How did you end up on MM?

Some people have worried we won't get fresh meat on GBCN. I'm curious how most people landed on MM in the first place. Did you head over to The Nest after being on The Knot? Did you end up there from a Google search for floopage? What's your story?

I came over from the knot and thought MM was full of good information, and the people seemed friendly, so I stayed.

Well, I was never on MM on the nest because of the way you have to switch forums over there. Here, you see all the new topics on one screen and it makes other boards' conversations more accessible and more appealing. So, not new to TN but new to reading MM.

I was forced over to thenest from the knot when they created the nest. There were a bunch of married ladies still on TK before TN was created and when they started the new board, they forced you to move based on your wedding date.

My local (DC) board would post on MM too, so I started hanging out there. I learned a lot about money-things (and other weirdness) so I never left.

I lurked on the knot during wedding planning and finally started posting on MM after we got married. I chose MM because I like money and the people seemed nice. I lurked on ML for a while and was too scared to post. I've either become braver or they're not as scary as I thought they were because I've posted there a bit, too.

I lurked on the knot for a while because I went through a phase before I was engaged where I was really into wedding stuff.

Then I found MM and I was like, here are my sarcastic, intelligent peeps!

I needed an emergency budget critique when DH's disability cut our income by 1/3 at the time. I used the Knot for bookmarking stuff while wedding planning but was never on the boards.

I came over from TK. We had a great month board over there. I got bored with constant wedding talk after I got married and moved to TN. MM seemed like it had the most interesting topics and people, so I started posting. I post on some other boards too if the topics interest me.

I found it via the Bump when I had a question about taxes. I ended up staying because it was a fast moving board that discussed a variety of topics.

I was never on TK. I wound up on The Nest homepage randomly one day and just started browsing the message boards out of boredom. The MM peeps seemed to be smart and funny, so I started lurking. Then one day I thought what the heck and posted.

I was on the knot and people would always link Nest posts saying Nesties were so crazy! So I started lurking and liked MM a lot. I ended up switching over before my wedding.

I also came over from TK...got pretty addicted during wedding planning, so I needed a replacement board! Well, that coupled with the slew of SL default notices (H's) that we got upon returning from our honeymoon...MM seemed like the natural choice (i.e. I needed some MM help, BAD!)

The knot then the bump when we were adopting DD2. After the adoption was done I needed somewhere else to hang out when bored I lurk mostly but do post some.

I quit the Knot cold turkey after my honeymoon. Then, when I was first thinking about buying a house, I came to MM (this was right before the BAH board was created). Thank god, too, because I was NOWHERE near ready to buy a house. You guys talked sense into me, and the rest is history!
