Saudade - thank you for sharing your experience! I’m the only person (except her dr obv) my mom has told about being on it and I’m sworn to secrecy so this thread has been really helpful to me while trying to help her haha.
TR, I was violently ill like that a couple times on Mounjaro. I never had many issues on it and then after I was on a few months I had about two weeks where I was pretty sick like that the day after my shot. It's probably the meds and not a bug.

My aunt was the same way. She didn’t want ANYONE to know, esp my mom but since I’m medical she told me. She felt a lot of shame about it, which is too bad. I don’t want that for anyone. I’m glad you’re able to help her and if you have questions (or she does) just ask us. Everyone responds to these meds so differently that it can be hard.
She should feel better as her body gets used to it. I noticed with the initial dose changes that I would react for the first couple of pens and then I’d be fine.

Thank you so much. She was feeling much better today (this happened overnight) and even feeling hungry so we’re thinking it was the meds. She has been on them for over a month, but she said while she is eating LESS, she hasn’t really changed her diet so she’s still eating a lot of fats and sugars and we think maybe things just got too backed up without enough protein and fiber.
TR I have not experienced that on mounjaro/zepbound, but I tend to have a stomach of steel. I did have mild nausea in the beginning, on the day or two after my shot.
However, a friend of mine literally crapped herself, everywhere, in her car. And my coworker has vomited to the point of needing to leave work a few times.
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus
I had an appointment with my Endo yesterday. My A1c is down to 5.0. I'm down another 20 lbs since I saw him last and down 49 lbs since I started Mounjaro in Jan. We decided to up my dose to 10 since the weight loss has really slowed down for me and I'd like to lose another 75 lbs or so. He said it shouldn't drop my blood sugar, but of course to monitor it and eat a ton of protein. He was happy with my progress, said to keep it up and he'll see me in 6 months unless I need him sooner.
10 is my favorite dose so far! 7.5 was such a downer and I feel SO much better on 10. Hopefully this is your magic dose too!
I realized I never updated after my last appt. with my Dr. who is leaving the practice. She wasn't willing to switch me back to Zepbound even though I'm no longer losing on Wegovy because she's leaving, which I sorta expected. But when I called the office to make my next appt., they STILL don't have a replacement for her. I could call the hospital system downtown and try to make an appt. there (with a long wait time to get in and a super inconvenient location), or I could call back in Dec. to see if they are scheduling for a new provider, in which case my next appt. would likely be Jan. or Feb. They will continue sending refills of Wegovy for me until whenever my next appt. is, but I'm frustrated I can't switch to Zepbound. I'm tempted to do an online appt. and get it compounded, but it's frustrating for me because my insurance does cover it.
My mom recently tried to make a new patient appt. at ALL the weight loss doctors in our area, and they all have 6-9 month waitlists for new patients.
Lots of the online docs will prescribe the name brand stuff, especially if it's covered by your insurance. I'd go that route and ask for the name brand!
I have a question, hopefully some of you will see this! I finally, gave myself 1st shot of Mounjaro this morning (in my stomach area), I guess I'm just worried I didn't do it correctly??? The shot didn't hurt and I'm not feeling anything really so far. After I did the Ozempic shots, sometimes I would feel the prick and then feel a little burning.
I'm just wondering about other experiences- does that sound right? (not feeling needle, etc?)

I sometimes feel it and sometimes I don’t. In fact, I injected this morning (I do my thigh) and didn’t feel anything, but did see a tiny drop of blood.

soccermama, I usually don't feel anything. As long as you saw the plunger come down and waited the 10 seconds, it worked! I very seldom see a drop of blood.

I did my first MJ injection in my belly and didn't feel it either. As long as it didn't squirt across the room, you're good!
I did notice the food noise disappear within a few hours, though, so hopefully you notice something by the end of the day! Good luck on your journey!

Has anyone had shakiness/lightheadedness on Mounjaro and not when blood sugar is low? I moved from 5 to 7.5 about three weeks ago. The day I started it I (before I took it) I had a spell of vertigo. I have been having some shakiness/lightheadedness/feeling weak especially when I’m driving. I don’t know if this is still vertigo, anxiety that something is wrong because it definitely gets worse once I start or mounjaro side effect. I just made an appt with my pcp and I’m going to message my endo but wanted to see if anyone else had experience with this.

