… stair steps there are somewhere that you frequent? Off the top of your head, could you tell me how many steps there are in a specific staircase you go up often? (Your home, work, wherever?)
Or is this something you’d need to put some effort into finding out?
Based on a random family discussion we had on vacation and I don’t know which of us are more typical.
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus
My family has had this discussion. About half of us are counters and can tell you how many stairs, how many steps from one door to another, various other things like that. The other half of us (my half) have absolutely no clue.

Yes. I remember the house I grew up in had 13 stairs in each staircase from basement to second floor because it was hard to see the stairs when you were carrying laundry up from the basement.
It's 15 steps from the main floor to the bonus room. My autistic DS worked hard to climb those stairs (he struggles with stairs) so damn right I know how many steps there are as I encouraged him to climb just one more step for well over 6 months.
As for work, I have no idea. I go up and down 3 staircases all day long. I don't have time or head space to count steps.

I have a tendency to count stairs as I go up them. I know how many are in my house, I know how many are at work between the second and third floor, I don't know how many are between the main floor and work. In general most standard staircases have like 12-14 steps, my house has 14.

DD2 asked me today how many steps were in our staircase. I told her we could count together on the way up to bed. Spoiler Alert: we did not remember to count.
DD and I both found ourselves commenting that the number of stairs in the various staircases at the beach had no rhyme or reason due to being built into a cliff side, so knowing how many stairs to expect was impossible. DH’s mind was blown that anyone would count stairs, meanwhile I’ve never not counted the number of stairs while walking up or down them unless I was in conversation.
Most houses around here seem to have 15. Work is 26 for the first floor and 22 for all others. The parking garage depends on which of the many stairwells you use. I assume this knowledge will come in handy one day… right?

I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever climbed a set of stairs and not counted every step. I may not remember the number 5 seconds after I’m done, but I definitely know how many steps there are for the stairs I use regularly.
When DS was little he proudly announced there are 17 steps to our 2nd floor, so I have that one committed to memory. No idea on the 2 staircases I often use at work.

We have 13 in each set, I count going down if I’m carrying laundry or something large and can’t see the steps. I’ve almost fallen more than once if I don’t count and think I’m at the bottom before I am.

I'm a stair counter, I can tell you the exact number at work and at my house. For other (less frequented) places the number leaves my head fairly quickly but I still count. I thought everyone did, TBH.
I count a lot of stuff, for example if I'm at the gym I'll count my exact number of rows on the rowing machine or ski's on the SkiErg. Cars in the parking lot, hangers in the closet, etc. My brain just likes to count lol.
