Let the dispronunciation (as it's intentional whereas mispronounces is just lack of knowledge) begin! Sen David Perdue of GA said "kamala-mala-mala. I don't know. Whatever"
I hope that everyone who dispronounces is met with people dispronouncing their white bread names. Why, hello daveed perduay.
Articles of impeachment have been introduced against Harris. I know this won’t go anywhere but can we please no use a serious thing against every person we don’t like. Ugh
I'm sure it's largely due to the algorithm that "knows" me and my preferences, but my TikTok the last few days has been basically all positive things and excitement about Kamala. It's really refreshing after months and doom and gloom about Biden!
Watching Kamala launch her campaign has convinced me that she can beat Trump. Even if she's starting out in a virtual tie, she can make the case in a way that Biden couldn't. And she can devote a lot more time and energy to the campaign. I'm actually excited for the convention!

And she will kick ass at debates. I was so worried for Biden to debate Trump, I'm excited to hear Harris knock back anything Trump tries to throw her way. I feel like she will have many debate quotes that will be tshirt worthy.

It seems like the GOP is very scared. And I guess they should be. The one thing I kept hearing over and over (and over) was "Biden is sooooo old. He's got dementia." That was basically their party platform (besides MAGA, obvs). And now here's this younger, well-spoken woman running against Trump. So.....they currently have no platform since Biden is not running again. They now have to resort to the bullshit usually reserved for women in politics--picking apart their appearance, @@@@@judging her for not having kids, :::coughVancecough:::: etc. Stuff that has nothing to do with ANYTHING. Anything to make him seem relevant with his band of blindly loyal followers.

I'm so happy that we can look at Joe Biden and cheer for him now....him doing the right thing, stepping aside, focusing on his on finishing his presidency strng, letting a new young leader have a shot, being able to sit back and really proclaim all the amazing things he has accomplished (even with the crazy HOR and split Senate) is amazing. Instead of wringing our hands about his age and running again, now we can celebrate him & talk about a man of moral character and clarity. Way to go joe!!!

My mama is so cute: she is part of a group that writes letters to voters in key states every week, but this week they paused on that and sent Joe cards thanking him for being so selfless and stepping aside. She said that he needs to know how beloved he is for doing this and I think it is just adorable that she is sending a card to him saying this at 1600 PA ave.

I love this. I was thinking of getting a banner Harris/VP and one that says Thank You Joe. I donated money iinstead, but is anyone on here on ETSY banner making business?

I don't know what it is about this post, but an idea popped into my head when reading it (warning: it's too crazy and well organized to be remotely true):
What if the Dems *planned* for Biden to "throw" the debate, wait until after the convention/VP pick, let Trump build up more of a Sleepy Joe narrative and THEN make a "last minute" switch-a-roo?
Sadly I don't think Dems are that good at politics, but damn I wish they were. That would be beyond BRILLIANT if they had this planned for months (so they could get ducks in a row). House of Cards-level delightful scheming.
wise_rita, I was thinking something similar this morning, lol. Like it was all part of a big plan because holy shit, at this point I could not have guessed that this would ever go so well otherwise, haha.

Honestly, it's pretty believable at this point.
He was SO AWFUL at the debate. And then right after perfectly fine (old and slow but seemingly fine). It was literally like 2 different people.
Also the way the Harris campaign has been full steam ahead since his announcement, it's hard to believe it was thrown together in 72 hours.

There would have to be some kind of Democrat Illuminati to plan something like this. I'm imagining them meeting up at Obama's house in Martha's Vineyard.

It wasn't really thrown together - Biden's campaign was her campaign, too. The only real thing that's different is that they need new merch.
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus

Is it all the same staff? I Know the person in charge is the same (can't remember her name).
Their PR/SM game is so strong. It was ok before but this is like an entirely new level.
I think it's the same staff.
What you're seeing on social media from the campaign is them piggybacking on the youths (lol!) who have really ran with her candidacy the last couple of days. I read an article from thehill.com about GenZ and how they're lighting the internet on fire with the memes right now, but of course I can't find it to reference back to it.

I will say--I am an activist in progressive circles and I was sent a memo on Google drive authored by some Dems staffers a few weeks ago that proposed doing this same thing. So it was in the works since at least July 7.
I didn’t grab the link but vote.org is reporting they had almost 40,000 people register to vote in the 48 hours are Biden announced he was leaving the race. 83% where between 18-34

After the debate I saw conservatives saying that Dems were going to throw in a new nominee at the last minute 🤷 a broken clock is right twice a day.
I mean it would've been brilliant to have a candidate that excited people from the beginning, but I don't understand how these decisions really get made.
Also I don't think it's that crazy how fast things were switched over. I imagine there is always a plan B and C, esp given the age here.
A former (female) coworker who is young (probably has only been eligible twice) and always pro republican and was super pro trump. She just posted she will be voting democrat this year. I messaged her saying I was so proud of her 🥰🥰
