Honestly I don’t know but one article I read said she hadn’t actually sat down with/interviewed any of the people yet, so maybe if they all canceled their weekend appearances, it’s so they can meet with her?

I'm not too invested in learning all about them, but he'd be my 3rd choice behind Kelly or Walz, but PA is a MUST win state...

JB Pritzker (Illinois governor) also has no public events this weekend.

A friend worked for someone on the short list for Obama's VP. He knew a couple of days in advance that he was not chosen and asked to keep the secret. Apparently this was much fun for the politician, want people to come to your tennis match son? I'll drive. Media was following him thinking he was sneaking out so he had some fun.

I think it would be interesting if all the vp candidates appear together in support of the ticker. Really throw everyone off with travel.

I know I’ve said this before, but I really love how all of the VP picks are basically just throwing their support whole-heartedly at her instead of throwing shade at each other. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this kind of coordinated effort before where they’re all just basically being awesome and visible and funny. It’s delightful and I can’t remember any time I have ever used that word before this many times for anything political. It’s like she has a bunch of backup dancers who are really doing their best to highlight Harris instead of themselves. It’s lovely.

The mayor of Philly "accidentally' posted a campaign video on twitter supporting a Harris/Shapiro ticket.

Either a true accident for a jic ticket or a plant to slowly leak the vp.

Seems more like a leak that's a pitch for Shapiro than a forecast for the future.

Or maybe they made one for each candidate and only this one is leaked. Only about 2 seconds of it says VP Shapiro.

I like Shapiro. I'm concerned that ticket might lose Michigan.

I am losing my mind trying to figure out who it might be, like somehow I, random person not in politics at all, can divine from the ether something everyone in US media is trying unsuccessfully to figure out 😄

Prior to speculation I didn’t know who Tim Walz was. I saw a picture of him and was kind of “eh, would you you pick someone so much older to be VP, it kind of negates the “youthful” ticket” only to Google and find out he is the same age as Kamala.

I say this with 100% respect and admiration- our future president is a baddie!

I’ve seen a lot of people point out he was a public school teacher for 20 years and that will definitely age you.

Him and Mark Kelly. Just listened to the most recent The Rest is Politics US and Katy Kay reiterated what I've heard people say about Mark Kelly, he is not a dynamic speaker, a bit staid. Shapiro looks youthful, he IS younger, and he's more dynamic. Those things matter in a campaign. They're both sold on him being the pick (Kay previously thought it'd be Mark Kelly), she also said Shapiro and Harris have known each other a long time and get on well. So I'm definitely leaning Shapiro is the pick.

The more I learn about Walz, the more I like him. My choices are now Buttigieg, Walz, Beshear in that order. But I am leaning Walz for the VP pick and Buttigieg for Secretary of State in terms of what she will actually do.
