Hand to heart, I thought you put it on in a purposefully awful way to mock how it looks. I had to read your summary twice before I accepted that someone apparently put that on in all seriousness.
Bahaha it really is that bad. I promise you someone was getting paid by Sephora to do that nonsense.
I actually did think you put it on with one of those cotton pads. I figured you couldn't find a sephora worker to help you. The reality is so much better. lol.
Haha ok, with a cotton pad I definitely could have done that to myself.
I may have almost hurt the person pretending to be a makeup artist at Sephora. It went a little something like this ....
I walk in, find the blush, check the back, confirm it's a blush. Perfect. Now I want to see what it looks like on. MUFA is right next to the big station for the makeup artists, so I turn around to ask the women covering her face with her 8th inch of power for help. I should have known then, but she was there and I am lazy.
Me - "Hi, I was wondering if you could help put this on with a brush so I can see what it looks like on?"
Cakeface - "umm ok"
I hand her the container. She pulls out a massive eyeshadow brush and starts coming at my eyeballs.
Me - "Uhhh it's a blush."
Cakeface - "No, it's not, it's an eyeshadow."
Me - "No, I'm pretty sure it's a blush. It clearly says "blush" right on the back"
Cakeface - "Yeah, it's not a blush, we don't use it for that. Those are eyeshadows down there"
Me - (pointing to the signage) - "It says eyeshadows and blush"
Cakeface - "It's not a blush. "Do you plan to wear it every day?"
Me - "No" (bitch just put it on my face)
Cakeface - "ok fine, smile big"
She then did that to my face. I was like nope, not for me and she started telling me some nonsense about what MUFE is about .... apparently it involves covering tattoos I don't have. We ended our oh so pleasant interaction with her throwing out another well, it's not a blush and me walking away saying it's a blush.
I turned the corner, grabbed makeup remover and realized SOMEONE else had to see this nonsense before I took it off.
THE END
Well, before the end I went to Nordstrom and got some MAC lipstick, but that was the end of Sephora for today
I think with blushes, highlighters, and bronzers, they are most noticeable only when compared to a before shot taken under the same conditions. Which would require taking two decent selfies, so you know, fuck that.
I might do it once. The other day my H was like I can tell when you're wearing makeup now because your complexion looks so even. I don't think he used those words, but that's what he was getting at. Of course, I was all annoyed he didn't mention how awesome my eyes looked.

I went with pinks on my eyeballs today. The shadows are all some of my new inglot colors. They use numbers instead of names, which means there's zero chance of me remembering. It's all various pinks and cherries plus a medium brown on the upper crease.
Why can I never remember to bring my lipstick with me??!!?!?!
This is what I would do. The vinyl stencil will hold better, but it won't look quite as perfect as using straight vinyl letters
Clearly, I'm dumb. What's the difference between the vinyl stencil and a vinyl sticker? You cut it out to your own liking, then stick it on, paint inside and remove the stencil? So it's just a sticky stencil or is it something you keep on?
Yep, just a sticky stencil. You can buy a vinyl sheet at Michael's and just cut them out to be stencils. Then you can slap them on the wood, paint and take them off without ruining anything. The sticky just makes it easier than fighting with paper
Is it a sign I'm in too deep now that I feel Sephora doesn't carry nearly a sufficient enough variety of brands and products?
I feel the same way. Why don't they carry LORAC, IT, and MAC? (And why are all these companies all in caps?)
Also why isn't there a place where I can look at both MAC brushes and other brand brushes at the same time? Why isn't Sigma sold in stores?
If this isn't a laundry list of first world problems, I don't know what is.
I agree with all of these things except the brushes. You can play with MAC and other brands in any Macy's or Nordstrom with a MAC counter! I know Nordstrom has a ton of brushes including their own line. I love my Crown brushes a bit more, but the Nordstrom brushes are well loved.
What do you all do for face sunscreen? I used a sunscreen I got in an ipsy bag over the weekend, and now my face is all broken out and gross. So, that's not going to work. SPF 15-20 in most makeup products that have it seems way too low for me. Anyone have something they love?
I recently bought Shisedo's face sunscreen and really like it. The have it at TJMaxx a lot. Don't pay full price. They also have tinted ones that I have not seen at TJMaxx, but are supposed to be really great for summer instead of foundation/BB cream.
I think 20 may be ok-ish, but the experts in such things don't recommend using makeup in place of sunscreen. So, even if 20 is ok, you should still get a sunscreen.

