They state the small fries has approx. 650 calories and the large one is 1200. I got a small for a snack. I know the small is really big. And it's heavy for a snack. But good lord, the bag I got must have weighted 10 lbs. When I picked up my order I thought it was someone elses. In no way could that be a small bag of fries. Well it was. Maybe if they filled the container with fries it could be near 650 calories but they spill two more cup fulls of fries over the filled container in the bag! It has to be well over 1200 calories for my small fry. It was larger than a large.
I'm pissed at this. haha. Not only do I blame them for my extra poundage and high cholesterol, but also for the waste of me having to throw away 1/2 an order of good fries. Ugh. This is the third time in one week I went there and each time it was just as crazy.
off to report them to weights and measures or whoever monitors there validity of caloric facts! (j/k of course)

yes, 3 times. but I'm not getting them ever again. I kept hoping they'd give me a normal portion to correctly equate to their serving/nutrition charts. But apparently they are not capable. And I'm not capable enough to stop eating them at a decent point when there's more in the bag and they are so delicious.
You didn't learn after the first time that they give tons of fries? You thought it was a fluke? To be perfectly clear, it is not. They give tons of fries.
Don't eat at Five Guys if you're watching calories. In fact, that's probably one of the last places where you should dine.

I know they give a lot but since they just changed the menu to reflect the nutrition, I thought they'd stick to that.

The whole point of Five Guys fries is that they give you the little container and then a giant ass scoop of them on top and into the bag.
Maybe the nutrition information takes into account the generous extra scoopage. Have you thought to inquire about that or what the actual serving size is?
My issue with the small bag of fries is that it gets so greasy and is so heavy that by the time I get to my apartment (a 5 minute walk, maybe?) it is ripped all over and I have to carry it from the bottom.
On the plus side, that and the fact that they close at midnight keep my drunken self from making that walk of shame a common occurrence.

I would definitely think about cutting Five Guys down to once a week if you're currently going 3x/week, and you can tell them when you order that you don't want any extra fries - just the cup.

I did not and will not inquire. I know the caloric listing is wrong, based on what I was served the last 3 times. I used to go to 5 guys over a year ago and I know it's their standard to scoop extra. But like I mentioned, the last three times were different. It was more than double ADDED to the filled cup. Basically it was the cup times 3 and a little extra.

I only say this because you have posted about food and weight related health concerns: even a 650 calorie fry is not a good snack if you're trying to get healthier. And particularly not three times in one week.
The issue really isn't so much that they are over filling the bags.
I know Jenny... I'm just trying to add a little spice to the board today However I really do have an eating problem, that is not funny. The snack was my lunch and I hadn't eaten breakfast so 650 calories didn't seem that bad. But of course that 650 wasn't really 650.

You could try to start incorporating healthy snacks then?
Things like Applesauce and String Cheese, Hard Boiled Egg Whites filled with Hummus, Low Fat Cottage Cheese and Fruit...I would try to limit going to Five Guys 1x/week instead of 3, and slowly incorporate healthier habits into my diet. Are you currently taking a statin medication to control your high cholesterol?
ETA: I also should add that these things can all be made/purchased in advance on a weekend or a day off...So you can load up your fridge and these are easy to kind of just grab & go. I had/have an issue that if I don't plan what to eat in advance I tend to let myself get to the point of being super hungry, and would also be going to Five Guys 3x/week...

Nope, I have the meds piled up at home but never took them. I want to cure the problem naturally. I started exercising more. And we sure won't have the french fries problem anymore. I truely was grossed out over it and won't go back.
I just can't believe you live somewhere where you can get In N Out Burger and you're eating Five Guys three times in a week.
In my defense I was extremely limited what I get those 3 days as I had a business meeting very close to it and was in a rush, hence getting fries that I could stuff down while driving.
