The head of the table is closest to the kitchen and considered the "hot seat" which means you have to be the person to get up and refill dishes. Last year it was DD.

We're not and never have been formal about seating. So, whomever gets there first gets it. I just want a seat closest to the kitchen as this is the meal I enjoy cooking. I think my dad did back in the day when we went there but it's been over 20 years, so I have no idea.
