yeah, I knew people could change their display name - I didn't realize it allowed you to change it to something someone already has.

We decided today to go to an adoption event on Saturday through our local cat rescue. Pet therapy helps me. I’m distraught and cried all the way home from dropping my kid off at school this morning. Today I’ll wallow. Tomorrow I’ll figure out a more productive outlet for rage and despair.

No, covergirl stopped posting in September of 2021 and that’s when Midwest Mama started her account where she continued to post until October of this year.

Cover Girl logged back in in October, and changed her screen name and began posting again.

I cried as I got to the office this morning, and then basically hid in my office. I normally am very social but I just couldn't deal with people as I knew I'd get a lot of sympathy/hugs and I knew I'd just cry and I didn't want to continue with that (especially as I had a big management meeting and clients). The people I tend to sit at lunch with understood and left me alone.

I saw a Harris/Walz sign next to the freeway onramp this morning on the way to work and THAT is what made me cry.

DD looked devastated this morning when I told her the news. DS was also sad.

My coworker and I are beside ourselves, but trying to comfort each other. I wore all black today.

The only silver lining of this mess has been that after 2016 I unfriended and blocked every Trumper in my circle, so my whole newsfeed is just mourning and fear.

I did this in 2016, and somehow have curated a whole facebook feed of Taylor Swift and a very few close friends who agree with me. Every other social media is dead to me today, but this one thing seems ok right now.

Working has been beyond difficult today. I don't know why/how they expect me to actually do things. And the all staff meeting that we had, one of the higher ups seemed genuinely confused why none of wanted to be on camera or participate in the group chat like we normally do. I am certain this person is part of the problem.

Not Thanksgiving, but my husband has told my sister-in-law that unless she can swear that she didn't vote for Trump this time around, she is un-invited from our summer vacation trip this year. (I pay to rent a big house for my husband's family to do a family vacation every year and I'm not doing that shit for Trumpers.)

Today sucked. My students were devastated and I don't think anyone believed the company line that "we've been through hard stuff before. We will be ok." My colleagues with trans kids are terrified their kids will be taken from them. My lesbian friends are terrified that they no longer will have legal standing as parents. This shit is not "hard stuff".

CVS specialty pharmacy is giving me the run around on my prescription. They called me and when I called back they didn’t know why they called. Then I get a letter saying a retail pharmacy filled my prescription, nope, I’m still waiting on the mail order.

I did finally get someone to say they needed my doctor to clarify the prescription. So I sent a note through the portal.
