There had ben two medical incidents an hour into Trump's remarks. The former president ordered an aide to play Ave Maria on the sound system. 'Should we listen to a song while we wait?' He added: 'I want the doctors to take their time.'
The candidate also took his time, speaking for about an hour and 20 minutes, despite starting after 10 pm. Supporters were walking away throughout the last half of Trump's remarks, often in a steady-stream.
Thanks to me clicking this thread a hundred times, I’m getting all ads for the felon on here.
And most of them say Vote Early (paid for by his campaign). I thought the GOP was against early voting???
I don’t think their issue is with early voting, I think it’s with mail in ballots. So early in person voting is fine.
I think you are right. If you recall, there was all kind of fuckery with the postal service leading up to the 2020 election. Trumps inserted postmaster general closed offices, took away high speed sorting machines from heavily dem areas, slowed things down, etc. I think Trump told his people not to do mail in ballots because he knew he was fucking it up on purpose. He only wanted Dems to get caught in the mess. Plan backfired, though.

This is so weird. He doesn’t even know how to human correctly. He never gave a shit about people fainting at his rallies until Tim Walz showed empathy for some people early on at his rallies and he got a lot of “What a caring guy” press. Then Trump sort of adopted it, but it has always come across as a ploy. I think in most cases, people would want the doctors to work quickly and get the person cared for ASAP. These excessively long breaks are not showing the concern he thinks it does. And in the meantime, the rallies drag on for so long that it just leads to other people fainting. Weird.

Agree, which makes me curious. Why do we still hear many people on the media say that early turn out favors democrats?
Not my county but I just looked at Miami-Dade’s numbers out of curiosity.
Vote by mail: registered dems leading 77k to 55k Early voting: registered republicans leading 88k to almost 55k The numbers for no party affiliation and other look close enough.

I THINK I recall hearing somewhere that the % of D/R turnout was what most people were expecting in most places, but the male/female divide was much larger? Women turning out in a much higher percentage than normal.
Why do people keep fainting at his rallies? I thought this happened last week where people fainted so he spent 90 minutes awkwardly bopping to the most random of tunes including Ave Maria (I only read headlines and watched the SNL re-enactment of this). But the link says this repeat sequence of events of people fainting followed by awkward swaying to Ave Maria is from yesterday!

If I had to guess, I’d say a slightly older population combined with probably extended periods of standing (he shows up late, his speeches last forever). For outdoor venues, temperature could also be an issue, though I think your two examples were both indoors.

Miami-dade has been closing the gap as far as dem versus gop. Do not be surprised if it flips. If not this election, for sure the next one.
From the donation map I saw some interesting blue shades, but I wouldn’t underestimate the trump support here. It is crazy.

Axios -
. Rogan: "Did you just float out the idea of getting rid of income taxes and replacing it with tariffs? ... Were we serious about that?" Trump: "Yeah, sure ... Why not?" He reiterated praise for the tariffs views of President William McKinley, who served 1897-1901. 🛸 "There's no reason not to think that Mars and all these planets don't have life," Trump said. Rogan corrected him: "We've had probes there, and rovers, and I don't think there's any life there." Trump persisted: "Maybe it's life that we don't know about."

sent I saw the Ave Maria clip earlier today and legitimately thought it was a old clip from when he shouted to play Ave Maria at that rally - and just swung in place for 40 minutes. I thought “why are they playing an old clip? I know it’s weird as all get-out, but why?” It did not occur to me that it happened again and they intentionally had Ave Maria set & ready to go again.

I am not watching for obvious reasons, but the rally in MSG is full on Nazi racist bullshit. They are stoking violence.
This is my biggest fear about this election. These people are completely fucking unhinged. I don’t know how any sensible person can look at this and go, “yeah, I’m with them.”

Uhhhhh there is probably going to be stuff going down outside MSG after people start leaving that rally after some of those comments. You don’t come to NYC, denigrate how our city is “in decline,” and insult people who are very well-represented in this city, including maaaaaany Puerto Ricans. Wtf.
