HR got back to me and they said that although the employee handbook just says what is preferred, each department has different policies. My department requires 30 days unless I want to be marked as "not eligible for rehire".
I also just missed a call from the new company saying that my background checks have come back and they would like to discuss my start date. I'm so nervous about telling them they now have to wait 2 weeks longer than initially planned.
Just let them know that you learned from HR. They will understand.
We just got a ninja professional. We haven't used it yet.
My H makes his smoothies with frozen berries (we get the big bag from Costco), protein powder (vanilla flavored), milk, greens (we buy spinach and kale, portion it out and freeze it before it gets wilty).
But he's also done chocolate protein powder (we like the Optimum Nutrition Rich chocolate), a frozen banana, and some milk.
My office is growing like crazy and we are running out of space for the new hires. So we are almost all doubled up in offices and are strongly encouraged to telework. It's really amazing to see this from the US gov't.
I am so sorry. I echo what others are saying about not being eligible for UE if you resign. I'd probably work my time, NOT put in my resignation, and let them fire me. Good luck and hang in there!
@shoegal, @callmefia... put it on this morning while getting ready and I had to stop putting on my makeup. I am dying to know what the bombshell is that they would reveal if there was a new trial.
@gracie6414, thanks. It looks like I can reply to messages this way, but not if I click on them through the notifications flag at the bottom. Honestly, that all seems like a lot of work, so I'll probably just use the computer to reply to messages.
@shoegal-- do you listen to Undisclosed? They posted a new episode this week covering the ruling on Thursday. And it starts off with a voicemail message from Rabia to Susan or Colin in which she tells them of the ruling and is sobbing.
Just curious, am I the only one who just uses the mobile site when I'm on my phone? What are the benefits of tapatalk?
I use the Tapatalk app, but I check the mobile site once in a while to see if I have any notifications. (The app shows notifications, but it seems to be really delayed or something.)
I also have an issue with PMs on the mobile app. If I want to reply to one, it tells me that I don't have access because I am not a participant in the conversation.
Me! We went to Guanacaste for our honeymoon and loved it. We stayed at the Occidental Papagayo, and did some day trips to different areas and just loved everything about it. It's chill, not overly touristy yet, beautiful abd the people were great. There were howler monkeys living in the trees outside our villa.
Same here. We were lucky and found a great local company to do day trips with. We loved going there and will definitely go back. But we'll probably pick a place that isn't as expensive.
What a great thread! I haven't been around much since we moved, because I am so busy at work. As a reference, in my last job, the most publications I had going on at one time was three. I am currently working on seven.
Since this is a place to AW professional accomplishments, I am going to AW my H. About a year ago, he and I talked about him applying for Social Security disability because he was having a lot of cognitive trouble because of his fibromyalgia and occipital neuralgia. He got the job here in MD as a contractor at a federal agency (a job he had before and loved). He's been doing so well. So well that he was just hired as a federal employee with the group!!
explorer2001, I am so sorry that you are dealing with this. My undiagnosed GI issues only lasted 6 weeks (this is back in 2010), but it was hell. Sending you hugs and lots of positive thoughts for a correct diagnosis and treatment plan.
I have been trying to eat lower carb and going to the gym. I signed up for a ladies only circuit training class almost 8 weeks ago. We are in between sessions right now, but I am excited to get back to it next week. I have really started seeing a difference in my strength and ability to make it through class. The scale has only gone down 6lbs in that time, but that's a good start. I need to double down on making sure I am eating as healthy as possible during the week, since I know that we usually stray from that on the weekends.
In order for the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices to approve that the vaccine be given at 6 months intervals, there needs to be science to back that up. The original recommendations can be found here: www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/rr4812a1.htm.
I'm sorry about your GP diagnosis. I also have GP, but I have an unusual case (delayed gastric emptying but zero symptoms until I get really sick and need a feeding tube). Are you on a special diet, like a low residue diet? You could look into Ensure or Glucerna shakes.