If I don't drink water with added electrolytes, this can be a major issue. But I'd also argue that it might be a sugar thing - I usually need to have a spoonful of peanut butter or some M&Ms (or both haha) and I feel way better. But I'd make sure you're getting adequate hydration with electrolytes (even eating pickles/drinking some pickle juice can help).
The anxiety part - well, perimenopause made my ADHD symptoms and anxiety (and heart palpitations) more pronounced and it made my anxiety SO BAD. But now that I'm medicated (for the ADHD) it's much better.

I have this sometimes. Not as severe as you describe, but yes. If I eat/drink I'm fine. I am regularly eating 1600-2000 calories a day so ita not because I'm having too high appetite suppression. I just seem a little more sensitive to, or having more (I assume) low blood sugar.

I had this last weekend. At like 3 in the afternoon, I was soooo dizzy. It lasted most of the evenings, I drank some Liquid IV, and the next day it was gone.
I finally got in to see my doctor and while I considered wegovy (I think that’s what my insurance would cover) I went back on phentermine after a year off of it.
I can deal with the dry mouth but I hate that I can’t sleep. I’ve been up since 3am. Totally wired. I did get to finish a book though. I know it’s temporary since it stops being an effective weight loss solution after three months. I guess I’ll catch up on sleep in January…

What were your decision factors to choose P v W? Was it past performance, short term 'script, something else? My doc gave me a choice of P, W or Z; I read that the data suggests that people lose the most weight on Z but I had (have?) heart health concerns (HBP), so I chose W. How long were you on P the first time?
If these questions are too nosy, please disregard. I'm just curious how people chose their paths with these meds. And I wonder every day what's going to happen when I go off of them.

I’m happy to answer your questions!
I’d say my decision is based on both past performance (I lost 27 lbs in three months) and being concerned about the GI side effects with injections. That’s not to say that there aren’t unpleasant side effects with phentermine. I get dry mouth, occasional palpitations, and can’t sleep. My doc did tell me I could take zyquil if needed and I might do that this time. I’ll be frank, I gained 25 of the 27 lbs back over the course of a year. That’s totally on me because rather than maintaining good habits I went right back into a poor routine. I’m determined not to squander my head start this time. I swear, maintenance is even harder than losing weight. It’s been a lifelong battle.

meowmaps, thanks for sharing. I am going up in dose on Tuesday and it'll be the last box of my current 'script. I am hoping my insurance company will give the go-ahead for another 6 months. The GI side effects are real w/ W and while I think it's worth it, they aren't great.
This is just a vent, obviously: my mom‘s been sick again today and I just feel so sad and helpless and angry that she has to feel this way. She’s emetophobic like I am, so I know how hard this is for her. I just got off the phone with her because she had thrown up again and just needed to talk. And I just feel so sad for her. I hate this.
She’s going to talk to her doctor on Monday about getting a prescription for Zofran and also going back down to the .25mg dose. She’s been on 0.5mg for almost 2 months now, but has only been having these problems the last two weeks.
TR, I’m sorry your mom has been so sick. I get constipated easily and the combination of Wegovy and Zofran for the W-queasiness caused big problems for me. I hadn’t known that constipation can be a side effect of Zofran - just wanted to mention that in case it’s something your mom struggles with, too.
I had to lower my dose of W eventually - the queasiness and constipation were just too much.
Congrats!! It’s been a miracle for me. I’m 7 months in and down 60lbs. I’ve never lost weight in any way before the shot.
This is so good to hear. I was super fatigued yesterday, but doing better today. The lack of food noise really is just incredible.
That is literally the miracle that are these medications (for me). I legit do not think about food anymore. I'm 5 months in and have a check-in tomorrow at the clinic--very curious to find out what the #s are (I do InBody, I don't weigh at home).

I’m sorry if this has been asked but I can’t find it in the 500+ posts.
Is anyone using levity, hers, skinny rx or other online compounders for semaglutide? My doctor prescribed Wegovy but insurance won’t cover any weight loss drugs and I can’t spend $1k a month. He offered Zepboud because it’s cheaper but it’s still over $400 a month. I keep seeing online companies for less and was wondering if they’re legit. I want to start the meds and the dr believes they will significantly help me but I don’t want to spend $400 a month forever since insurance won’t cover anything for obesity.

I use Emerge. I have a discount code, if you want to go this route.
