In response to her tweet about how she can't pay rent, Flava Flav paid it for her that day so she could focus on competing. She rightly also pointed out her alma mater (I know she attended but now sure if ehe's currently enrolledor graduated) pays their very losing football team plenty enough to have houses and new cars.
Snoop responded to a tweet that this guy's mom is loving his presence and commentary at the games, and he had to remind her that once she grounded him for buying his cd.
I love seeing these men so supportive especially of female athletes. Their excitement is so wholesome and a helluva lot more infectious than watched brf at any event.
Aw I sort of see the biting a medal thing like drinking milk after winning the Indy 500-- it's just a tradition and fun picture. Although apparently most of them are only doing it because the photographer is specifically asking them for it: olympics.com/en/news/olympic-winners-athlete-bite-medal
I don’t understand it. Is that because I’m old? Or because I’m not an athlete?
During the gold rush people would bite gold to see if it was real. Real gold is soft and your teeth would leave marks. Fools gold is hard.
There’s so little gold in the medals now, it wouldn’t make sense to bite them. And even if they were solid gold, would you want teeth marks in your medal?
Did you see the Chinese gymnast bite her medal after seeing the Italian girls doing it? It was cute! It was clear she didn’t know why they were doing it.

OK, I thought that might be why, but then I had the same questions as you did lol

It's not just an Olympic thing, people bite their marathon medals too.
I'm biased as a long distance runner, but I am loving the middle and long distance USA team this year. The sprinters always get the attention but the American men are killing it, maybe in 5-10 years we will actually have some decent marathoners again, since a lot of marathon runners come from the track 5k/10k.

Even cookie monster got in on the medal biting when meeting Katie Ledecky!

Ok Tara Davis-Woodhall and her husband are couple goals and I really hope that they are not horrible people because he is so proud of her and they are adorable. And then the way she shouted out the Para-Olympics in her interview 😍
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus

I hate the medal biting, but this was the cutest. She was adorable.
This makes me so angry. Having zero mitigations and allowing athletes to do whatever they want does not seem to be working. So much Covid at these games. How many people did he infect in the process? What damage to himself has he done competing with an active infection?

The other runners were probably fine, but he was in close contact with multiple people right after the race because he pretty much collapsed (so multiple medical people). He's putting people at risk that need to be there for many others. It was very selfish.
What's next: The women's competition begins Friday and the men's begins Saturday.
Here are some terms to know:
A battle is a one-on-one competition between two breakers, made up of multiple rounds.
A throwdown is a 60-second freestyle routine. A round is two throwdowns (one from each breaker). Popular moves include the top rock, down rock, flare, air flare and freeze. Biting means to copy another breaker's moves. Crashing is when a breaker makes a mistake. The emcee and the DJ ensure audience engagement and crowd energy. Breaking is judged and scored on five criteria: technique, vocabulary, execution, musicality and originality, per Olympics.com.
Technique: How athletic and controlled a breaker is. Vocabulary: How the breaker uses a variety of moves in multiple positions. Execution: How cleanly each move is performed. Musicality: How well a breaker stays on beat. Originality: The personal style of the breaker.

I expected Sydney’s race to not be as close as people were hyping it up to be, but Anna Cockrell shocked me! Couldn’t believe she snatched silver from Bol.

I was so happy for Anna, but bummed that they didn’t give that more attention (at least on the prime time broadcast). Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Super-Sydney fan, but she did what she always does. I don’t know that many people were expecting Anna to beat Bol for silver!
So, what’s going on with Romania and this gymnastics medal? Here’s what I understand :
1. If you think an error was made in your score, you place an inquiry. You must place your inquiry before the next gymnast finishes their routine. If you were the last to go(like Jordan) you must place the inquiry 1 minute after your score is posted. You can NOT question the execution score. You can only question the difficulty score or out of bounds deductions.
2. Jordan’s routine was always designed to have a 5.9 difficulty. In qualifications and team finals, it was scored as 5.8 difficulty. Losing the .1 did not impact the overall results so they never questioned it. Especially since when they review the routine, they may find something else they missed and your score can get lowered. In the floor final, it was worth having them review the rotund to see if they missed anything.
3. Ana(4th place) started celebrating too early. Yes, the scores were posted but results were not officially finalized yet. Her coach should have told her that there was an inquiry for Jordan in place. Yes, she still would have been heartbroken but she still should have been prepared that the results could be changed so it wasn’t such a big shock when it happened. I assume the competition makes an announcement or something that an inquiry has been made so Ana’s coaches should have known that Jordan’s score was under review and results could change.
4. Now the Romanians are upset about Sabrina(5th place). Both Ana and SabrIna had tying scores but the tiebreaker went to Ana because her execution score was higher. They are now protesting the .1 deduction Sabrina received, saying she did not go out of bounds. Sabrina was the gymnast before Jordan. I believe the coaches did place an inquiry into her score at the competition but the inquiry was unsuccessful. I remember the commentators saying something about an inquiry in process and then a couple minutes later saying the inquiry was denied/unsuccessful and the results are unchanged(meaning Ana placed higher than Sabrina)
So the Romanians tried to “take” Ana’s third place and “give it” to Sabrina because they thought a mistake was made. But their inquiry failed. But now they are mad that Jordan “took” the medal from either Romanian? Jordan’s coach did the same thing as Sabrina’s. She thought there was a mistake and questioned it. Only difference was they agreed with Jordan’s coach.
It is worth noting that if Sabrina didn’t have that .1 penalty, she would have scored higher than Jordan.
Chiles’ coach asked for the inquiry because she added in a trick at the last minute and they wanted the difficulty score/rating reassessed. This is a common reason for an inquiry. So in this case they weren’t questioning any deductions. They just wanted credit for what she added in.
I thought it was soooo awkward that her family (friends? whoever the ladies were) were literally right next to Bol's and she was so devastated. this is, very obviously, neither of the racers fault and sydney is allowed to be overjoyed and Femka is allowed to be upset. the logistics of it though were just real awkward.

I also was cringing at that too. I wondered about Noah when I saw him wearing a mask before the semis. I hope he didn't infect any of the medical staff as he was gasping in their faces. It also dawned on me last night that I'm now the age of the athletes' parents rather than the athletes themselves. :/

Oh i understand why her coach made the inquiry. I’m just confused why the Romanians are so upset and why they are asking for an appeal for Sabrina’s score. I thought you could only submit an inquiry about your difficulty score and that it literally has to happen as soon as your score is posted.
That women's 4x400 relay was fantastic- I'm going to be cackling for a long time!
Do you mean the 4x100?? Headline just popped up on CNN.com.
yes, I forgot it was the leg length not the total length.... we watched live in my office & that look/face/finish is going to be a top 10 meme of the year.

I'm pretty sure that a video was posted later in slo-mo that showed she did NOT put her heel out of bounds and, if that was the case, her score would've gotten her bronze.
