Trump will drop him in the next month or so depending on how Kamala does in the polls. He obviously picked him because they told him it'll be a landslide so it doesn't matter.
He will of course say well Dems started over, why can't I? Maybe Nikki? The base wouldn't love it but don't know who else makes sense.
That would be smart of him/his campaign, but I can’t imagine the scenario that they could come up with that doesn’t require Trump admitting he made a mistake with Vance. I also can’t see him choosing Haley, even though she’d be a smart choice for him.

Vance was never Trump’s pick, was my understanding. “Bad hires” don’t touch him.
At first I didn’t see how they could do this after the nomination, but if Vance “steps down” it could work.
Vance becoming a the new Scaramucci would be funny.
I had no idea that a Presidental candidate could change out the VP post convention. I always thought the VP was voted on as the running mate like the Presidental candidate - who knew that was not the case? But man, how embarrassing is it for people clamoring to replace you after 4 days. HAHAHAHA

OMG this would be hilarious. The Ds put a WOC on the ballot so the Rs change their game plan, tell Vance to go take a seat, and put one on too. The most whitewashed politician out there of Indian descent up against a WOC who owns her name and her color as half Indian/half black.
The Rs on my feed are nervous about Trump opening his mouth to spew his usual stupidity being the thing that makes them lose voters in the swing states that are tired of hearing it and now have a more eloquent choice.

oh since his family runs the RNC am sure they can change any rules if there are any.....

A Malaysian friend (who thinks he knows everything about everything including what all of america thinks) seriously tried to convince me Vance was a solid pic b/c he's a tech bro. Yeah, that funnels money their way, but tech bros do not appeal to the bread and butter of the gop in any way. This is why they cultivate his hillbilly (made up) roots.

Since they have already had their convention, what are the steps to change a VP at this point? I assume it is different than if wanted to change before the convention.
Can Trump even just drop him? Or does Vance have to leave the ticket in his own?

Is this the same person you watched the debate with?
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus

It's kind of hilarious that they're having buyers' remorse with Vance. Gee, you think that maybe picking a guy who wrote an entire book about how poor white people in the country are lazy and stupid might not have been a good idea for the Republican party? Really? Shucks.
Vance least liked VP candidate since 1980; has dropped six points in polling since being announced (average is a 19 point bump in polling)! lol for days.

@@@, possible TW
I've been lurking so apologizes if this was already covered. Does Vance understand that a lot of younger voters are waiting (longer) to have kids, or not having kids at all? People are having fewer kids (more 1 - 2 tops families). I'm child free by choice and medical, but the comment that politicians that were running a few years ago "had no stake in the game" because they don't have kids left a baaad taste in my mouth. I was glad to see a TV host (I forget which channel) address that with Buttigeg, but then felt horrible he had share a heart breaking story about his own journey to parenthood.
Also props to social media pointing out that Taylor Swift is a childless cat lady, and yet the most successful entertainer right now. I also saw childless cat ladies for Harris or something and it made me smile.
Sadly I know the Trumpers will vote Trump pretty much regardless of what a$$hat they have in the VP seat (see also Pence), but I think we should all be more worried if Trump wins and he can't serve all 4 years because he's old and not that well either, they just don't understand that because Trump's immortal in their minds (barf). I think Vance would almost be worse than Trump, if that's even possible.

Of course he doesn't understand that. He has a bunch of money and a bunch of kids so those who don't have both of those things have likely been ousted from his orbit.
I find the fact that he’s changed his name three times to be amusing. Especially the last change where he adopted his maternal grandmother’s last name of Vance right before writing his book 🙄

I think it comes down to not being able to comprehend of caring about something that doesn’t have a direct impact on themselves. Like why would you care if people you don’t know have an education or health care?

@@@ I keep seeing the justification that ‘but actually she does have kids, she has step kids’ which, I understand the point but I also feel like it is reinforcing the argument of Vance that you need a stake in the game in the form of a (step) child to care.

Yes! That has been driving me bonkers. It is 100% sending the same message as he is.

Yes and the same with Buttiege (sp) that he adopted (I think?) children. I'm happy for them that they've been blessed with children, but they don't need children to be successful politicians, success people, or live successful lives. I really like the support from (women) folks who feel heard/supported/seen by Kamala as a woman without children as I wasn't aware of her step kids until this non-sense. It was like when ACB was sworn in to the SCOTUS and the praise for her white savior adopting children from another country. I'm happy for those kids to have a home, family etc., but that in no way should effect her appointment to the SCOTUS just as someone without children should have the same chance at an appointment.

I truly don't mean to be insensitive, but I wondered if he was a religious nut part of a "church" (as I use that term somewhat loosely) that promotes having 800 children as "god's will" or whatever. I saw on one of the Duggard documentaries that they openly admit to having many children and putting them in to politics with the goal of eventually taking over the Gov with their policies/views etc. Sadly it sounds like this guy is on that train.
TR I didn't know he changed his name (many times). I didn't change my name when I got married so I'm a bit biased, but shouldn't a guy who promotes having children to be successful want to "keep" his (family) name as "men don't change their names"? Shouldn't the Trumpers not support that/say he's not a "real man" etc.? Obviously there's more to the story that he kept picking names to suit his political motive at that time, and that's gross.

Wikipedia says he was born Evangelical and converted to Catholicism as an adult (2019). So maybe he's influenced by that a little. He was born with his bio dad's last name. That name was changed to the last name of one of his mother's later husbands while he was still a kid. Then I stopped reading.

I’m going to push back on this a bit because while I absolutely agree that you don’t need to have children to deserve representation in this country or to have a stake in the game, it’s also true that she IS a mom.
It makes me angry on that level because both H and I have stepparents that have played a vital role in our lives and we know and love people who have adopted their children.
They’re all valid conversations. Denying parenthood is equally as enraging as the implication that you need to be a parent to have value.
And, also, we never ask men to demonstrate parenthood. That’s a part of the conversation too.
