-Exits out of Gaza have been blocked, or bombed.
-Medical care is almost nonexistent as medical supplies are not allowed in and there is not water, electricity, or fuel for back up generators.
-No aid is allowed in.
-Against international law, the entire population is being attacked and punished and murdered for the actions of Hamas.
WHAT ARE THE INNOCENT PEOPLE THERE-WHO LIVE IN ESSENTIALLY A PRISON YET HAVE COMMITTED NO CRIME OTHER THAN BE BORN IN PALESTINE SUPPOSED TO DO RIGHT NOW? THEY ARE JUST MOVING FROM ONE BUILDING TO ANOTHER AS THEY GET BOMBED WAITING TO BE MURDERED.
I could write so much more from what people in Palestine are telling me but it won't matter because everyone keeps saying this is all justified because of the attack by Hamas and that I shouldn't speak about anything except the horror that Hamas (fuck them) did. I'm going to say it anyway:
HAMAS is not all Palestinians. They don't speak for us all. What they did is a terrorist attack.
Raping of women and murder of children and innocent people is not something new that has been happening there that only Hamas has just horrifically done. If you believe that, you are either ignorant of the happenings in Palestine or purposefully ignoring what happens to the people in the occupied territories every day of the year. Women are raped at checkpoints, as they try to get medical care, at random by soldiers. People and children are shot in the street for nothing and no consequences are had because everything is justified by bullshit reasons. Oppressors don't have to answer to the oppressed or the world apparently. More children have been killed in Gaza this year by Israel than ever before.
Restrictions and withholding food, electricity, water, and goods is routinely done to those in Gaza, not just right now.
And now, the murder of millions of innocent children is taking place and being celebrated- if you aren't seeing the pro- Israel or Jewish posts that are celebrating the end of Gaza, the murder of all Palestinians, and moving to name Gaza after the music concert, but are seeing reports and posts of celebrations in response to Hamas' attack then you should open your eyes and not just be watching one biased news source.
The world and this board has gone eerily quiet in speaking up condemning the instruction given to perform genocide. HOW FUCKING SHAMEFUL.
In case my anger isn't clear, its towards Hamas, the Israeli government, Biden, and everyone hypocritically staying silent right now.
It's so horrific I have no idea what to say. My heart bleeds for you and all those personally affected by these atrocities. There's no justification for this and the world's silence (and in fact support of this) is shameful.
Stop saying you don’t know what to say. Fuxk that.
The answer is call your elected officials. Use your voices the same way you did for BLm, when gay rights are at risk, when antisemitic events happens, when women’s reproductive rights are at risk.
Enough thoughts and prayers that don’t do shit. Action is what is needed.

Just beyond reprehensible. I just wrote and/or called all my Congressional electeds and to the president condemning this. I strongly urge folks to do so regardless of the party affiliation of your folks and whether they’re typically responsive. This is worthwhile and Democrats are largely lining up behind these atrocities and need to hear from constituents.
I’m so heartbroken for Palestinians and their loved ones around the world.
I had heard earlier that part about Gaza residents being advised to go into Egypt to avoid the strikes and my first thought was…hasn’t that been impossible for a long time now?
The way my stomach dropped, reading this. I can't even imagine the terror of living under this threat. I keep seeing opinion pieces that Biden will urge caution and restraint in private but this looks like full-throated support to me.
I was listening to NPR this morning, and the reporter noted that they only had interviews with Israeli victims for a story because press wasn't being allowed into Palestinian territory. How many stories are being deliberately repressed to hide what's happening to those civilians?

It’s not justified. And I say this as a Jew.
No good can come from continuing this cycle of hate. The only way to achieve real peace in the Middle East is for each side to recognize the other’s humanity. Otherwise, we’re just giving another generation a reason to hate us — not to mention global public opinion, Israel’s friends and enemies both.
What I want is for Biden and other world superpowers to be the cooler heads in the room, and help negotiate a better peace agreement than indiscriminate bombing. Yes, Hamas is holding 150 hostages — as human shields — but there has to be better way to bring this crisis to an end. All I want is for innocent people to be able to go home — with no more innocent blood shed.
Just this July because certain members of the government did not want to listen to a a Herzog speech or spoke out against Israel the House made it their top priority to do this.

Fetterman was on Colbert saying some great things, like how some of his colleagues are stupid. I'm only slightly paraphrasing.
Then he said something like because I'm a senator I therefore stand with Israel.
No! It's possible to condemn hamas terrorism and Israel's retaliatory and illegal actions. It's really not that hard to say denying food and medicine to civilians is bad.
Blinken in Tel Aviv to show support, address unaccounted-for Americans
The implication that Blinken is there to support the creation of that very humanitarian crisis -- which I see as different from supporting Israel more generally -- makes me feel ill. I wish WaPo had chosen its words poorly, but I don't think they did.
ETA: Israel has said no water, electricity or fuel to Gaza until the hostages are returned by Hamas. So... the entire Palestinian population of Gaza is now held hostage too.
Is anyone getting any aid Gaza? I know it is nearly impossible to get help in, but wondering in addition to calling politicians etc, if there is any organisation that it would be best to donate any money to.

The UN is there and so is the red crescent but it is not clear to me what supplies they are getting (if any)

What I’ve seen from Doctors Without Borders seems to indicate that they have folks on the ground in Gaza (which I believe is usual for them and not limited to this specific situation) and it sounds like they are feeling really discouraged about the hospital and medical supplies being further restricted than even typical. It does not sound like aid is getting in or that the aid the UN and others are trying to offer is able to be effective because it is being directly targeted by the military actions. (Please if anyone knows more about this and can correct if anything here is not accurate I do not want to spread misinformation. As far as I know this is verified.)

This was essentially the thrust of my communication to my (all Democratic) Congressional Delegation and to President Biden.
From what people I know in Gaza are sharing and what this nonpolitical, no religious, pediatric medical care NGO that I support monthly is saying, aid is not coming in and is very limited.
I am not shocked that the US is standing with Israel and letting them commit war crimes. The US has committed several in the war on terror. I am truly disgusted that we are allowing citizens to suffer and die for the crimes of terrorists. I know that some countries want to play nice so they can get their citizens evacuated. One of my hot takes is that Israel created the correct climate for Hamas to form and develop.
We as a country, and as individuals, can condemn the Hamas terrorist attacks without supporting these atrocities in Gaza. The either-or narrative on both sides is reprehensible.
christy082- you do understand that the world is sending aid to Israel, who has abundant resources already.
And Gaza has very limited resources that are even more limited now and aid of any kind is being restricted.
Please consider posting links that also help Palestinians in a post about the current ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
I'm sorry, I really don't understand the situation enough and that's why I don't usually participate here because I don't feel informed enough. I've removed what I had posted. I'm sorry I see how dumb that was now.
