I find it extremely hard to believe that this was staged (or staged to the degree that the SS were involved) because even BBs can cause serious injury, ESPECIALLY if aimed at the head. I don't think the SS would be okay with that.

I said in the other thread that I'm skeptical and this is part of the reason why. No one seemed concerned. If shots were actually fired, people would've hightailed it out of there.

Genuinely, my first thought was that he did something to himself when he was down. If he'd actually been shot, I do not believe for a second he would've gotten up.
