I don't want to start a whole new post for this. Are those Plaid Shackets that were popular last year still going to be in this year? I never took the plunge last year and was considering buying one, but I don't want to me that chick who's behind on the fashion trends LOL

I'm so sorry pinkdutchtulips. May I ask? Is there a plan in place if she ultimately refuses to move (I don't even really know what that looks like)? Feel free to tell me to mind my own business. I'm just curious and also worried for you.

It’s all about the barn jacket this season.
I don't even know what that is I'm so fashion inept. I actually just ordered my 1st Stitch Fix and there wasn't a single thing in the box that I would've actually picked out for myself

My first thought when I read that post was, "WTF is a 'barn jacket'?"

Man, things do come back around, don't they? I had one in high school that I wore to death. I think it was a men's too, so it was oversized. I loved that jacket. Now I wish I still had it lol.

I could not believe when my kid picked a barn jacket for fall. But apparently she's on trend, lol.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, lol.
I WFH and rarely get dressed up. I brush my teeth, put on acne gel in the morning and change in to clean clothes, however it's often a summer dress (year round) or some sort of sweats. That part of my anxiety pie chart is MUCH better than when I had to get up earlier and ready for the office.
lavenderblue, that's really scary. I say block on everything possible and change passwords (again).
I forget who posted about the nasty mom, but honestly there's a special place in hell for people like that. One of my friends growing up had a mom like that. She talked crap about everyone on the cheerleading team, spreading rumors (that had some potential truth) about who got moved up to varsity because their mom was super active in boosters (this mom also was so she had the tea), then got mad when a rumor of the same nature happened to her daughter. Anyway, yeah that lady is not only rude but just a bad human.
First day of school today and the pickup line was already a mess. We have a big parking lot but the entrance is only 1 car wide, it gets backed up because people refuse to make rows so they can be in the car line closest to the school.

My DH bought a bag of iced coffee (grinds/mix) as we have a container to make it. I was a bit skeptical as we usually just grind regular coffee beans and soak them, but the iced brand is a *bit* better. Might be worth purchasing every so often as I still love my iced coffee. Thankful to WFH as well as my food bills are slightly lower from a lot less take out coffee and/or lunch from the cafe or order out.
Quick update on the Bachelorette party I was posting about. They've made a bit of a plan that they're going to meet in a totally different city an hour south of where I thought, however they won't know the meet up time until more people commit. I think what they're thinking is meet at a casino that has restaurants and forms of entertainment which makes sense, but I don't think it's going to be super convenient for most of the guests. I was debating jumping on the group ride share as I don't want to drive in to the city, but I'd have to drive an hour north of where I am and use PTO to get there in time, just to ride the hour south, and then find a way home whenever they go back. I wasn't clear if they'll stay at the casino overnight and then ride share back the next day (what time will that happen?), or take the ride back to the original hotel the same night of the party? Honestly I think I'm just going to tell them I can't go, but it stinks because it might be fun.
Oh and thankfully they even picked a date. I read further in to the original FB invite, which has now also moved to a separate e-RSVP form, that said it would be Fri or Sat night, opposite of the bachelor party date. I get it as the bride and groom have kids, so I assume one is watching them each night, but you have to have a solid date, a location and start time or you can't be mad you don't have a headcount. It's not rocket science.

LOL I had to google barn jacket and that is literally what my MIL wears....in her actual barn.
Can't wait to tell her she is making a fashion statement when she is shoveling horse manure 🤣
Miss R is refusing to move into the new place bc ..... the kitchen isn't color coordinated
I'm bracing myself for the fact that I will need the PD to force her to leave on Friday. I can deal w standard teen angst. This ?!? I can't handle this .....
Can you have them on standby? For everyone's safety.

My plan is the PD. If she crosses a line, they'll take her in and we start our 6th stop at in-patient only she won't be coming home, she'll be going to out of state residential.
I had dinner with friends last night and we booked a girls trip to Phoenix/Scottsdale. I’m looking so forward to it. It’s been a while since I traveled without another person to be responsible for, and these 2 women are great. We are going to hike, lay by the pool, eat.
I have a friend who has a beautiful house he rents in Phoenix. Let me know if you want the link.

My husband is sick with Covid. I CANNOT with the sighing and moaning. And the live logging every fucking twinge and ache in his body. Cannot!
And he’s screwed mine and the kids’ last week home for summer. I had a tattoo appointment on Saturday- I’ll check with my artist but I’m sure she’s gonna want to reschedule me. Goddamnit!

Oh thank you shopgirl07! I like that look and would probably buy one, but I'm cheap and tend to wait to buy jackets until I have too, regardless of if they're still in fashion, lol. To be fair I'm a 7th grade boy and would go without a jacket and wear sandals year round (regardless that I live in a cold climate with rain and snow.) Part of me also feels like the general idea of barn jackets were popular at one point, and folks might get one much cheaper at a thrift store, maybe just a trip to the dry cleaners.
I just bought a shacket (hate that word…) at Costco and plan to wear it. It’s very cozy! I’ve never been very trendy though. Also it’s bugging me that the model in the H&M barn jacket link has her shoelaces untied. I’m old, lol.
I feel like she has to. Long version of what happened:
PDQ
I was in a meeting with two people who were in a conference room on the 2nd floor and I guess they didn't hang up the conference room or phone or something so it kept recording after we got off the call.
They had asked if I wanted to come to the conference room when we started the call and I was kind of flustered and I don't like change and I’m on a different floor and all of the floors have a different layout so I was thinking about how to unplug from my dock, figure out where this conference room was, and get there, and then do that all in reverse after the meeting. And I did have another meeting after that so I was just like "Oh I have another call right after this so I don't want to be late, I can just stay here". So we have our meeting, it goes well, done. Then one of them in the chat an hour later was like "I don't know what happened, but it looked like it kept recording, I don't know what it picked up" and I was like "oh weird, I'll check it out." well IMMEDIATELY after we hung up, they start talking about why didn't I just come in person, why did I care more about being on time, I could've left the meeting 5 minutes early to get to my next one and how ridiculous it was that I didn’t come to the room.
I clipped the recording for them (because apparently they went on to have more discussions that she said were private) and I honestly didn't listen past that because I don't care, but that part was immediately after I’d hung up so I couldn’t miss it.
And I didn't know they were going to a conference room for it until a minute before the meeting started and even at that time the invite got rejected by the room so I wasn't even sure what was going on until we were on the call.
I can't with the shackets. My DH wears them all winter because he's a skinny man who lives in polo shirts and gets cold easily. He gets a new one for Christmas from LLBean.
DS runs warm and wore a barn coat for winter his entire elementary career. I must dig my trusty LLBean one out of the back of the closet; it's good to have coats older than one's adult son.

I am so stressed about money and it’s affecting my sleep. I applied to two part time jobs, I hope I get an interview very soon.
I have spent many years trying not to let the hate I have for my ex husband’s lack of financial support affect me but I am not handling it well now. I broke down and asked him for some help to pay for some stuff for the kids and he sent me a minuscule amount of money that isn’t even going to make a dent. So, in addition to already working 40 hours a week, taking care of everything kid related, I’m going to have to get another job. 😢
TR I’m sorry. I would not have joined in the room either in that situation, so they were being weird. I’m impressed you didn’t listen to the rest of the recording, I would have been so intrigued to hear whatever private thing they were talking about!

I’m impressed with my own discretion lol they’re in a different department so I probably wouldn’t have known the context of whatever they were talking about anyway. I can’t say I would’ve been as honest if it had been people I know better 😆

I still have my J Crew Barn Jacket that I got in 1990 I think. It's a little worn on the cuffs and doesn't quite button around the middle. But I still have it, so I am all set!