I think I'm generally sex positive, but this article misses a huge component that I see in many of the people who I know who fully claim to be sex positive. Prostitution is a good example. I can support someones right to consensually have sex for money, but also have a problem with the system in which that happens.
I have a massive problem with the fact that many people end up in prostitution because they feel like they have no other options. That is not ok. The way legal prostitution plays out in Nevada is gross. The only difference is that the pimps are legal.
I don't judge the prostitute and I do feel like they have a right to have sex however they choose to without judgement, but I judge the system hard.
Have you ever talked to someone trying to self abort? No? Then please don't suggest that there isn't a public health interest.
I don't see how not actively encouraging abortions leads to self abortions. I'm not suggesting abortion be made illegal or inaccessible, only that there doesn't need to be an active "go get one!" campaign in the vein of mammograms or colonoscopies.
Was I watching a different video? I missed the part where she campaigned for everyone to get an abortion.

For abortion purposes the standard for dating is still LMP, but for legal reasons there are a number of areas where they count based on estimated date of conception.
Have you ever talked to someone trying to self abort? No? Then please don't suggest that there isn't a public health interest.
First, let her answer. Second, I think people can have opinions even if they haven't been personally involved in it.
The shame, secrecy and lack of information contribute to people like Kermit Gosnell continuing on for as long as he did. I refuse to believe that someone who has talked to women making bad decisions in large part due to lack of/or misinformation would not understand how it's in the interest of public health.
That said, I didn't let her answer first and maybe should have.
Haven't they done colonoscopies (sp?) and mamograms live on TV to help people be less fearful? How is this different?
There is a public health interest in encouraging people to get colonoscopies and mammograms. I do not think the same can be said for encouraging women to get abortions.
Have you ever talked to someone trying to self abort? No? Then please don't suggest that there isn't a public health interest.
What is your primary issue? Actual concealer is different than highlighter but both have their uses.
I need actual concealer. I haven't been sleeping very well, so I'm getting dark circles under my eyes. My issue with the erase paste is that it settles into the wrinkles (they're genetic not age wrinkles, I've always had them). Plus I hate the way my mascara (any mascara) transfers onto it as the day goes on.
I've had a lot of problems with concealers creasing. I'm currently using Chanels' concealer and it dries me out a bit more than others, but doesn't settle in lines nearly as much. Making sure you're using an eye cream to hydrate also helps
1. abortion IS birth control. i dont know why this phrase is always used. 2. not all pro-choicers see a fetus as just a fetus or ball of cells or whatever. you can still see it as a baby/life and have an abortion 3. i think making a baby is kinda awe inspiring. ::shrug::
Right. But how many times do you hear about the mythical woman that's had 8 abortions instead of using contraception? And do we really want to further push the idea that life starts at conception?
But the idea that someone would use an abortion instead of contraception for funsies is ridiculous as a general rule. Saying abortion isn't birth control further stigmatizes abortion. Why should we pander to that?
From a reproductive justice standpoint, I feel completely fine with that woman viewing her pregnancy however she wants to.

I'm confused about the problem with the humming. Even if it was on film, she was still going through and actual medical procedure. At least to me, it seemed more like a meditative hum to get her through. It's not like she was humming a song. It is so weird to me to judge how someone gets them self through a medical procedure.
I don't understand why, but...yeah, go on, I guess.
Look, it's probably because saying you don't want something to be taboo but that you can't get comfortable with the filming thereof is inconsistent. If you're really not comfortable with it being filmed like any other minor surgery, you still consider it taboo to some extent, which is absolutely understandable.
I'm part of an abortion fund. Occasionally, we do a values clarification where we list abortion situations and ask people to rate how comfortable they are with them anonymously. What I've learned is that even the strongest abortion supporters have things that make them uncomfortable.
@gpw explained why and it's not like it was some anti-abortion rant. Of course, she can not want abortion to be taboo, but have some personal discomfort in certain areas. It's not like she's out reporting the post to FB.
So I skip this thread all day and see that I missed some photos. BOO, I SAY.
On that note, I cannot get what I consider to be a decent selfie to save my life. I don't even care that you might see all of my eye wrinkles because I spent my 20s ignoring sunscreen. I want you to see my shading technique on my eyes because I've worked hard to get to this point, dammit! So here are today's craptastic and probably blurry photos.
You are no alone. I either have crazy eyes or crazy mouth and you can always barely see the color. I swear none of you have actually seen how awesome my favorite blush looks because you can barely even see it in my damn selfies
