I skimmed through the last 2 pages. But the first time my was in a 5 guys DH and I ordered large fries with the burgers to which the cashier quickly informed us that the LARGE serves 4!!! So we went with the small and it was still a little bit too much for both of us.

Wow this was a strange thread! I wonder if you really want to lose weight? If you don't, I get it. Have been there lots of times and enjoyed a full order of small fries and just dealt with untagging my face out of Facebook pictures that friends posted.
If you do, at least in my opinion, Five Guys doesn't have to be off your radar but you have to have a strategy. I hope this doesn't sound too obnoxious, and it might, but I lost 20 pounds this year and did WWers. My husband likes that place so we took the kids and before we went I had a salad. I portioned out ten french fries and had the full small burger with no bun and lots of vegetables. It still tasted great but I didn't let myself have the normal weekend glass of wine that night and I ate a smaller breakfast the next day.
I think half of a small fry there is like what you posted, higher calories than a normal snack should be.

As a random aside, I only like Five Guys fries when they have the cajun seasoning on them. They are nice and spicy that way. And I like copious amounts of ketchup on then.
When I do go to Five Guys, H and I split a regular order of fries and each get a burger/little burger.
You could try to start incorporating healthy snacks then?
Things like Applesauce and String Cheese, Hard Boiled Egg Whites filled with Hummus, Low Fat Cottage Cheese and Fruit...I would try to limit going to Five Guys 1x/week instead of 3, and slowly incorporate healthier habits into my diet. Are you currently taking a statin medication to control your high cholesterol?
Nope, I have the meds piled up at home but never took them. I want to cure the problem naturally. I started exercising more. And we sure won't have the french fries problem anymore. I truely was grossed out over it and won't go back.
If it took you 3 trips to Five Guys in one week to figure out their food maybe isn't the healthiest option, I don't know if curing the problem naturally is going to work out.

We got a 5 Guys about a year ago and everybody was so excited. I can resist eating the huge portion of fries because they are so darn soggy. Ewwwwwwwww
I've eaten at 5 guys twice. Both times it tasted really yummy while eating it. Then, I started to feel a little quesy on the car ride home...leading to stomach problems for the rest of the day. And thus, my 5 Guys experience has ended.

Sorry this is a bit off-topic, but thanks for explaining. The term "dietary fat" threw me off, but your summary is in line with my understanding, haha.
I think we have a new 5 guys here in Canada. I am curious to try after all the buzz from MM.
I found it to be underwhelming after everyone telling me it was the best.thing.ever. (I am also in Canada)...apparently if you are in TO you need to try Burger Priest. I like The Works too.
I liked the fries more than the burger too, but I could literally feel the fat adding itself to my body. I went once, never again. There are plenty of other very unhealthy things I would eat before 5 guys.

Part of me thinks....just thinking of the size of the actual cup...that they're small size calorie count includes the extra that get's tossed in the bag...not that I think it's exact at all, but I don't think just that little styrofoam cup is 600 calories.
