I'm not going to comment on the fries thing as I think you have already gotten the feedback you need, Ill just say that Im trying to lose (alot) of weight and I usually try to keep my snacks under 200 calories. Also, it is a good idea to have healthy snacks every few hours during the day to keep your metabolism working properly (so, eating small "meals" every couple hours.) I tend to overeat too, so you can PM me if you ever wanna talk about that. Are you on MFP? That helps me a lot bc I have my food diary public.
Summary: It's still up for debate, but diet high in saturated fat and, even worse, trans fat, leads to increased LDL (bad cholesterol), but the consumption of dietary cholesterol can ALSO lead to increased LDL, but it's not nearly as substantial as once thought.
Conclusion: Eat eggs, they are fucking delicious.

The info in these links is largely bullshit. If a health information source tells you to eat vegetable oils, run away. This is a lot of reading but explains what actually goes one:
